We got back to the castle, and I wearily headed towards my office.  Lia met me at the door.

“My king, I put your mate in your bed.  She is tired and she suffered an emotional loss.  You should join her.”

I shook my head.  “I have to speak with those that were in town,” I said.  “I gave orders that they were to wait for me in my office.”

Jarrett shook his head.  “My king, I sent everyone to rooms in the castle.  No one is leaving but I must speak with you before you speak with them.”

I looked at Jarrett with concern.  He rarely went against my orders and when he did, I knew it was for a good reason.
