Emily POV

During the endless hours of my flight, I was angry at the fact that Dominic had questioned my sexual life in the presence of everyone who had most likely listened to our conversation in the cell room. Never had anyone disrespected me in several years than he had done that very moment.

When I arrived at my apartment, I noticed a strange black van parked opposite my apartment. Before my journey to the prison, there had been no cars across the street, which makes this one very suspicious.

Regardless, I walked into the living room but stopped when a masculine scent hit my nose and this caused me to be alert, realising someone had broken into my space.

When I dropped my bag on the couch, I heard the sound of plates dropping to the floor in my kitchen and a deep voice cursing. I reached into my purse for a pepper spray, ready to take on the intruder.

My feet touched the floor quietly, as I moved towards the kitchen. My heart was pounding as I did not know what to expect.

When I arrived at the kitchen, there was no sign of anyone in the place, just broken plates on the floor. I couldn't hallucinate when I heard a voice. I moved towards the broken plates leaning down to grab one of the pieces and taking a look at it.

"I am sorry to have invaded your space." I turned around and attempted to spray his face, but the man had anticipated my move, holding my hands and removing the spray in a matter of seconds.

"Who are you and how did you get into my house?" I asked, reaching for a knife and pointing it in his direction.

"Relax tigress, I am not here to hurt you." The stranger says, raising his hands. "The least you can do is learn to cook once in a while. Do you know how tiring it gets when I have to eat outside and my boss has a girl that can cook?" He asked.

"Your boss? What are you even talking about? Maybe I should call the police right away." I said, trying to walk away from him, but he held me back.

"What device are you going to use to call the police? Are you talking about this one?" He asked, raising my phone for me to see.

"Give me my phone," I demanded, trying to reach for it but he was much taller than me. "Look I don't want to be a part of this, who are you and why are you in my house?" I asked one more time.

"Maybe if you calm down and listen, you will understand my purpose here." He stated, with an exasperated sigh. "Let's go to the living room." He said and turned around, leaving the kitchen.

When I entered the living room, he sat down comfortably at the table, eating a couple of snacks that I left inside the fridge.

"How dare you take my snacks?" I asked, trying to take it away from him, but he got his hands on it before me. "Are you going to say something or should I call the police?" I asked, placing my hands on my hips and glaring at him.

"I don't know why you are so scared of me. Do you think if I wanted to hurt you, I would not have done that a long time ago?" He asked, rolling his eyes and taking a bite out of my favourite snack.

"So what do you want?" I asked again, getting frustrated by him.

"I am here because I was told to come and protect you."

"By who?" I asked.

"You should be happy that I am taking my precious time over the next few weeks and protecting you when I should be with my girl and enjoy my life." He replied.

"First of all sir, I don't need your stupid protection. Second of all, I won't repeat myself when I say you should get out of my house immediately." I yelled.

"How ungrateful can you be? You come into the boss's house as an undercover agent and he tries to protect you from harm, even when his family members warned him about it. Still took you along and tried to escape and when he was arrested, he still informed me to keep you protected from Alessandro and his other enemies out there."

As he finished explaining, I was left with several questions hanging in my mind about Dominic. How can Dominic call the shots from the cell? What else do I know about him other than being a criminal?

"I hope you know Dominic is in prison. So how can he be giving you instructions from the prison?" I voiced out my thoughts.

"That is the problem with every single person that has ever crossed Dominic's part. They all underestimate what my boss is capable of doing." He says with a look of disappointment on his face. "I won't blame you, there are a lot of things that you will learn about Dominic." He stated.

"So what is the reason he asked you to protect me? Is it from Alessandro his brother? I can get a court order to be protected by the police, so I still believe you are lying to me." I expressed.

He looked at me for a split second and raised to his feet, reaching for his phone in his pocket. "Maybe I need to prove everything to you then." I watched him as he patiently waited for whoever it was he was calling to pick up.

"Hello Dorian I need to speak to the boss, it is a matter that requires his attention." He said in a rather formal tone. "Tell him, the lady wants to know my reason for protecting her." He added.

He removed the phone from his ear and handed it over to me. "Here, take this and speak to him yourself." I hesitated, but eventually got the phone from him and placed it on my ear.

"Hello sweetheart, surprised to hear my voice?" I froze.

