Chapter 18THE CHALLENGE FABIANS' VIEWI could see Selena's wolf wanted to come out, and I knew my wolf wanted to come out too, but I was doing my best to keep both Selena and my wolf in. Even though Mark, Lupe, and the baby were also being protected, along with the future of the pack and the fact that they would even risk their lives for him, I didn't want to start anything because I knew the entire pack had our backs. Selena didn't view me as a threat to him because of what I did to her before I had my memories back, and I wouldn't trust myself either, so I would have to ask her when we were alone and I would have the courage to ask. I wanted to know what his name was.As Selena grew closer to my parents, so did the individuals who reared her and provided for her in no way. Esteban then proceeded to move in the opposite direction of Selena as I started to follow her. I reached out and grabbed Selena's hand as she was smiling broadly and I was certain she was up to something, but I w
Chapter 19SELENAS' POV: FAMILY TIMEWhen it was just the two of us, I could tell that Fabian was having similar difficulties using words and acting in social situations as I was. Although I was unsure of whether it was appropriate, I wanted to ask him what he was thinking. I couldn't help but stare at Jr. since he had entranced me, even though I was always on high alert for any threat. When I finally snapped, I looked up to see Jr. staring at Fabian next to me on the bed as he stood by the door. We established eye contact when he eventually turned away from Jr to look at us, and I could tell he was eager to get near to us and start a conversation.I asked if you intended to see your son there or stay put.Even though I did feel threatened by him, I knew he was headed for the bed because of my wolf. Junior was holding my finger in his small hand as I glanced down at him. When Fabian was lying next to the bed, he carefully shifted to the other side of the bed to help my wolf become acc
Chapter 20FIGHT FABIANS' PERSPECTIVEI was so happy to be able to hold my child in my arms that I couldn't help but smile. I was initially concerned that I might damage him while holding him, but after a while, even though it had only been for a short while, I felt as if I thought I have been doing that for a while now. I felt so connected to him while doing all of this that it felt good to be able to, and the burping part was weird but great at the same time. I once again felt afraid when Selena approached us carrying his bottle, but it was really simple to do. We put him in the crib while Selena went to sleep on the bed since I could sense she was tired and needed to unwind before the battle. She closed her eyes and I went to the bed and sat behind her, sliding my hand slowly around her waist so she wouldn't get mad at me. Exactly where I had indicated, I put my chin on her neck, and when she groaned a little, I couldn't prevent the smile that spread across my face. She moved furt
Chapter 21THE ACCEPTANCE SELENAS POINT OF VIEWYes, I had accepted the challenge to the death, but I never wanted my pack to see me as a killer since I wanted them to see me more as the one who will give those in our pack a second chance depending on what they have done. When the pack told us to kill Susy, I just looked at everyone and shook my head. As soon as I exited the ring, I ran right into Fabian's arms and pressed our lips together to declare to the pack that he was mine and that I had gained the right to represent Luna in this pack's future. The only people left to accept me were Fabian's parents, but as we drove away, I could hear the pack roaring and screaming at the top of their voices, which made me feel at home and accepted by them.As soon as we both heard someone clear their throat, we both turned to look at his parents and Esteban's family who were standing next to us. They said nothing, which left me feeling unconfident, but I didn't show it because I didn't want th
CHAPTER 22: INTERROGATION FABIANS' POINT OF VIEWMy father had to stop in front of one of the cells for me to realize that we were in front of the one housing the six men dispatched to retrieve Selena and Jr. The closer we got, the tighter I would hold Selena's waist, dragging Jr. behind me, but never to the point where I hurt her. We all entered after one of the guards unlocked the door. The six guys turned to face Jr. and Selena as I yelled, and they saw that I had her close to me and had my arm around her waist. How come you are here? I added, "We are here for her and the baby," and one of the men responded. What goals do you have for them? I told him we were ordered here to get her and the infant, and he said, "Why do you have to take them to your pack?" My father said, "We need her help," and when the other asked, "Why do you need her help?"He replied by asking why she was necessary. "Who is your Luna," he questioned, and I responded. enquired, "Who is your Luna," I responded, "
Chapter 23SELENAS VIEW OF PLANNINGI had to coerce Beatris into telling me exactly what was going on since I could tell she wasn't acting like herself. When she finally did start to explain what was happening and that her partner was in the pack hospital, I knew I had to go and aid her. She supported me when I needed it, she was there for me when I learned I was pregnant, she was there when I learned I was carrying a son, and she was there when I gave birth to him, so I was going to be there and assist her now that she needed it the most.I asked Gaby to watch over Jr. while I went to the pack doctor to find out how the six men were doing and to find out if they would be able to travel to their pack and, if not, how soon they would be able to be ready to travel. When I arrived at the doctor's office, all six men were present and immediately bowed their heads in respect upon seeing me."Well, the one you threw out the window is doing better and should be okay to travel whenever you li
Chapter 24THE TRIP SELENAS POVI already emailed Beatris to let her know that we were on our route and how many people we were also bringing in case rouges struck again. We should get a Beatris pack in a few hours. Three of the men from Beatrice's group, Fabian, Gaby, Esteban, George, and Manuel, were in the front SUV. The others were in the SUV behind us with some of the combatants, and the rest were in the other SUVs. Beatris was quite relieved to learn that we were headed to her pack, and I don't know how many times she thanked me while we were on the phone. In total, eight SUVs would be arriving at the pack, which I also informed Beatris about. She frequently texted me to check on our whereabouts and inquire how far we had traveled, whether we were getting closer, and whether we would be arriving today or tomorrow.Everyone had been a great help up until this point, so we stopped to buy gas for all the SUVs so I could change and feed Jr. Since we were unable to install Jr's car
Chapter 25THE ArrivalWhen I emailed Beatris to let her know we were on our way, she promptly answered and stated she would be waiting for us at the pack house. As we drew nearer to Beatris' pack grounds, she confirmed that she would be there. Less than ten minutes later Beatris, as she had promised, was waiting for us in the pack house's driveway. When I stepped out of the SUV, she rushed into my arms, her eyes filling with tears. She let her tears soak my shirt as I just held her in my arms, and I could see how grateful she was that we were there to aid her, especially me.We'll get through this together, I assured them, adding, "Calm down. Everything will be well.We can proceed to the office if Markus would kindly show everyone to their accommodations. I said. "Yes Luna," she answered. I agree, it's great to finally have you guys here. In an effort to persuade them to follow us, Markus claims that I glanced at Fabian and Esteban before turning to gaze at Markus. Gaby poked both o
