Chapter Forty One : Frustration

Daniel's P.O.V

It wasn't the first time, I had seen Eleanor be weak. And, it definitely wasn't the first time I had seen her cry because of something that happened to her in the past which haunts her till now.

One of the reasons might be her mom's murder but not every single one of her traumas can come from there. Right?

I really don't know.

The pain and helplessness were as fresh if not more fresh than the first time I had felt them seeing her break into pieces at her doorstep as tears rolled down her cheeks, with a picture of her mother in her mind.

Somehow, Hailey was long forgotten. Not that she was ever between us either way.

"I cry a lot. Don't I?" Eleanor asked as a faint dry laugh passed her lips, her hands wiping away the trails of the tears on her cheeks.

But, there was just something that couldn't go unnoticed by me was the shivering of her fingers giving away her nervousness as she tore away her gaze from mine trying to shift the topic from its original course.
