Cassandra

I stared at him, knowing what he wanted. My whole body trembled at what he said.

As I looked at Miles beside me, it frightened me. I wanted him to leave; I wanted Miles to not be involved at all.

“Sandra, I’ve realized my mistake. I was really stupid back then…”

My ears heard all the nonsense he had just said. Right now I didn’t feel any different, he was still acting selfishly.

Our relationship had been destroyed, and it wouldn’t change ever.

“I don’t want to lose you again. I won’t let that happen. I’ll do whatever it takes... including making you see that that man will be put in prison.”

My anger surged. He made me look at him; those sharp eyes looked so cruel in that moment.

Before I said anything, he handed me a document that was already open. There was fairly complete data about what had happened a few years ago. It made me freeze.

“I think you understand now.” He turned his attention to Miles. “He’s coming too.”

“No. No! You can’t bring him because he—”

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 80

CassandraWell, I should’ve realized earlier why Alden was here. My feelings were so uneasy, and everything became clear when Sebastian asked me to come to his study while saying he didn’t want Miles to know.He hugged me once I was inside his study. I could allow it if it was just him being overwhelmed with emotions. Anyone else would surely notice it too.I almost let him do that. I pulled away from his embrace, and he looked at me.“So, that child really is mine?” his voice trembled.“No. The child from you was miscarried when I overdosed on medicine.”I spoke quickly. As I recalled it, at that time I was in critical condition. I had been bleeding, and when I opened my eyes, I thought I had lost the baby. The fetus inside my womb turned out to be very strong; he managed to survive and kept growing well. That’s Miles, he’s an extraordinary child, and Sebastian doesn’t need to know that.“This is my child with Dylan. We had a child right away because I was devastated by the loss.”Yo

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 79

CassandraWithout my phone, I couldn’t contact anyone. That man had cruelly confiscated it as if I were a child.I had no intention of staying here long, even though I was actually very familiar with this place. But this room had become the place where I secluded myself in loneliness, ignored by my husband and his family. The dining room wasn’t pleasant either. Even the sofa where I used to wait for him, every time I looked at it, my chest tightened.I could never forget that it was also in that place where he stripped me naked to sleep with me.The damn man didn’t understand the trauma crawling all over my body and still kept saying how much he wanted to be with me, to love me.Bullshit.I didn’t want to listen to his words anymore. I wanted this to end as soon as possible. This whole situation clearly affected me; I couldn’t calm down and kept pressing my hands together over and over. Earlier, being with him made my heart pound. I was truly angry, and then, unexpectedly, I saw him c

SebastianI looked at her. She should have known how impatient I was for this morning to come. The dress I gave her suited her perfectly, and her loose hair made her look so beautiful. I should have realized long ago just how beautiful she really is.Looking back, I truly had been deceiving myself. While she was busy paying attention to Miles, I kept smiling as I watched her. Having experienced loss, I wanted to treat her with care, but that also made me paranoid. If what happened in the past were to happen again, I wouldn’t be able to endure it.And then, my feelings toward Miles—how close I felt to him, were strange enough. I hoped Alden would bring me good news.“Eat this.”I placed a piece of meat onto Miles’s plate, cutting it into portions small enough for his tiny mouth. I smiled at him, but he looked at me with a skeptical expression. Then, he sat there staring at me intently.“Uncle, how long will we stay here? Are you a bad person?”He was still just a child, and I knew he m

SebastianIn my room, the things I’d just thrown around made it look messy.I was actually happy because finally I could bring you, Cassandra, back to this house. I thought we would have a very pleasant life, happy and full of laughter.Hoping it would be wonderful. She had lied to me; I didn’t accept that at all. And I had wronged her too. My desire for her to stay with me was enormous. We were husband and wife, we were family, and we were meant to be together.Because of the exploding joy inside me, I couldn’t be calm and was always curious about what she was doing. Just looking at her would make me smile. But when I stood outside her room, I heard her on the phone with someone, none other than Dylah. She was the one standing between us. For years she’d hidden Cassandra’s whereabouts and kept herself always close to Cassandra. I knew he wanted Cassandra, and I didn’t like that.“I’ll be back soon.”Hearing Cassandra say that made me lose control. I went in and immediately grabbed he

CassandraThis wasn’t an easy question. My mouth opened, but it felt unbearably heavy to move.“Your mother and I knew each other, and that photo was because we were testing out wedding clothes.”I was stunned by Sebastian’s answer. I looked at him, then at Miles, who was staring at him with sparkling eyes. Then he spoke. “So… you two used to be wedding outfit models?”I knew Miles—he loved satisfying his curiosity. Ignoring the wedding photo, I quickly took Miles from Sebastian’s arms to put an end to this conversation.“That’s right. Doesn’t your mom look so beautiful in a wedding dress?”This man just couldn’t stop talking. He really was trying to push me to the edge of my patience with him. That’s exactly why he had so many enemies. I turned to glare at him, but it was clear he had no intention of stopping.“Mom is so beautiful.” Miles responded, holding my hand.Slowly, I tried to calm myself down again. It seemed this man’s lie had actually convinced Miles. It was honestly surpr
