Madilyn’s POV

I sat frozen in place as my entire room spun. My mind became foggy at the thought that Daddy’s “innocent daughter” went as far as deceiving him and everyone else just to get what she wanted.

I scoffed in amazement and clapped my hands together, but brought my tone down to prevent alerting the whole house of the gem I had just discovered. I was going to release it in the grandest way possible. They would be magnificently shocked to their bones. Especially Dad, who had always held her in high esteem as if she could do no wrong.

I laughed in scorn again, feeling proud of myself. I always knew it was a good decision to plant that bug there. Now, it was my lifesaver.

I shot up from my chair and rubbed my hands together, pacing in excitement.

The audio still played in my mind as I moved. Pretending, faking, friends. Oh my gosh! I won’t deny they are one smart fake couple, though! They got all of us so bad.

My lips slowly stretched into a wide, wicked grin. I could feel the mus

  • The Untouchable Heiress He Regrets Losing   A Kiss at Sunset

Zara’s POVThe image of Elora collapsing on the floor gave me more satisfaction than I had anticipated. She had always put up a venomous and monstrous look like she could devour anyone at any time. But today, she was softened and stripped of her mask, releasing the ugliest weakness and vulnerability I had always wanted to see.Since I got back from New York, it was the second most rewarding scene I had witnessed. The first was Zane being dragged like a thief from the Wesley Group he prided in so much, just to be thrown in a cell.I felt no pity for them. Only disgust. And I didn’t plan on stopping here. Not until they had both paid for all their sins.A smile broke out on my face as I remembered the look of hope on Elora’s face when I made her a promise. It was really bold of her to think I would stoop so low to her level and also keep the hideous thing she did a secret from the Shanes. Thankfully, because of her gullibility, I had Paulo’s address in hand–the key to clearing the scan

  • The Untouchable Heiress He Regrets Losing   When The Mask Falls

Elora’s POVI sat on the awfully exhausting thin mattress I had been sleeping on for the past two weeks. Sleep had been impossible since Mrs Shane visited because I had been longing to get out of this shithole, and at the same time worried that she was getting suspicious about me.I had told a lie, but being stuck in here had not let me know how deep it sank into her or if she had gone digging to find the truth. Did she see through my lie? I had been constantly haunted by the way her eyes darted into mine like she could read the truth on my face. My head had suddenly become a storm. Why had my mother tried to reach out to be through that means for heaven’s sake? I had constantly warned her never to come by my house or the Shanes’ mansion for any reason whatsoever. But she chose to do what her heart pleased to do this time. Damn her!If Mrs Shane had been able to get a hold of her that day, everything we had built for ten years would have come crashing down. Worst of all, Rosa left a n

  • The Untouchable Heiress He Regrets Losing   Let Yourself Be Loved

Zara’s POVLeo killed the engine of the car as we pulled onto our driveway. For a moment, neither of us moved. The air outside was cool, yet inside the car, heat surged through my body with how much tension was between us. I could feel he was still so angry at me for what I did.“Come on,” he said, voice low and distant. He got out before me and slammed the door harder than usual. I sighed before unbuckling my seatbelt and then got down. I walked slowly behind him. His movements were careful, but his fury brewed underneath.I placed my bag on the table and drew in a deep breath, bracing myself.Leo turned to me, with his arm crossed, and locked his eyes on me. “So, talk.” His voice was calm and sounded like he wouldn’t take a lie for an answer. “Tell me the whole truth.”I swallowed. I pulled out the photos Jamie gave me, along with the age-progression photo. He took it from me.“Elora Shane isn’t exactly Elora Shane. She’d Priscy Laurel–Rosa Laurel’s daughter,” I began.Leo’s eyes w

  • The Untouchable Heiress He Regrets Losing    The Truth Revealed

Zara’s POVI grabbed my phone and dialed Kelvin. Leo would have been the best option in finding out what I needed, but I wanted to keep him away, so I chose to call Kelvin instead. “Hey, Kelvin. Where can I go to verify how someone would look when they’re older if I only have a childhood photo?” My voice was deep with urgency. He gave an address, and I sped into action. I barely thanked him before hanging up.The neighbourhood I reached was quiet and even more desolate than the last. It was as though the things that were done here were not for the public eye. I entered a small office, my heels echoing very loudly through the silence. With trembling hands, I handed over my phone to the man at the desk. “Please,” I said. The specialist took it for me, printed out the photo, and started working. I sat down patiently, hoping the results would be out in minutes, but minutes turned into hours. Then he returned with a printed result.I snatched it from his hand impatiently. My breath hitc

  • The Untouchable Heiress He Regrets Losing    The Lie That Lived

Zara’s POVI pulled up the woman’s social media again to confirm the address. I memorized it and dragged myself out of bed. I wanted to sleep in more, but my desire to find answers was stronger. My stomach tightened as I drove. The city blurred past me, cars honking and pedestrians chatting, and vendors shouting. With every mile I was closer to the address, my pulse quickened and my chest shrank. The street was unfamiliar, narrow, and filled with houses. I wondered where her workplace could be if there were only residential houses in the area. I drove slowly around the area, looking out the window and at the map for some kind of shop at least. Until I saw one business standing out in the street, indicated by a wooden board that lists offers available in the local eatery.I parked my car on the opposite side of the road. My fingers gripped the steering wheel until my knuckles slightly ached as I thought of the best possible way to introduce myself and my purpose without sounding like

  • The Untouchable Heiress He Regrets Losing    Unspoken Truths at the Dinner Table

Leo’s POVThe day dragged like a heavy chain tied across my neck. I heard the clock tick at every passing second as I was being reminded of last night—the moment my lips betrayed me. The moment the words slipped louder and faster than I could comprehend.I never planned nor calculated it. I had expected my feelings to be revealed slowly and drastically in a way she would accept and not repel them. God knows I had held it long enough, buried in meetings, alliances, and strategies. Yet, when they came out, I didn’t entirely regret it. Not even for a single second.More than I wanted victory over Zane and Brad, I wanted to give both of us the kind of love we genuinely craved. I also dreaded being the reason she would have to keep lying to her dying father. I wanted her to stop lying to herself, to me.But now, as the sun had set and night had fully crept in, and she still wasn’t home, doubt plunged at my chest.Maybe it was too soon. Maybe I’d chosen the wrong timing or cornered her. May
