Vivienne quickly washed her anger away and smiled.

A spark of interest lit her face as she stepped forward to call him.

“Doctor, please excuse me,” she said calmly, her tone suddenly respectful.

Lina, her assistant, was shocked. Vivienne rarely addressed anyone in their circle with that kind of respectful tone—let alone some ordinary doctor who looked poor. She gave a small shrug.

Adrian paused and turned. His face looked like he had no time to waste, but his deep eyes rested on her as if he saw her for the first time. She looked stunning—her figure was the perfect blend of elegance and confidence. Adrian swallowed hard, feeling the tug of attraction at the sight of her graceful posture and glowing skin.

“Dr…?” she said, prompting him again.

Adrian didn’t catch what she meant at first.

“Doctor, what’s your name?” she repeated, a soft smile playing at her lips. Her dimples showed as her bright eyes sparkled, making every man wish he could see her smile just once.

“Just call me Adrian Foster, Mrs.,” he replied, coughing lightly as if to steady himself.

Vivienne’s smile widened as she noticed how her presence affected him.

“Oh, you’re such a simple person. And quite skilled. Your type of talent is rare.” She said with a smile. “How come you’re just a casual worker… I mean…” She tried not to sound rude, choosing her words carefully.

Lina leaned closer, cutting the tension.

“Mrs. Lancaster, there really is an emergency,” she chimed in, her expression urgent.

“What’s that?” Vivienne frowned, switching her gaze quickly from Lina back to Adrian.

A surge of inconvenience flickered across Adrian’s eyes, but he said nothing.

“John, your younger brother just messaged me—your father’s illness has worsened. He’s been coughing up blood even more,” Lina said, her voice low with urgency.

Vivienne’s face turned pale, her frustration clear. Mr. Alex Lancaster had been fighting a mysterious illness that even the top doctors of Verelux City couldn’t identify. Many had tried to cure him, hoping to earn the Lancaster family’s favor, but none had succeeded. Some even said it was beyond medicine. Even top doctors from other countries has tried but they could only leave with the word, it’s a serious matter than just a professional doctor could handle. He’s been battling with the illness for over eight years now.

“Okay, give me a minute,” she said, her voice tight with worry.

She’d always feared for her father’s health. The family had done everything they could—even Mr Alex Lancaster himself had told them to move on, that when the time was right, he’d leave. But Vivienne wasn’t ready to give up. She couldn’t let go.

She turned to Adrian and managed a small smile.

“Dr. Foster, I have a present for you personally,” she said with a chuckle.

Lina stood confused at Vivienne’s light expression. Vivienne wasn’t the type to pretend everything was fine, especially when her father was critically ill. She was never the playful type with strangers.

Before Adrian could speak, Vivienne interrupted.

“And since you’re a very skilled doctor, I’d need you to come by and see my father’s condition,” she added.

Adrian shifted, unsure if she was serious or just caught up in emotion. A part of him didn’t care for such invitations—most people only knew to praise the hospital or Dr. Franklin. They saw him as a nobody. But here was Vivienne, ignoring her own pride and recognizing him.

“Mrs. Vivienne, isn’t it too much to invite a mere doctor like Adrian to treat your honorable father?” Dr. Franklin said with a sarcastic laugh, his eyes filled with disdain. “Even I wouldn’t dare to lay hands on him—what makes you think a man like Adrian, who can barely feed himself as a lowly doctor, could do what I cannot?”

Vivienne raised a hand to silence him.

“I didn’t ask for your opinion, Dr. Franklin.”

She reached into her handbag and pulled out a sleek black card.

“Dr. Adrian, please—this is a token of my appreciation for saving my sister. I’d like to see you again to thank you properly,” she said, offering him the card with a warm smile.

Adrian hesitated. Most would have dismissed him without a second thought, but Vivienne was different. Despite her status, she didn’t ignore him. He took the card and slipped it into his pocket without a second glance.

“Thanks,” he muttered.

He had refused many people who offered him such appreciation whenever he saves their lives. They’d offer a token of appreciation sometimes as a mansion or expensive items.

David’s envy twisted his expression.

“What? Are you crazy? You ungrateful bastard—you should kneel and thank Mrs. Vivienne right now!” Dr. Franklin snapped.

The Lancaster card was a direct entrance to their empire. Anyone who had it was treated as a VVIP guest, a privilege even executives had to work years to earn.

Vivienne raised her hand again. “No need for that.”

She looked directly at Adrian. “And Dr. Foster, if my father’s health worsens, I’ll personally invite you to treat him. Please—can I have your number?” She handed him her phone.

Dr. Franklin, David, and Lina were all shocked. Even the city’s top elites had asked for Vivienne’s number, only to be politely turned down. But here she was, treating Adrian like gold.

“Mrs. Vivienne, he’s just trying to use you!” David barked. “This freeloader was dumped by his ex wife—he’s nothing but a coward who leeches off women. He’s only trying to get to you too!”

How did he find out so soon that Lyra had divorced him? Adrian thought. It's not thhhat strange in Vereluxe city, a city where information competes with the speed of lights.

