Myra sat on Cole’s laps as the three major race held something of an emergency meeting, a meeting which was not planned but it was necessary as Caleb, the artistic vampire leader who was not much in the public’s eyes before the betrayal was now pacing around, looking every bit as stressed as he was at first when he was made to leave the shadows and be more hands on about his race. “I cannot have a mate…” Caleb blurted out and Moe winced visibly. “No, no. Myra really wanted to go outside and maybe take a breath, all alone without disturbing anybody with her anger. “I hate the thought of Moe hurting. I cannot believe that he has the gut to not accept his mate at first sight.” Myra ranted even in Cole’s arms. Caleb was already in deep pain, wondering what the hell was happening and why his being kept feeling like it was being spilt in twos. The pain started small, reached a crescendo and then return back to the small state all to begin again. He was not only tired of the pain but he was ready for it to end. He had even started to beg unseen entities that he wasn’t really the one who did the rejection and that it should not be possible for an acceptance to a rejection which he didn’t issue out. And even through the pain, thoughts came to his head, when his mate, Hannah had died, the pain he felt was self-induced, he went into isolation and was nearly feral and through that dark phrase, he still had control of himself and he could pull himself back from the brink of insanity. “What are you?” Carson asked Myra, she was currently in the middle of a circle made of council members from Luminary and Feeders which were the vampires. The vampires were looking particularly angry about her actions and Myra could understand why they were angry. She had incapacitated their friend and fellow leader and nobody including herself could tell what would have happened to Caleb if they hadn’t rushed in to save Caleb. And there was the little fact that she was powerful enough to negate Caleb powers and make him defenseless and her mother never thought that she should tell others what she could do. Also another thing which was stack up against her. His mate was the one who was wrong. Cole was aware of that fact. Just like he was also aware of the fact that Carson and Vince escalated the argument. He knew that it meant something, that they thought it was best if the world thought that they were back to being at each other’s throats and normally, he would have dropped Myra back in their room and go to his study immediately so he could try and contact the two other leaders to ask what was happening but why the make believe argument but he was more concerned about his mate. Which was why he didn’t leave her side even after dropping her on the bed and then proceeded to cuddle her. Cole didn’t add to his earlier words, he just sat back, resting his back against their bed’s headboard while watching Myra. The best way for him to tell his mate is lying to him was to watch her facial expressions and to see if she would tell the truth. “Cole, what are you trying to say with that statement?” Myra asked calmly too. “I am not trying to say anything but the truth. It is enough to break the mate bond. Mate bond exists because each individual involved believes at least, that the partner that is with them in the bond will not hurt them. It is basic trust form. Cole got to his office and changed back to his human form and immediately regretted it, he wanted to return to his wolf form because he felt freer from the emotions of his heart then. He was desperately trying not to think about his mate but he was helpless in that feat as his mind kept revolving round her, going back to her over and over again.