This story is off to a good start, kinda fast paced and chaotic but good. Domonic seems to be infatuated with Emily, maybe she wasn't as undercover agent as she thought she was. lol

EMILY'S POV I opened my eyes slowly. The bright light causing a sharp pain to shoot through my head. I groaned as I brought my hand to my head. I felt a bandage on the side of my forehead, probably from the place where one of Damien's men had hit me. I could not remember much of anything that had happened, not even how I got back to the estate, but I was glad that I was. “You're awake.” I heard Dominic say, walking into the room from the bathroom. Freshly showered, his wet hair was sticking to his face. “What happened? How long was I out for?” “Just a say. You needed to rest. You were hit pretty badly.” Dominic said. “What happened to Damien?” “He's dead. Everything is over now.” “I'm so glad to hear that.” I said, my voice filled with emotions. It felt like I could finally breathe now. *** The sun rose slowly over the quiet hills Of the cemetery. Everything was quiet and still, like the world paused just for us to say to goodbye. The gravestone has Daniella's infor

DOMINIC'S POV I paced the room like I was losing my mind—I was actually losing my mind. I held her phone in my hand, gripping it like my life depended on It. I had to find her before anything happened to her. I kept looking at my phone, hoping I'd get a call from Damien. “He made a mistake by tsking her. I'll kill him.” Victor looked up from The monitor and looked at me. “We have found something.” “What?” I moved quickly to look at the screen. “What did you find?” “We found a warehouse just outside of the city that belongs to Damien. I am almost positive That is where he is holding Emily.” “Gather All the men together so we can leave. I need to get Emily back today. I don't want her spending the night with that bustard.” “We go in as quietly As we can.” Barry said. “And we have to end this tonight. Damien should be dead tonight.” *** It was midnight when we pulled up to the warehouse. The atmosphere was thick with tension as we all stared at the building that loo

  • The Undercover Bride (Mafia Escapade)    Chapter 213

DOMINIC'S POV It had been a long time since I'd had a moment to breathe. I'd not been out in a long time due to the chaos of the world around me. Emily had insisted that we take a break from it all and go somewhere quiet. I was skeptical because I knew that Damien was still out there and it was dangerous, but I figured that I'd be with her. I took her out of the city. It was an hour drive out of the city. I took her to a cozy and quiet restaurant. It was isolated and I knew that nobody knew that the place existed except through exclusive invite. I felt like it would be a nice time out. Anita was back at home, protected by guards and Victor and the rest of the men were with her. It was a very relaxing night and maybe that was why I let my guard down and how I could miss the signs. “It feels good to be out of the house for a while. I can't remember the last time I'd been out in the open.” Emily said as we ate our dinner. “Me too. It feels good. I know things have been a bit hect

  • The Undercover Bride (Mafia Escapade)    Chapter 212

DAMIEN'S POV The hit from Dominic had taken more from me than I'd expected. We didn't expect the attack, and I lost too many men. Men that I could not afford to lose. I'd always known that going up against Dominic was going to be a hard thing. He had a reputation for being ruthless, and he never lost a war; that was why I'd gotten Steven Crowley to work with me, but I'd lost him, too. He wasn't even sure he wanted to go up against Dominic. He could walk away because he had nothing to lose except his life, and he stood to gain nothing because he'd only been working with me to pass away time. Taking my brother down was essentially something that I had to do alone and it was proving to be too difficult. Dominic didn't back down. Just when you thought you'd taken him down, he always came back harder and faster. He was bloodthirsty, and now he was out for mine. I was not scared of Dominic, though; I was still going to take my revenge for everything that he got that I deserved. He'd bee

  • The Undercover Bride (Mafia Escapade)    Chapter 211

EMILY'S POV It had been almost a month since Damien vanished, and although Dominic appeared to be calm, I could see the restlessness in his eyes and the tension in his body. I also noticed that he began to wake up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat and, sometimes, gripping the sheets so tight that his knuckles turned white. He didn't give me so much information about what was going on, but I didn't need to be told that finding Damien was proving to be harder than we all thought it would be. I was in the library reading a book. Something I'd not done in a while, but started doing again because it helped distract me from the things that were happening around me. The door barged open and Dominic walked in looking very tired. It was already past midnight, and I'd been waiting for him. “What's wrong?” I asked. “Damien's men attacked one of my warehouses and killed about six of my men. It was an unexpected attack.” He said through gritted teeth. “What?” “Yeah, it seems

  • The Undercover Bride (Mafia Escapade)    Chapter 210

DOMINIC'S POV The car roared to life as I sped out of the driveway. I could not believe that Damien had managed to slip through our fingers again. We had been so close to getting him, I could feel it. Then he eluded us once more. One thing was for sure, I was not going to let Damien get away with everything he'd done. My revenge was on its way. Victor was already at the warehouse when I arrived. He and the rest of the guys were already at work trying to locate Damien. “Have you found anything?” I asked. “Nope. I'm trying to search through the different airlines to see if we can find something. We know that it is very unlikely, especially with the fact that he has Crowley on his side, that they might have used other means or changed their identities.” Lorenzo explained. “Also, there might be a mole. Somebody who let Damien know that we were on to him.” Victor said. The whole place went quiet. One thing I hated with a passion was a mole. Apparently, people had not learnt thei
