KHAN.

“The agency sent an email.” Scott's voice pierced my ears. I was in the car, planning my next target. The blood running in the neck of humans was tasty, especially the easy ones. The ones that feared death. The ones whose eyes were as bright as a rainbow. Who had the most beautiful family and life? Those ones who did not want to die because they were enjoying life more than the others. Yes, those were my target.

“I need more information,” I said, stopping in the school cafeteria. I was at the city college, there I would find some sophomores. Girls with blue eyes and perfect skin. Sweet and gentle, popular amongst their peers. Worshiped by the mere student. The ones that enjoy the bliss of life.

“Its a mother and daughter,” he answered. I paused.

“Perfect.” And then I found her. She was exactly what I wanted. I stopped and watched her walk like a supermodel. She carried a designer bag, and her minions walked behind her as if they were being photographed.

“Emmie, you look beautiful. Emmie, I love everything about you.” The timid schoolgirls praised them as she headed out. Emmie was indeed pretty. She had hazel eyes that the sun over-emphasized. Her golden locs stopped at her waistline.

She wore heels and a short skirt. Her boobs were perfect and some cleavage was on display. Emmie was hot, all the guys took a picture of her. Emmie had an innocent look, she was like Barbie. Although the movie was dumb, I couldn't overlook the perfection that was given to the character.

A guy in glasses ran to Emmie, he had flowers in his hand.

“I got this for you, Emmie,” he said timidly.

Emmie stopped and then tucked her hair behind her ear.

“You wouldn't collect that, would you? Zach is a low low.” One of her friends stated the obvious with a disgusted look.

“No, I love Zach...” She turned to Zach who was now a blushing mess, he couldn't even look at her face.

“Zach, you don't want me to think of you as a low low right?” She asked and the dummy nodded.

“Then you are going to finish up my essay, type it, and send it to the teacher’s desk before tomorrow right?” She asked. Zach nodded gleefully like a little child given a large-sized candy.

“Good boy!” And she smiled and roughed his hair like she would to a dog. It was disgusting.

Emmie and her friends walked out.

“Zach is so stupid!” Emmie laughed and her friends joined her.

Emmie walked to her car after her friends waved her bye, they were probably going to talk about her later. I didn't know much about this stuff but Emmie was my target.

“Hi, Emmie.” She was about to open the car door when I whispered in her ears.

She balked, and quickly turned, meeting my face. The fear in her eyes disappeared as quickly as it came.

“Wow, you are hot,” she said, her eyes rounding.

“Your tattoos...” She trailed looking at my neck which was the only part of my body that was revealed.

“Shall I tell you what it means?” I asked and then winked.

Emmie blushed.

“We could go to your house and you could tell me all about it on your bed.” Emmie came nearer, yanking her hand out to touch me.

I smirked before moving closer, pinning her into the car, and looking into her eyes.

“Death.”

“Excuse me?” She raised her brows.

“They mean death, Emmie.” A sinister smile curled my lips and before fear could take over her face, my fangs were in her neck, slicing her blood pipe open. The first rush of blood filled my mouth and they taste superb, just the way I love them. These ones are the sweetest, the bullies. Emmie tried to scream but her palm which I had fitted in her mouth prevented her from doing so.

I yanked her head to the side giving me more access to her pump, allowing me garner her sweet fluid in my mouth. I hummed as I sucked her tightening giving no room for a spill.

“Enough, you are going to kill her.” Scott’s voice sounded in my ears before I felt his hand tap my back as if the bastard was soothing his girlfriend.

“Quit touching me!” I pulled away from Emmie and then slapped Scott’s hand off. The black bastard caught Emmie before she fell and then looked at the fang mark on the side of her neck.

“You know the agency can only take care of three persons per vampire a week right?” He looked at me.

“Do I look like I give a cent?” I wiped the corners of my lips with my fingers, a disgusted expression on my face. The agency banned vampires from killing humans which was not great - not like I ever followed the rule but Scott had a way of making me do so.

“You seem to be a neck person, Khan. Were you strangled in your past life?” He looked at me at the same time I glared at him.

“Ask me one more time and you might just not have a neck anymore.” The words rolled off my tongue. This bastard had gotten more threats than compliments since he started to work with me.

Scott called the agent and they were able to take care of Emmie, I did put in a few requests, the bitch might not remember her name or who Zach was anymore.

“Did you hear what I told you earlier Khan?” Scott asked. I took out a cigarette from its box and put it in my mouth.

“Don’t smoke in the car, man!” Scott yanked it from my mouth and then threw it out the window. I did not bother to wrestle with him.

I took another in my mouth and he repeated it.

“Listen to me.” He smiled.

“Do you want to smile to death?” I growled, my chest rumbling.

“Your next targets are in Manyon city, you are going to be killing a mother and her daughter. The mother is Bianca and the daughter is named Kate. Got it?” He asked.

I looked out the window, he lost me at their names. I did not care about the names of my victims, well except the bullies. And then her, I cared enough to know her name. My darling Scarlett. She walked up to me, bravery in her eyes and she asked me if my blood could heal her mother’s cancer. I know it couldn't but her mother was my target. She had to die. Any target the agency sent my way had to die.

But I knew Scarlett, and I have always wanted to have a taste of her even when I was human - then it was pure now I was dark. I took the opportunity even when I knew her mother would only die faster with my blood in her system. I couldn't resist her pure eyes. Brown, courageous, and clean eyes. Scarlett was the same girl then and now. But, I have changed. A taste of her was not enough though, I wanted more and more. The silly crush I had on her must have turned into some dark obsession but I knew she wasn't mine to have. She was too clean. She was light. She was divine. Previous. Gem.

Someone like me was only fortunate to be able to taste her once. I knew when she left town but I never pursued her. I thought of her every day and even when I had all of the sources to find her, I did not. Scarlett was better without me.

“Manyon City, why should I go there?” I looked at Scott.

“For work, we can come back immediately after you are done. You know you can't reject the agency’s job. You can't,” he said.

They know how much I didn't like Manyon City yet they are sending me over there? I wanted to reject it badly.

“What can they do?” I looked away, picked up another cigarette, and lit it up.
