LOGINChapter 7
Yvonne's Pov The Council chamber looked nothing like the room we had left minutes ago. When everyone ran out due to the emergency in search of the twins, the room had been quiet and formal. But right now, it was chaotic. The councilors were all speaking and shouting at the same time. Guards tried to hold the room steady but they seemed to fail at that. In the middle of everything, Celeste was standing alone in her velvet gown. She had probably worn the dress expecting to walk out of this ceremony one step closer to becoming Darkmoon’s next Luna. Instead, her supposed alpha had bolted off at the sign of his children missing without saying a single word at her. Now nobody was even looking at her, Every eye in the chamber had turned towards my family instead as we walked backed to the raised dais. “SilverCrest security was compromised from inside.” An older alpha was saying to the man beside him. He didn't even bother lowering his voice as we walked past. His hair was styled and grey, and I didn't recognize the crest on his chest. He was probably one of those clans under my father. “If the great Darius Silvercrest couldn't protect his own nursery, that means there's trouble for the rest of us.” “It looked more like someone wanted those children and had been preparing for it for a while.” The other man answered quietly. “Now the real question is who is it? Who could be so fearless enough to face Alpha Darius.” My father's back went stiff beside me but he didn't slow down as he continued walking, paying less attention to the murmurs. The noise suddenly dropped the moment they were aware of our presence in the chamber. “Alpha Darius.” The elder Councilman who was leading the ceremony rushed towards us. He was still holding the ledger wide open as if he didn't know what else to do with his hands. “What happened? Is it true about the nursery?” He asked. “My grandchildren were taken from inside the mansion,” my father said. His voice echoed loud enough for the whole chamber to hear him, leaving no room for rumors to grow. “The tunnel used to take them has been sealed from the other side using magic. We are treating this as a serious breach from within our own walls, and every person in this room tonight will cooperate with the investigation.” Another batch of murmurs grew through the crowds. I caught two alpha’s exchanging a look that made my skin crawl. “An internal breach.” The grey-haired Alpha repeated the words slowly amidst the silence. “Forgive me, Darius, but that raises a very uncomfortable question. If Silvercrest’s own walls cannot be trusted, why should the rest of us trust this clan with a sacred bloodline such as this?” “Be careful, Aldric,” my father's voice was low and flat. “You are still standing in my house.” His voice carried through the hall. Aldric’s expression faltered a bit but he quickly masked it with a fake smile that didn't reach his eyes. He lifted his hands, feigning peace. “I'm only asking what every Alpha here is already thinking.” He insisted, his voice having no malice at all and it made the scene even more disturbing. I felt Gideon's whole body tensed beside me. A low growl was beginning to build in his chest. I quickly placed my hand around his arm before he could do something we would all regret in front of half the supernatural world leaders. He glanced at me in surprise but held himself back after seeing the look on my face. Just then, someone ran into the chamber. Ronan. His coat was torn at one shoulder, his hair was a mess like he had been struggling with someone. There was a fresh cut that hadn't been there on his jaw line. Every trace of the composed arrogant man from the start of the ceremony was completely gone. “They're gone,” his voice was raw. “I felt the connection between them, sensing they were in trouble. I saw someone that looked suspicious. We got into a struggle and then—” his voice dropped. He looked at us like we weren't going to believe the next thing he was about to say. “And then what, Ronan?” My voice was high pitched, I could already feel my blood boiling. “The person vanished into thin air.” He breathed. I gawk at him. Was he being serious? My twins were missing and he thinks this is some sort of game? Just how much was he willing to go to hurt me. I scoffed loudly and all eyes fixed on me. “You felt a connection between them?” I asked and his lips parted like he couldn't believe it himself. “You ran out of your own rejection ceremony to check on the children you've called burdens since the day they were conceived and you expect me to believe anything you say?” “I felt they were in danger,” he said. For once, there was no calculation behind his words or maybe there was but I couldn't find any. “You didn't show up at the hospital, Ronan,” my voice came out thinner than I wanted, making me swallow hard. I can't let him see me break. “You didn't come when they nearly died being born. But you ran after them the moment you thought there was danger.” I chuckled bitterly. His jaw tightened,he didn't say a word to defend himself. I turned towards my Father, refusing to let this whole thing turn into a moment where his guilt mattered more than my missing children. “We don't have time for this Father. Someone inside Silvercrest did this and every second we spend delaying is costing me my babies lives.” “Let me help, Yvonne.” Ronan said, and there was something almost close to pleading in his voice. “Darkmoon has trackers, warriors, whatever you need, it's yours.” “We don't need Darkmoon's Charity.” Leo, who hasn't said anything since all this chaos started, finally spoke. His voice was so quiet I almost forgot he was there all this time. He was the most quiet one among my brothers and also the closest to the babies and I could tell this was taking a toll on him. “It's not charity.” Ronan looked at my brother. “It's mine to give, they are my children too and I'll do whatever it is I can do to help.” My father studied him for a while, the kind of look that would make any man lower their eyes. “Your resources would be considered.” He said finally. “But there will be conditions attached to it. You won't be getting any custody, and no talk of reconciliation from my daughter.” “I only want our children's safety, nothing else.” Ronan Said. I didn't say anything. This was the same man that didn't have time for drama when I was