KACELA
Wyatt wanted to drive my dad’s pickup from the hotel back to the pack. I didn’t mind; the road was dark and he would know the dirt road a lot better than I would. I avoided looking out the back window; I didn’t want to see my dad’s wolf laying there.
I wasn’t sure how I felt. The older I got, the further apart my father and I grew. I know now that it had a lot to do with his wolf and the fact that I also had one. I wondered what happened between him and my brother and if my brother had a wolf. I would have to ask my mom.
I checked my watch and saw that it was later than I thought. My mom and Everett should be landing shortly and then Everett would take her to my apartment. I smiled ruefully. Everett was going to get his wish and be able to drive my jeep. I hoped my mom had the fortitude to handle that.
Wyatt turned off from the main road on to the dirt road leading into his pack lands.
WYATTWe got back to the castle, and I wearily headed towards my office. Lia met me at the door.“My king, I put your mate in your bed. She is tired and she suffered an emotional loss. You should join her.”I shook my head. “I have to speak with those that were in town,” I said. “I gave orders that they were to wait for me in my office.”Jarrett shook his head. “My king, I sent everyone to rooms in the castle. No one is leaving but I must speak with you before you speak with them.”I looked at Jarrett with concern. He rarely went against my orders and when he did, I knew it was for a good reason.“Speak to me,” I said. He looked over a Lia and she gave a barely perceptible nod. I knew it was going to be bad.“Jason was killed tonight. He was freshly killed when the warriors went to warn him. It is b
KACELAWyatt lifted me to my feet, the shower spray hitting his back and spraying a fine mist everywhere. I smiled at him, tentatively, not sure if I pleased him or not. He sensed my trepidation and put his hands on each side of my face, bringing my mouth to his and kissing me, gently at first and then more authoritative.I relaxed in his arms, the warmth of the shower soothing my tired muscles. He continued to kiss me, pushing my back up against the shower wall. I reached forward and held his shoulders. He responded by capturing my hands and holding them above my head while he continued to kiss me.He shifted slightly, moving my wrists together and grabbing them with only one of his hands. The other hand traced a light line from my ear down to my waist, then over to my belly. His hand dipped even lower, teasing my slit. I moaned and pushed my hips towards him.He pulled back and smiled at me. “You wan
WYATTWe joined everyone in the dining room twenty minutes later. Kacela had put her long hair in braids and pulled it up on top of her head, looking extremely exotic and mysterious. One skinny braid hung down over her face, somewhat obscuring her scar and blind eye. She forwent her typical hoodie and, instead, put on jeans and a tank top with a cropped sweater over the top. She looked casually regal, if that was a style. She faltered a moment when she opened the dining room door but the hesitation was momentarily and not noticed by anyone else. She went in and over to the buffet, selecting a sandwich and some chips, bringing them to our typical table. She ignored the silence that had settled the moment she walked in.Finally, someone broke the silence.“Why are we eating with a traitor?” he shouted. I frowned, looking around for the heckler. It didn’t take long to ident
KACELA I put down my fork and looked at Nellie. “How?” I asked. She looked at Wyatt. “He can do the King’s Precept.” I looked at her, confused. “What’s that?” “It’s like an Alpha Command but bigger and more powerful. Only Lycan Kings can do it.” She popped a piece of cake in her mouth and acted like the conversation was over. I was still confused and looked at Wyatt for explanation. “She’s never been part of a pack,” Wyatt explained to Nellie, gently. He looked at me. “An Alpha Command is given by the alpha of a pack. It can not be disobeyed. Your wolf won’t let you. A King’s Precept is like that except more. I can give a command to anyone under my rule, and they must obey. I can ask a question and demand an answer and I will get it.” He looked at Nellie. “It’s painful to receive a King’s Precept. And it’s draining to give one, let
WYATTDex was sitting next to the lake, just looking out and enjoying the moonlight on the rippling water. It calmed the both of us; we were anxious from our conversation with Nellie. I knew she had a good idea, but I hesitated. I worked so hard to overcome the taint of my father’s rule and to make the pack strong again. I didn’t want people beginning to panic nor did I want to even tempt myself with that sort of power. I didn’t know if my father’s narcissism was a hereditary trait, but I’d rather not find out.I could hear someone coming through the woods and I was irritated. Dex, on the other hand, turned up his nose and began sniffing the air and then wiggled with joy.Dali, he said to me.I could now hear smell her scent, the gentle fragrance of jasmine, vanilla and citrus that I’ve grown to love. I stilled, not wanting to scare her. We saw her emerge fr
KACELAWyatt spread out the blanket and I looked at him lustfully. The air was cool and the breeze blowing across my naked body was somewhat erotic. I could feel my nipples perk in the air and I knew Wyatt noticed. His member stiffened.I dropped to my knees and sat back, looking up at him. He groaned and then knelt in front of me, reaching forward and entwining his hands in my hair. He brought my face to his and then his lips found mine. I immediately felt warmer. He leaned me backwards, supporting me until I was completely on my back and he was on top of me. He looked down my body and then up at my face.“You are so beautiful,” he said, softly. “So supple but so strong.” He traced a finger down my side and I shivered.“Are you cold?” he asked.I nodded. “You can warm me up,” I whispered, opening my legs.
KACELAWyatt gave the orders to his attendants to move my belongings to his room. Most of the attendants looked pleased but there were a few that had stormy faces. Despite Wyatt’s reassurances, I knew that I had my work cut out for me. I wasn’t liked most places I went, due to my chosen occupation, however I didn’t want to make things harder for Wyatt. And, even though I wasn’t telling Wyatt this, I was considering not having a long distance relationship. I was considering staying here with him.We convened in his private office located on the same floor as our bedrooms. I discovered that I, too, had an office on this floor. I was really going to have to take the time to explore the castle at some point soon.We asked Jarrett and Lia to join us. I also suggested Nellie, but for some reason Wyatt didn’t want that. I don’t know if he had second thoughts about what he told me
KACELA Stunned silence met my statement. Finally, Lia broke it. “But she’s a woman,” she began. I shook my head. “Some women don’t have the ability to feel compassion or empathy. And, for those, unless they’ve personally experienced it, it is too easy to justify.” Lia looked sick. Wyatt slowly nodded his head. “Proximity, she has. And she would have been able to overhear the conversation with Jarrett’s dad and myself about using you to take down Jones.” Wyatt slammed his fist down on the table. “I should have seen it. She’s had opportunity to overhear almost all of our conversations.” I was sympathetic. “You’re in the midst of all of this. I’m not. Sometimes an outsider sees what you can’t when you’re emotionally involved.” Wyatt smiled at me, but it was Lia who spoke. “You’re not an outsider anymore, Kacela. I hope you see that.” I look
