Hunter’s pov
“Brief me about the fight that happened yesterday, I need to know those boys that destroyed my game store, '' Xavier demanded as I walked into his apartment. I hesitated for a while since I knew the consequences of actually telling him the truth.
Our gang had started the fight with the other gang and one thing led to the other, the boys decided to come back with a tractor rather than a gun or their fist.
“I was not actually there when the fight started but I'll get enough information from Stanley and get back to you boss”
Xavier smirked at me and nodded. He picked up a glass of water and turned to face me.
“Don't you dare move from that spot,” Before I could nod, he launched the glass at my face. My head felt light from the impact and the dizziness overshadowed me. Still, I struggled to stay awake and alert.
“Why are you so useless, Hunter? You didn’t get me my stuff and still, I had to make up for the losses that you and your stupid boys caused”
He yelled at me and followed it with curses.
I could feel blood trickling down my face but I dare not touch it.
“I'm sorry boss, it wouldn't happen again,”
“It wouldn't! Because if it does, I'll make sure you never see the light of the day anymore. Do you understand me?” He growled.
I quickly went on my knees and pleaded. Not for my life but for Zion’s life.
“Also, make sure you get my stuff before tomorrow night. You know the consequences of not doing that, right?” I nodded
“Good, get out of my sight”
I stood up immediately and went out of his apartment. The first thing I did after was to get a fresh cloth to clean the blood. It’ll heal within minutes, that I'm so sure of.
I‘ve been working for Xavier since I was twelve. Too young to get involved in such businesses and yet, too young to be noticed or suspected. It wasn't a difficult thing to do since everyone saw me as a boy that was grieving. They thought that moment would pass but what they’re not aware of is that it never does.
The next thing I did was get Stanley to line up the two boys that started the fight at the gang’s hideout. I mounted my bike and took off. The hideout is at the outskirts of our town, a place no one has ever noticed. It has an abandoned building that was large enough to hide us and our atrocities.
As I entered, I noticed everyone was around and the two boys were tied up.
“Did you guys know what you cost me today?” I asked, bending down to their level.
“We’re sorry. We didn't mean to start the fight”
“Do I look like I give a shit about an apology?” I replied. I stood up from the floor and picked up the first stick I saw lying on the table.“You guys can start,” I instructed the rest of the gang.
What followed was screams of pain and agony as the other gang members began beating up the tied-up members. I turned sharply when the noises reduced.
“Why did you stop? I still can't see any blood. You know that's my favorite punishment part” I yelled.
The beating continued until I could see both boys bleeding from practically every part of their bodies. I instructed others to stop and try to get them home as soon as possible to their parents. I don't tolerate bullshit and I never will.
“What happened with Xavier?” Stanley asked as the rest of the boys left the room.
“This happened,” I said, referring to my head even though I knew it was perfectly healed already.
“Damn! He was pretty mad at us”
“Don't even bother including yourself in the equation. I get to be the one to be at the receiving end of his anger every time” I added.
Stanly brought out a box of cigars, removed one, lit it, and gave it to me. I took a drag before passing it to him.
“That's because you’re his favorite man, Hunt,” He complimented and I laughed sadly.
“Let's say I'm his best dealer. When you deal with the devil, you will understand that it has a lot of consequences”
“What do you mean?”
“Nothing serious, old Stanley” he laughed at his nickname and we continued smoking in silence.
I might be one of the youngest gang members but Xavier had made me their leader because I knew his top secret and he was also a custodian of mine.
“Did you know that Maj sent a boy to frighten that new school girl?” Stanley asked.
“What new school girl?”
“Babe or whatever her name is” He replied.
My eyes went wide in confusion.
“What did you say she did again?” I asked, processing his words properly.
“I don't know what happened between her and the girl but I feel Maj hates her gut. She has not killed her yet because of the rules. She sent one of the boys to trail her and frighten her till she loses her mind. She just wants to run the poor girl crazy. You know shit…..”
I didn't wait for him to finish his words before I ran out of the hideout. I could hear him calling my name but I didn't stop. I took my bike and rode off to Babe’s house.
A different part of me wanted me to go back and let Maj do what she wanted but another part knew it wasn't right. Babe doesn't deserve any of that.
“STOP! STOP PLEASE” I stopped my bike behind a building as soon as I heard her pleas. The wolf was already dragging her. I stayed behind at the edge of the building and waited for the wolf to recognize my dominant aura. It didn't take long before it did. It stopped and bowed.
I might not be the Alpha yet but I was the Alpha’s son. My command is power. I growled at the wolf and as Babe took off, the wolf also did. I didn't need to follow it, it will make its way back to me.
