They looked at Valencia who was still wearing the coat given by Dominic. The others were all cowering behind Lewis who had presumably accepted the temporary position of being their leader quite well.
She gave him a reassuring look, “Now there is just the six of us, the Coven's head, and all the other werewolves have left. Do you mind telling me what has been troubling your mind?”
Valencia tried her best to sound gentle and not be angry. She had been angry and her temper had been flaring all the time, Trecdor was around but now that he was gone, she had relaxed a bit. It looked like he was the sole reason for her to be angsty.
Lewis bowed low and spoke hesitantly, “Archon alpha, we...we were taken in recently. Maybe, 6 months ago. We all were a group of friends who were partying and goofing around in Grawd, the human city after our exams were over.”
However, one of us, Brandon, he pointed to a boy behind him with jet black hair and similar eyes who was
Valencia blinked so fast that her eyes would have fallen off her face. She couldn't believe her ears and asked him again, “The man who had been standing next to me this whole time? Alpha Castro?” Lewis nodded his head and confirmed though Valencia had a hard time believing him. The tall, lanky boy continued, “He then said that he could tell us to look after our new bodies and he could teach us how to use our strength and avoid being detected by humans.” But then if Dominic had saved them, why would he have sent them under Mark and not taken them in his own pack? What was going on? As questions continued to rake her mind, she was getting more and more curious. How had she not realized what was going on in her territory? Even Dominic hadn’t told her anything about this… Her thoughts were getting murkier but she stopped herself from thinking more. Lewis gulped as his throat seemed to have become dry after speaking for so long, “So, we listened to
Dominic bit his tongue, his thoughts had slipped from his mouth and now Valencia was staring at him, waiting for him to explain. Just how could he explain what she did to him? She was so wild and stubborn and everything he ever wanted… He shook his head as if that would help him get rid of his thoughts, and said, “Nothing. I just helped the kids and…” He trailed off. Valencia had inched closer to him and there was barely any distance between them, “How did I distract you, alpha Castro?” Dominic gulped nervously and stepped back, his mind wouldn't work with her so close to him. One step...two steps...three steps...perfect! After adding enough distance, he continued, “I meant you kept on glaring at me. I didn't tell you about the kids because you were busy with saving Gerald’s children and dealing with the hycwen attacks.” Valencia looked a little hurt at that as the initial fury was replaced with sadness, “Even you think, I won't
Dominic took Valencia’s face in his hands and his lips came crashing down on hers. He wasn’t even aware of his movements anymore, of when he had removed his hand from her waist and of when he had moved it up her cheeks. If Valencia had been confused earlier, now she was just too shocked. Dominic’s soft lips held hers, kissing gently, nibbling at hers and the alpha shivered. Dominic was handsome with his green eyes, tall muscular build, and that charm that could make even the hardest person crack under it, but Valencia had been aloof to him. And that was what had made him crave her, want her. There had been many girls willing to throw themselves at him, but they had never interested him. He had always wanted just one girl, Valencia. And, he was kissing her! Dominic’s lips were slow, hesitant at first unsure of what to do or if he could proceed or not. So, he looked at Valencia whose eyes had grown wide as saucers but then slowly closed. Tak
Valencia was sleeping on the bed once again and Dominic was pacing around nervously. Freyge and a couple of other werewolves were around too. He wasn’t sure what had happened, they had been kissing passionately, at least he had been, and suddenly she had limply fallen on him. Dominic had grown worried and placed her on the bed, tucking her under the sheets and adjusting her dress. His heart had been threatening to jump out of his throat earlier, but now he was scared witless. Had he done something to her? Was he the reason she had slumped again? Questions raked his mind but he had no answer to it and nobody to turn to for a solution to. What would he tell the others? I had been kissing the archon alpha when she suddenly fell unconscious? He continued his nervous pacing and his eyes kept flitting to her face. Fine lines of worry had appeared on his forehead but he could do nothing save wait for her to wake up. Freyge looke
ll three of them reached the bedroom Valencia had been sleeping in less than a minute. As they had reached the corridor outside the room, Dominic saw everyone huddled together, far away from the bedroom. He looked at Freyge and signaled him to wait for a minute before he would call him inside. Adjusting his shirt, Dominic took a deep breath and turned the knob of the door. He had barely stepped inside and was pushing the door behind him when a white wolf pounced upon him, its teeth bared and inches from his face. Dominic wasn’t too flustered as he had somewhat expected this to happen given how he had stepped on broken china while placing his foot inside the room. The she-wolf had placed her paws on either side of the alpha, trapping him, and was growling at him menacingly. Dominic made no sudden movement but gently spoke, “Archon, this is alpha Castro, you know me very well, I bring no harm to you.” He had aimed to soothe her however his words
Valencia turned to look at him with a mixture of anger and surprise.Just how many things had he been hiding from her?Dominic didn't turn around but kept looking outside the window into the forest.“Are you sure that’s the case?” she asked him again.“I think I am about 90% sure that it is the case, otherwise things won't add up.”Valencia just looked at him in surprise. Had he been trying to hold it all together while she had been just focussed on the hycwens and dealing with her curse? She didn't need to ask him what was the case, he continued with that faraway look in his eyes.“When I had taken the kids to meet everyone, they had been greeted by everyone well. However, Mark seemed to have taken a particular interest in them. They were newly turned and scared and Mark seemed to treat them well. Hence, when I asked them if they would like to join a particular pack, they had chorused his name and
(Somewhere in the Burham mountains…) The next day the sun rose on the horizon but the sun rays couldn't reach the ground of the forest that was densely packed with tall trees that gave thick foliage. Plants struggled to shoot up to receive sunlight and the smell of soft grass spread through the air when a tall man stepped on it. He was being very slow and careful. His long silvery-white beard along with an equally pristine white robe was a stark contrast to the various shades of green and colorful flora everywhere around him. The man was probably a few thousand years old but barely looked to be seventy. There were fine wrinkles on his forehead and around his eyes but save that his skin looked taut and firm. His eyes darted from left to right as he looked around searching for what he had come for. It had been his third attempt and his patience was beginning to wear off. The first two times he had let the intruder leave but not now. The robe swished in
Freyge had been sitting in his small apartment that had a lingering smell of various herbs and potions. It just had two rooms, one where he slept and ate and did everything else apart from concocting potions. Not many werewolves loved to brew, in fact, it was considered a laughable matter to do anything apart from learning to fight and become future alphas of the pack. Freyge was different, he had never liked fighting. From a young age, his father had taught him the importance of knowing the abundant flora around them. The forest was a treasure trove according to his father and not being able to identify the precious herbs and plants was an utter waste. He had been an ordinary human who adored his father, who had been a botanist. So it was only natural for him to take a liking to the field. Now, he sat in his small apartment in the other room, tinkering with the flasks and beakers creating various potions and concoctions. The book he had been ca
