Kade’s POV-

When I was up to start our second game I smelled the most delicious scent in the air, which was weird in this place. Usually it just smells like alcohol, grease, and cheap cologne. This smell though, so fresh and alluring, like strawberries and vanilla. I thought I smelled it for a moment during our first game, but it disappeared right away when the door opened a gust of wind came through the place. It was the same smell I first got a taste of this morning, my mate. I knew it. I stood up after shanking my shot and started looking around. Alec looked at me like I was crazy so I had to let him know.

“She’s here.”

“She? You mean Cataleya?”

“Yeah. I can smell her,” I tell him, trying to follow her scent without looking suspicious. I don’t know how I could have missed her coming in. I blame it on having too many scents all around but I don’t know. Maybe because she’s human. It’s still crazy to me that my mate would be a human, but I don’t care. I will still love her just the s