Grabbing my bike angrily, I made my way to Babe’s house without thinking twice.
Babe’s POV My heartbeat was accelerated and I could feel my head pounding. It was as if a knife was on my gut that was being slowly twisted. Immediately I got back to the house, I didn't talk to anyone. I walked up to my room, locked my door, and still went on to lock myself in the bathroom. My mind was messed up. I wanted to cry but that will be a big sign of weakness that I'm not supposed to show. I swallowed hard as fear gripped me once I remembered what had happened. I don't know if I should tell anyone about what I saw not. People would think I'm crazy. To even think right now, is a challenge for me. My heart was pounding in my ear and I had to stop myself from screaming out my tears.
Babe's POVThe weekend was finally over and it was time for a brand new week. Throughout the remaining days of the previous week, I feigned sickness and told my aunt I won't be attending classes. Luckily enough for me, she had business trips she needed to make and that made her fall for my lie.Even though Pinky knew something was up, she decided to ignore it and still went on to get my assignments for me and even submitted them.I stood in front of McVegas' high School gates, dreading going inside the school. I don't want to meet up with anyone crazy today, God. Please, clear my ….."What are you doing? Why are you out there alone?" Someone asked while resting a hand on my shoulder. I turne
The cafeteria was eerily silent. No one was saying anything to anyone but all eyes were on my table. I looked up to see Ivy and Tommy looking uncomfortable and I could see the fear on Ivy's face."So, why did you skip school last week?" Hunter asked as he turned to face me. A leg was placed on the bench he was sitting on."It's none of your business," I replied angrily."It is my business as long as it is your business. We had that agreement the day I helped you out, remember?" He touched my chin with his finger and I quickly pushed his hand away."We never had such an agreement," I denied."Should I give you a little reminder of how it happened?" "Why are you doing this? Why are you here?""Isn't it obvious? I'm here to get paid back for helping you. See, I'm like the mythical nine-tailed fox, if I owe you something, I'll make sure I pay back and if you owe me something, I'll still make sure you pay back," I hissed at his stupid exp
"Forget I said that"Hunter requested and I slightly nodded. I could feel my face burning hot from his words as I tried as much as possible to shove the words at the back of my mind and not think about it.His eyes were settled on his bike as I stood fixated at a spot. Hunter suddenly pulled at my hand and when his hand touched mine, the feeling was surreal and unexplainable."Get on the bike. Let me take you home," he commanded. The command in his voice almost made me change my mind. But still, I stood at a spot."Don't make me repeat myself," he growled loudly.I did as he had said and climbed on the backseat, sitting a
Babe's POV The gate leading to the Webster's home was opened wide for me and as I walked in, I was in awe of how beautiful the home was. It was nothing as extravagant as my aunt's home but still, it was beautiful. I walked up to the front door and pressed the ring again. I tapped my hand against my thigh as I waited for the door to be opened by the voice that answered as soon as I pressed the bell. "Hi, who are you?" A beautiful woman opened the door, beaming at me. "Hello, I'm Barbara and I'm here to see Hunter. I don't know if I'm in the right place." I replied, introducing myself. The lady's jaw dropped open and she kept on sta
Hunter's POV"You're dating Maj, really Hunter?" My mother yelled as soon as I walked back into the house. It was as if she was waiting for me to come back so she could bring down the roof."Who told you that bullshit?" I asked angrily"Bullshit or not. Tell me if that is true" she asked again."Who told you?"I'm going to kill whoever told my mother about my relationship with Maj. I've tried covering it up since it wasn't something that needed to be announced but with the way Maj was always over me in school, people began to misunderstand me and I don't care about explaining myself."Does
Babe's POV"Hunter," I called out as soon as I saw him walking out of the school door during school hours. An hour ago, he had barged into my class, spewing curses just because he failed the assignment. I had actually thought he would go through the assignment, remove some irrelevant things, compile the ones that suit his intelligence quotient before submitting it.I didn't realize he was that dumb.Or maybe he trusted you that muchmy subconscious said."Do you have anything to say or you'll keep staring at me?" He growled and I shifted back a little bit from him.
Babe's POVHera insisted on stopping at a restaurant before we got to the pizza place. She complained about being famished and needed to refill before leaving.I didn't have much of a choice other than to go with her. We got to the restaurant and she told me to take a seat while she ordered her meal at the counters."Sorry I dragged you into this, Babe," she apologized when she got back to the table."Don't worry about it," I dismissed her apology."It's just necessary to come here, eat and let you ease your nervousness" she winked at me."I wasn't nervous, Hera. I'm totally good" I smiled,