bleeding during labor, when I needed his help. Behind him, completely forgotten in all the chaos, Caleste stood completely still. Her face had gone pale and her eyes kept darting towards the exit, like she was in a hurry to get somewhere. I shook my head and ignored her, she probably couldn't stay in a place where she wasn't the center of attention. “Councilman,” my father called, facing the elder who was still gripping his ledger. “This ceremony is suspended until further notice. Every guest should stay in this hall until my chief of security has taken a statement from each person and anyone who refuses will be treated as a suspect.” The chamber broke into another set of protests. Alphas who had probably never been told what to do once in their lives were now being ordered to stay out inside someone’s house. My father couldn't care less about the noise, he didn't even flinch at the glares. I turned away from everything going on and placed my hands on my chest, the thread was still there but had become extremely faint. My wolf was unusually quiet and I could tell she was as hurt as I was. “Hold on my babies, mummy will get you.” I whispered to myself. I don't care what it'll cost me, I'll find my babies.Chapter 7Yvonne's Pov The Council chamber looked nothing like the room we had left minutes ago. When everyone ran out due to the emergency in search of the twins, the room had been quiet and formal. But right now, it was chaotic. Chapter 6 Yvonne pov “Lockdown! Seal every exit now! Every staff member in the main hall in the next two minutes!” Julian's voice cut through the estate loudly, sending cold chills down almost everyone. This is the first time I'll be hearing him speak this way. He didn't sound like the usual composed strategist who usually spent hours staring at files. He sounded different, something almost close to panic. The guards moved in all directions, their boots pounding heavily against the tiled marble floor. Somewhere down the hall, one of the staff muffled sobs carried through the hall. She probably didn't understand what was happening yet but knew something terrible had happened. I stood in the middle of the room, still in my silver ceremonial robes, my body frozen in shock, my mind refusing to process the empty cribs right in front of me. “Yvonne.” I felt my mother's warm hands closed around my shoulders, turning me to face her properly. Elara's eyes had gone glassy from tears
Chapter 5Yvonne's Pov The day of the rejection ceremony arrived. I had to dress carefully, so I picked out a fitted, silver-embroidered gown that bore the royal mark of the Silvercrest Pack across the lapel. I did not dress for Ronan, nor did I dress to prove anything to Celeste. I dressed for myself because I wanted the woman who entered that Council chamber to bear no resemblance to the frightened, desperate Omega who had once begged her mate for a crumb of affection. My family accompanied me down the grand marble hallway. My father walked with the terrifying, majestic authority of the Silvercrest Alpha, while my mother held her head high at his side. My three brothers surrounded me like an immovable wall of dark steel. For the first time in my entire life, I walked into a room knowing that no one could threaten me without answering to an entire dynasty.Ronan arrived a few moments later, trailing his councilors and carrying himself with his usual rigid composure. Celeste st
Chapter 4 Yvonne’s Pov My arrival at the Silvercrest territory felt like entering an entirely different world. The estate was enormous, sprawling across thousands of acres of pristine mountain forest.Elite warriors lined the perimeter, and the security grid was unlike anything I had ever seen in the Darkmoon Pack.I was immediately brought into a lavish, private wing prepared specifically for me and my babies.Yet, despite the sudden wealth surrounding me, I could not stop feeling like an intruder. I had spent my entire life believing I belonged nowhere, that I was just an unloved Omega meant to take up as little space as possible. Now, I was suddenly being told that I was an heiress, a princess and the missing daughter of a legendary Alpha dynasty. The change was almost too overwhelming to process. My mother, Luna Elara, refused to leave my side for even a second. As I rested on the plush bed, she gently held my hands, her tear-filled eyes studying every mark on my body. She tr
Chapter 3Yvonne’s Pov I woke to an entirely different atmosphere in the recovery ward. The silence that had wrapped around me during the long hours of the night was shattered. The hospital had suddenly become tense, charged with an uncomfortable, vibrating energy. Heavy-booted footsteps echoed outside my door, and through the glass panel, I saw Darkmoon Pack guards pacing the corridors with nervous expressions. The Healer hurried past my room, looking pale and thoroughly frightened.Nobody explained anything to me.At first, I assumed the worst. My throat tightened as I clutched the thin hospital blanket to my chest, convinced that Ronan had finally sent his warriors to intimidate me into signing the rejection papers and relinquishing my precious children. He was an Alpha accustomed to getting his way, and I was just the Omega who had dared to say no.Then, I heard the vehicles arriving outside. It was not a single car. The low, thunderous growl of several heavy engines shook the
Chapter 2Yvonne/Doctor’s PovI woke several hours later in a quiet hospital bed. Everything hurt. My body felt hollow, my arms trembled with utter weakness, and every ragged breath reminded me that I had nearly died bringing my babies into the world. The moment I opened my eyes, the Healer walked into the room."Where are my children?" I asked, my voice cracking. "Are they alright?""Both are alive, Yvonne," he assured me, adjusting my IV line. "They remain in incubators because they are too small and fragile to survive without medical assistance, but they are fighters."Relief washed over me. "I need to see them. Please, help me get up."Before I could swing my legs off the bed, the door swung open and Ronan's assistant, Thomas, stepped inside carrying a thick leather folder. For one foolish second, I believed Ronan had finally changed his mind. Then Thomas opened the folder and held out a set of legal papers."Sign these," Thomas said without a trace of sympathy. "Alpha Ronan orde
