Prologue

In a tiny run-down shack, in the middle of the forest, screams were heard as a woman lay on a bed, giving birth. When the baby made her entrance into the world, the mother looked at her with disdain, and picked her up. As she walked out the door, she chuckled as she pinched the nose of the severed head which belonged to the inhabitant of this shack, "You would still be alive if you had just stayed gone." She walked out the door, with the baby, and turned around and pointed at the house to set the house on fire. Then she looked at the baby with a sneer, "Now to get rid of you.”

As she walked through the forest, she dropped her into a pile of leaves at the base of a tree as she walked past it. She walked away, mumbling, “I’m not going to kill you yet. I may need you in the future.”

The baby girl lays quietly as her mother walks away. Her tiny, naked body has no time to grow cold before Winnie, Queen of the White Witch Coven, feels the magic rolling off of her in waves and follows the waves to the source. When she finds the baby, she gasps, “Look at you, little one! So much magic in such a tiny body! We must protect you with our lives. We must train you to use your powers for good purposes. I can feel who your mother is. We can’t let her have you back.”

She picks up the child, wraps her in her cloak and teleports to her castle. She tells Ariel, her second in command, to call a meeting of the coven. As soon as everyone is present, she walks to the front of the room, holding the baby. As she is walking, the witches get quiet as she passes them.

When she gets to the front of the room, she speaks, “I found this baby in the forest less than one hour ago. She was just born less than two hours ago, because her umbilical cord was still attached and warm. I can tell you, that she is going to be one of these most powerful witches in history. I can also tell you that her biological mother is Dahlia.” There was an audible gasp and murmuring until Queen Winnie held up her hand for silence, then continued, “She can not be returned to Dahlia, no matter the consequences. She will be raised as my child, and as a white witch. Under no circumstances is this information to leave our coven. Do you all agree to protect this little one for the rest of her life?” There was a resounding, “We will.”
