Lucas
Lucas was beyond excited when Kayla agreed that he could drive her home. He had felt blighted when she refused initially but then her mother called her to say she couldn't make it. It was like the universe was helping to get them together. She was the quiet type, Lucas thought as Kayla sat quietly in the passenger's seat close to him.
After she came down and thanked him, they both stared at each other for some time. It was like some sort of magnetic force was pulling them together but Lucas resisted. Not yet, he told himself. He still had to deal with the issue of her being a human. He still had to talk to his father, the Alpha, about her.
She was all he thought about as he drove home. His house was located in a community partially hidden in a groove and surrounded by trees.but not a lot of people knew that. By the time he drove to the end of the road leading out of Hillcity, there was usually no one going that direction.
He thought about Kayla as he drove through the familiar road and about his father and what he would say about all of it. He also thought about his half brother Derrick who had been a constant thorn in his flesh. He would sneer at him for sure. Derrick hated Lucas and he always had.
As Lucas arrived at "The groove" which was actually the name of their werewolf community, he couldn't help the anxiety that was squeezing at his chest. Even his wolf was feeling it too and it shifted uncomfortably inside of him. He was the next Alpha of the Lucent pack and his choice of a mate was almost as important as breath.
Lucas finally arrived home and after packing his car outside his father's gigantic white mansion, he walked into the great hall to meet his father. His father, Alpha Duke, was having a meeting with his Betas when Lucas walked in. Lucas bowed down to his father in greeting and Alpha duke signified for him to wait while he finished up. In a short while the meeting was over and the Alpha dismissed everyone. He signalled to Lucas to sit with him at the table. Lucas sat down and faced his father wondering where he was going to start from. He knew he had to start somewhere and soon as his father was a busy man.
"I met my mate today," Lucas said, his voice shaking. He watched his father's eyes light up with excitement.
"You don't say. It was about time anyway. I was already thinking of throwing a ball and inviting all the unmated young werewolf girls so you could find your mate. But I'm glad you found her already" Alpla Duke stroked his long beard thoughtfully and gave Lucas one of his very rare smiles. At 6.5, the Alpha was a bulky giant. He had golden brown hair like Lucas's and black eyes like Derrick's. He observed Lucas thoughtfully as if he could tell that there was more to his story.
"Who is she?" Alpha Duke asked
"She's...there's a little problem. She's human" Lucas said
Alpha Duke's face strengthened suddenly in surprise.
"A human...and you're sure she's your mate?" The Alpha pressed
"Yes. I've never experienced anything like it before. The moment i saw her, it was like the world stopped moving and i felt a rush of joy in my heart" Lucas said and then realising he was smiling, he quickly put up a serious face.
The Alpha started to chew the inside of his cheek and Lucas knew he was just as worried as he was. He did that when he was seriously thinking about something.
"She won't survive here. Not in a wolf's pack. Not as a Luna" His father said and looked at Lucas.
Lucas said nothing. He really did not know what to say.
"We have to fix this' ' Alpha duke said, giving Lucas a serious look. It took Lucas a while to realise what the Alpha was saying. When an Alpha wolf had been fated by the goddess, they couldn't take another mate unless their ordained mate should die by any means. Then and only then can the moon goddess fate him to someone else
"No" Lucas shook his head "I'm not going to kill her" he said, frowning
"You have to do what needs to be done. Having the heart to make and follow through with difficult decisions is what makes one a true Alpha" his father said. Lucas stared at his father in shock. How could be be so cruel. He wasn't going to kill an innocent girl just because he had been fated to her.
"I can't kill her" he said again to his father
The Alpha gave him a hard look, his eyes piercing right through him.
"It is such a shame that a man of my courage would have a sorry excuse of a son like you. You're dismissed" the alpha ended angrily. Lucas stood up and bowed a little before leaving his father's presence. It was unfair of his father to treat him the way he did. He had served the Alpha well. He had obeyed his every command. Until now. As Lucas was leaving the great hall, he saw a shadow move at the window by the left side of the hall. He wondered who it was but then realised it could only be one person. As he walked outside, he could feel the shadow walking in the same direction he was. When he got outside, he saw Derrick come into view. He was sneering. He had hid himself at the window and listened to Lucas's conversation with the Alpha. His black eyes looked at Lucas with spite. Lucas made to move away.
"Hey wimp" Derrick said and Lucas stopped in his tracks. If you're too chicken to do it, i can do it for you" he said
Lucas turned to face him. He was fuming.
"If you lay one finger on her, I'm going to kill you" Lucas said.
Derrick laughed
"I see you must be ready to join your mother in hell" Derrick said
Lucas threw him a punch.