But he fell silent as Vivienne’s dangerous gaze met his. He knew better than to push her further. Gritting his teeth, he walked away.

After typing his number, Adrian handed the phone back calmly.

“I’ll leave now,” he said, his voice steady and low as he turned and walked into the operating room.

Vivienne’s smile lingered, her eyes soft with something unspoken. She looked like she’d just discovered a treasure as she hurried away to check on her father’s condition.

Men in black hoods that covered their entire faces started to come out from the small ships that had landed on the ground. They looked to be around fifty or so of them that had landed, and more were still coming out of the big ship that was hovering above.Suddenly, a massive blast of energy shot toward the large ship in the air, and a loud explosion erupted from it.At first, it looked like the ship might lose its balance for a moment, but it quickly stabilized after shaking. There was no sign of damage at all on the black ship as it remained unfazed.“Hmm, that’s definitely strange. That ship took my strongest blast without any damage. This is more serious than I expected,” Owen muttered as he observed the surrounding situation. He had brought ten of his disciples along with him. They were all dressed in white robes that allowed free movement. It looked like ordinary clothing; however, it had a unique ability and could withstand some blasts. At least, it served as a form of protecti

Owen shrugged his shoulders with a sigh.He was just about to sit down when the message arrived, and he even wondered if his sister perhaps knew something like this would happen on a day like this—that made her invite him.Knowing his sister is why he didn’t hesitate when she invited him, because if she’s in trouble, he’d not sit back and watch her face it alone—at least not anymore. He’s promised himself that.“Are all the king’s guards dead or what? I wonder why you’d have to report something like this. Can’t they handle it?” Owen asked, facing the old man.“Doctor, I believe you’re not the type to report something like this if it’s not serious trouble for the guards…” the Queen said.Trying to understand the situation better, although she didn’t think much of it at first since it’s not at least strange enough for some intruders to suddenly start attacking the kingdom anyway. However, Orrathium Kingdom isn’t a place that regularly gets visits like this because many know it’s already

Far away in the Orrathium Kingdom, an old man could be seen walking into the queen’s castle.“Hmm, Queen… you certainly are still as bright as ever, my lovely sister,” Owen commented as he caught sight of her face. She couldn’t help but feel glad that he came so quickly after receiving her message.“Thanks for coming, brother. I know I must have caused you trouble since you don’t like leaving your small dojo.” The Queen wore a bright smile as she walked forward and gave Owen a warm hug.“Mm, I’m already old—don’t suffocate me. I won’t last long,” Owen joked as he gently pulled away from her tight embrace.Owen had white hair that fell to his shoulders. It looked neat and naturally charming, and despite his obvious age, he took great care of his skin—enough that he looked more like a younger brother to the Queen, almost youthful in comparison. However, Owen always kept his hands behind his back and walked slowly, a posture that reflected both his age and wisdom. Felix looked unfazed and calm despite the fact that the lightning ability the two had just revealed was a complete surprise to everyone in the faction, as they had never seen anything like it before. The crowd could only watch in stunned amusement, their thoughts scrambling to catch up.Even Fay, who was from a high-ranking faction, was certain that this wasn’t an ability that should even be possible. She simply couldn’t understand how it was real.Almost everyone had to blink twice just to be sure they were truly seeing what they thought they were.“Lightning ability, huh…” Felix mumbled as he studied the twins for a moment.Felix, of course, wasn’t surprised. It wasn’t his first time seeing a true lightning ability, nor would it be his first time fighting someone who wielded such power. However, what was surprising was the fact that people with lightning abilities weren’t supposed to be members of the Bree family—they originated from an entirely different kingdom. So if the Bree had

While Felix was dodging and using strange footwork to avoid his opponent’s blows, he was also doing something on the ground. On closer inspection, he had dropped something there from the very start of the fight, and when his opponent got close enough, instead of fighting back, he used his legs to spread the restraining poison he had prepared. The crowd was dead silent during the fight, many of them now regretting what they had said earlier. Because now that the official had declared Felix must fight his men, it could also mean he didn’t consider their faction to have won the challenge at all. Before, Darren had said he would only punish the faction if Felix failed to defeat Fizwell. However, that now seemed like just one of his schemes—he intended to continue sending his men against Felix even if he kept winning from the very beginning.“What’s going on?” Fay muttered.Because upon closer observation, she could see that Felix’s opponent seemed more sluggish than before—his movements s

“Now let’s see how he fares against his opponent,” Bay said with a grin on his face. The opponent he was facing had an even more terrifying aura than Fizwell. These weren’t just officials for show.Jax had left his position and moved closer so he could watch the fight more carefully this time and see how Felix would handle this one.He wasn’t sure whether Felix simply hadn’t been pushed to the point where he needed to use his Kareth, or if he was confident enough to handle the fight without it. If there was one thing he refused to believe, it was the narrative Bay had come up with—that Felix had only a small amount of Kareth and was trying to avoid the backlash. Although that could be the case, what made Jax certain it wasn’t had nothing to do with that at all—it was the fact that he couldn’t read any aura from Felix.Jax possessed a decent amount of Kareth himself, which meant anyone capable of hiding their aura from him had to be far above his level. And that was likely the case her
