Dropped Into Action

"I'll be at the corridor waiting.. Incase you need my help...." Diana said and then heaved a sigh, "an angry sigh" "just three minutes" she added and then opened the door and went out. She knew in not more than three minutes time, Jason would come to her, begging her to come treat his mother.

It's already two minute since she left the room and not even Jason or the doctor bothered about her absence. The Doctor was busy with Sonia's acupuncture treatment and he was already and entirely drenched in sweat. Soon, he finally inserted the last silver needle in the acupoint in Sonia's chest.

Dr Steve had not much confidence in the treatment that he had just administered, thus, he watched closely. "Sonia ought to have opened her eyes by now" he got worried. Once an acupuncture treatment is carried out on a patient, immediately the last needle is inserted, he or she regains consciousness and opens his or her eyes, but, why was she yet to open her eyes?

Thirty seconds more had elapsed making it two minutes, thirty seconds since Diana exited the room.

"Doctor? Is everything alright? She ought to regain her consciousness and open her eyes by now right?" Jason questioned as he was almost close to accepting the reality of what was happening.

Before the Doctor could respond, Sonia began to tremble violently, she looked to be experiencing an excruciating pain as she began to experience an epileptic seizure and that made it more weird. She was not suffering from epilepsy but how?

"Mum... Mum...!" Jason yelled as he turned to the doctor with a panic-struck self, "Dr Steve do something... Why is this happening?"

At that moment, even Dr Steve was lost in the land of thoughts as he mentally scrolled through his options and all that he has studied about acupuncture. He knew he was not a professional but this couldn't have been the result .....

He felt so distressed, "I don't ...I don't really know what's happening...why it turned out this way... This ought not to be the result......" He blurted out.

"What garbage are you spewing? You're the doctor here and you don't know why? " Jason roared at the doctor in despair and desperate recklessness.

Meanwhile, Sonia's shiver was beginning to grow faint gradually, and then she finally stopped moving, even her breath couldn't be felt at all.

Seeing the change in Sonia's case, Dr Steve's panic intensified. If anything happens to Sonia, he would have to suffer grave consequences.

"Let me call the ambulance quickly...." The doctor suggested again. He needed something or someone to Shirk the responsibilities into. If Sonia dies in the hospital, clearly it'd not be his fault but if in his hands now? He can't even imagine the hell Jason would make him experience. Jason was not just a low-key billionaire that everyone knew, he had way more secrets....

Dr Steve then unearthed his phone and after the third set of ring with no response, he sighed in panic and anger.

"My mum is dying you son of a bitch....!" Jason exploded, he already lost his rational mind. Given his mum's condition. There were no way she would make it to the hospital, the doctor had even stated it before now that she can't make it on time and now he wants to take her to the hospital?

"Do you think I'm dumb?"

"You better save her now! Don't even think you'll survive this unscathed if she doesn't make it!" Jason threated, this time more annoyingly that it startled the doctor.

Jason's family is one of the most powerful and wealthiest family in Delta city. Each heir becomes the executioner of the succeeding Queen of the Quins royal empire. Jason's father was an executioner to Catherine and now, Jason is an executioner to Catherine's student. Catherine had willingly past the position to Diana.

An executioner is the personal guard to the queen of the quins royal empire and destroying a lowly Doctor would take no more than a flick of his fingers.

Immediately, Dr Steve began to rack on his brain, he was completely terror stricken by his threat. He hoped the threats were empty treats, but they were not. Then it is occured to him......

Diana........

"What about that young lady that you sent out few minutes ago? She might know one or two and perhaps provide a solution. I think she probably has something to offer.." Dr Steve quickly suggested.

Once the words registered in Jason, it reminded him of Diana. Still, he can't have forgotten that few minutes ago, Dr steve as well looked down upon her and now he thinks she probably has something to offer?Evidently, Dr Steve was planning on letting Diana take the blame.

Once she steps in and then starts to treat Sonia, even if she is probably dead, Steve would be able to dispell and same time dissolve himself of any responsibility.

"Maybe, just maybe she knows one or two... Afterall she is the Queen of the Quins royal regiment...", Jason thought. After a moment of hesitation, he let go off Sonia who slumped lifelessly on the bed as he darted out of the bedroom.

When he got to the corridor, he was surprised to see Diana there, obviously waiting for something or someone.....it's already some seconds past three minutes.

Jason quickly rushed to her, and just when he wanted to speak, Diana interrupted his awkward expression. "Don't worry..." She said as she gradually raised her at him, Jason could only help but avert his gaze. Not long ago, he tactically called her on the carpet and now he is begging her.

Looking at his reaction, Diana only chuckled.

Following Diana back to the room, Jason saw Dr Steve listening to Sonia's heartbeat but once he realized they had entered the room, he got up with his head covered in cold sweats.

The moment he saw Diana, he smiled diabolically but internally as he felt he has seen his savior. He could easily push the blame to her once she took over with her the treatment. But if she saves her... Goodluck to her...

Despite the possibilities of Dr Steve losing everything, he felt it would not hurt to be polite to her so, he potentially lowered himself and apologized.

Diana ignored the sudden change of Steve's attitude towards her as she shoot Sonia a glance, "Time to exercise my fingers!" She said and dropped into action.

"Do you have any seirin needle in your medical bag?" Diana asked as she felt the pulse at Sonia's neck. It was barely moving.

"Seirin needle?" Dr Steve was stunned.

"Yes. A set of 0.35cm" Diana responded.

"Seirin needles? A set of 0.35cm seirin needles?" He was further stunned. Over his years as a medical doctor he has never learnt or heard of any medical expert using a 0.35cm long seirin needle for acupuncture,each time it had been unsuccessful and it has long been forgotten and dumped.

However, he always has a set of such needles with him. He quickly brought it out and gave it to him.

"Do you have another set?" Diana inquired.

"Yes, why?"

"These ones won't be enough. I need more...." Diana explained.

A set of 0.35cm long seirin needles contains 24 each and no one in entire History has used a seirin needle, even the normal silver needle that is commonly used, only the expert and president of the association of traditional medicine could insert a whole 24 silver needles and till date he has not even used a seirin needle and as a result, 24 seirin needles should be enough.

Now.... This young lady wants how many?

"How many more? Steve finally asked.

"Another set..." Diana responded warmly as she stretched her fingers.

Seirin needles were painless gold needles....

Dr Steve was stupefied by her response. She needs forty eight seirin needles??????? What for?
