Hey my precious, I read your comments and wow. I didn't expect this much support and backlash. I love you all. really. I wanted to continue but I was so scared that you would think I was pushing the story too much so I decided to cut it short. I have so much to write about these babies but I didn't want to be that author that just goes on. Omg thank you for your support. I'll have a conversation with my editor about this. She would love a longer book too. There is a lottt to write about, I know. Thank you everyone. Maybe I'll extend this baby a little more. let me know when I start dragging it though. love you all so so much Always.
Dante's POVI found myself in a field, the laughter of children behind me, their giggles eluding me. This place was strangely familiar. It was like my brain could recognize where I was, even though I couldn't tell where. These memories the whole time were relatable, but I couldn't relate.A beautiful woman smiled at me and kissed my forehead before patting my ears."Be kind. Everything will be fine," she smiled before disappearing. The scene changed, and we saw Christopher running out of the house and getting into his car. I decided to follow him. As I rushed after him, I lost him. I'm somewhere...Soon, I couldn't find him. I kept on looking."Dante," Christopher's voice called to me. I was standing in an abandoned building, and Christopher was on the floor. His neck was snapped, and he was bleeding out. I called out to him but couldn't muster a word as I felt the life drain out of me.I was dying and couldn't save Christopher, no matter how hard I tried to move.I fell to my knees a
Christopher's POVSince Dante left, I’ve been moping around waiting for him to be back. He was supposed to come back after a day, but it’s been a week and he still wasn’t back.I was trying not to worry. I called him every night, and he was always moving from one country to another, trying to quell a rebellion. He called me whenever he was on the plane and talked to me until I fell asleep, but that wasn’t enough. I missed him, and it was beginning to show.At first, I tried to join in and have fun with everyone else, and I tried to forget about it, but it was like I was having withdrawal syndrome because I was finding it hard to even sleep at night.I slept only if he called me that night, and I slept to the sound of his voice, never cutting the video call.He watched me through the cameras. I told him to because I wanted to feel like he was there. He could see and sense what I was up to at all times. It was the only way I could cope. The sun was already setting, and I knew his call
Dante's POV The plane landed as the sun rose in Monte Carlo. The vampires would be going in, retiring to rest and keep things slow. This was the best time to strike. I needed to get done with things here so I could go help Eldritch later in the evening. I also had to be fast enough so they didn't have time to prepare a reaction. They all expected me to stay back with Christopher and not come running. They were banking on me being protective over Christopher. They would have been right if not for their gross miscalculations. I knew all the people I turned. If anyone betrayed me, I would find them out immediately.I trusted them entirely, and I knew they would do everything in their power to protect Christopher. Athena being there also made things easier. She was a close, trusted friend. She also found Christopher amusing enough to want him to remain alive and around. My house had wards around it, so I knew who came in and out, and as far as Christopher remained within those wards, he
Christopher's POVAfter he left to go pick Athena from the airport, I focused on my work, being the most productive I had been the whole day. With Dante not in the same room with me, I could finally use my head, not my dick.“Hey, isn't it time for your lunch?” Manson popped his head into my office.Dante's office, but I was using it while some of the staff were in my office.“Yeah?” I answered, typing.“Well, some of us wanted to try our hands at making human food, and we were wondering if you could help us out with, you know, the preparation and stuff,” he said, and I raised a finger, asking him to wait while I typed in the final digits for a document.“Okay, sorry, what?” I asked, finally looking up.“Ohh, food. Yeah, I can help,” I said, standing up.I still had some work to do, but it wasn't necessary or urgent like Dante had said, so I could take the time to do something else.Plus, I couldn't put it past Dante to have been the one to ask them to get me off my laptop.I walked o
Dante's POV I had been able to keep an eye on Lucien these past few days, and nothing had happened. His accomplice was nowhere to be found, but I knew it was only a matter of time.Lucien didn't know I had figured them out. I let him believe that I still trusted him by giving him all the normal duties he had.Athena was arriving today. I needed her to pry into Lucien or watch him for a few days.Catch something I missed.I didn't want to have to do this, but it was important, and she was the best person to do it. She was one of the people I trusted.I had a tracker on Lucien at all times, but he had probably figured it out. He also hadn't left the house except with me, trying to find a stranger or anyone with powers I had no idea about. It was a fruitless pursuit, but I did it so as not to alarm Lucien.Everyone was back to work, working from my house. They didn't do any serious work, but they did all the jobs needed to run the company. It was also a way to get their minds off what w
Christopher's POV I looked up from the game I was playing and caught sight of Dante at the door of the game room. The vampire I was playing took advantage of my distracted face and made the winning strike.I noted it when it was already too late.“Fuck,” I cursed as the game read Game Over.My turn was up.I stood up and someone else took my place, and Dante, who had been watching me from the door, smiled at me.He finally made it out of his office after the whole long talk he had. I smiled back at him and began to walk towards him.He was in front of me before I could take three steps.I still couldn't get over the vampire superspeed ability.I stared at him in awe and admiration as he leaned down and kissed me.“Come on,” he led me out of the loud room, and I followed him.“Have you had dinner yet?” he asked, and I shook my head.“Let's feed you,” he said, leading me to the kitchen. It was empty and quiet for the most part. I guess vampires didn't register the kitchen as somewhere