Kayla didn't want to go home with Lucas. She knew that one look and one kiss, and she would start doubting her senses and her suspicions. The last thing she wanted was to be sidetracked from her mission of finding out what was behind that handsome scarred face and beautiful eyes. She had called her mother after lunch to confirm she was coming to pick her up. Mitchel was beginning to relax since Lucas had started dropping her off. Of course, Mitchel thought she was taking the bus, but she hated waiting for the bus. Hopefully, very soon, she will get her car and will be able to drive herself home. She wasn't exactly a fan of driving, and she had failed her driving test, but she would probably need to take it again and get her license. After their last class, Charlotte, Ava, and Kayla had walked out of the school together. Kayla had not been able to get any time alone with Charlotte, but she had managed to get two of her magazines. One of the contents was titled ‘Strange Beings in Hill C
LucasAt the close of school, Lucas sat inside his car and stared at the entrance of the school, waiting for Kayla to come out. He had thought of just sitting on the trunk of the car while he waited, but he decided against it. He would be too visible, and he was still careful about Derrick seeing him with Kayla. He had noticed her staring at him in the cafeteria during lunch. He had initially thought that she wanted to get naughty with him, as he was already thinking of where they could do it. But then he smiled at her, and he noticed that she immediately looked away. Something was definitely off with her. Was she still feeling bad about yesterday? It really wasn't a big deal, but perhaps he needed to talk to her again today and assure her that he wasn't mad at all and that he understood why she had reacted the way she did, and he did understand. They were teenagers, and nobody would be happy about their teenage daughter being locked up in a room with a guy. They would probably have
Kayla“Are you and Lucas together?” Charlotte asked Kayla as they had their lunch in the cafeteria Kayla froze. Charlotte had caught her staring at Lucas again. That must be why she asked. “ No, why?” Kayla asked, trying to act surprised “Ava saw you leaving in his car the other day,” Charlotte said. Kayla glanced at Ava, and Ava winked at her.She was torn on what to say. She didn't like that she couldn't be with Lucas without feeling like she was betraying her friends. She really likes him. Why couldn't they just be happy for her? She felt like telling Ava to mind her business, or taking her tray and walking away, but she knew they would be overdramatic. “Well, we're not like dating, or anything like that,” she said “Well, are you guys banging?” Ava asked”Kayla's jaw dropped. She didn't expect Ava to be so blunt and so invasive into her life. What have these girls been talking about behind her back?Kayla was lost for words, so she picked up her bottle of juice and took a sip.
Lucas wondered what all that was about. He watched Kayla stand hesitantly close to the door before she began to move towards him tentatively. "I'm sorry about that," she said. He didn't know what to make of her apology. What was she sorry about exactly? The fact that she had shoved him into a corner to hide him, or the fact that her mother showed up when she was supposed to be at work. "Hem..what was that all about?' he had to know. If he was being honest with himself, he had felt a little humiliated having to hide behind a curtain like a rat. He had never been with anyone before who would rather hide him. He could understand that Kayla might have been a bit nervous to see that she was alone in the house with a boy, but she wasn't exactly a child. And also, wouldn't it be better for her if she allowed her parents to know that she was having a relationship with him?"I don't know..I panicked," Kayla said"My mom can get very suspicious of things, so…I just didn't want to have to sit
LucasLucas had thought he was winning at this game. It was still a surprise to him how everything turned around. He had to hand it to Kayla, though; nicely played. They both now had only their underwear on, and all he could think of was clasping her body to his and playing with those distracting breasts. Slowly, Lucas took down his shorts as Kayla burst into laughter. She gasped as she saw his rock hard cock pointing at her threateningly. Lucas started to advance towards her, but Kayla ran into the bathroom, and he ran in after her. He caught up with her before she could shut the door of the bathroom and clasped her body to his. They stayed that way for a while with Kayla feeling his hardness against her bare tummy. She could also feel the warm wetness between her legs. Lucas moved his hands down her back and pressed on her buttocks. Kayla tensed excitedly. She could feel his breathing coming more rapidly as he started to kiss her face. Just then, Kayla heard
Kayla opened the door to her room, and they both walked in. The room suddenly looked and felt different with Lucas standing by her side. It was like there was soft, slow romantic music playing in the background, and everything looked more beautiful. She realised that she was seeing it in a new light for the first time. "Cozy," Lucas commented, looking around. He moved to her bookshelf and pulled out a book."The alchemist..very hopeful book," he said"You've read it?" Kayla asked, impressed that he reads "I have indeed," he said and carefully fitted it back into the shelf."So what do you usually do immediately after coming back from school?"Lucas asked her"Well.. normally I would be having my bath by now, "Kayla said softly, her voice teasing."Oh well.." Lucas said and moved closer to her. "Why don't you do that, young lady?" Kayla chuckled"I will…on one condition," she said"Let's hear it, " Lucas said, his face so close to hers now they were almost touching."I'll get in the
