Luther We are sitting around the conference table. It is just a large table that could fit twenty. With the six Elders, Patsy, Jackson, Melissa, Jesse, Aiden, the Alpha, Luna, myself and Lexi we almost had it filled. Lexi and I didn’t say anything. I was going to let them do the talking. They said they had information we needed to know and I wanted it. I can help Lexi through her first shift but the glowing and anything else she might need I can’t. And if I can bring this information back to my Elders so they can help protect Lexi, my Luna. Even better. Elder Standish stood and said, “ Lexi, since you have known me longer we thought you might be more comfortable with me.” Lexi just nods. She has my hand in a death grip like she is preparing for the worst. “ Lexi, I have to ask one question before we get started. Do you have a birthmark?” What an odd question. And why is it important? Lexi just nods, stands and turns around. I watch her pull her shirt to the side revealing a perfect
AidenI watched Lexi pace back and forth asking questions. Her glow would fade and get brighter. The color would change shades going darker then lighter. I could feel her emotions all over the place. And so could Razor. I could feel him trying to press forward. He wanted to comfort Lexi. It was nice to hear his voice again. I had to tell him now was not the right time. Lexi is overloaded right now and I don’t think touching her is a good idea. Hell, I’m overloaded and this isn’t about me. Well, not all of it. “ So you are saying that my birth caused a pack to be destroyed. So I’m responsible for lives lost. Including my parents.” Lexi said. Whoa, what? That is what Lexi got from that. “ No, Lexi. You are not responsible for what happened. Your birth was a happy occasion. And your parents died doing what good parents do. They died protecting what they loved the most. You. They knew you were destined for great things. And I know they would be so proud of you. What happened to the pack
Lexi I was overloaded. I thought my brain was going to melt and start coming out of my ears. I couldn’t take anymore. I didn’t know what to make of what the Elders said. I didn’t know all of them but I knew Standish and I trusted him. And none of them looking like this was some big joke. Everyone of them looked serious. Like life or death serious. But it was becoming too much. I had to get out of there. I had to get back home. To something familiar. I needed to shut my brain off. Then there was the run in with Razor. He was so sweet. And adorable. I just wanted to hold him after he told me he didn’t want to reject me and all the things he was going through to try and change Aiden’s mind. He may have thought he was hurting Aiden but he was also hurting himself. I couldn’t let Razor continue to do that. So I talked to him and told him to try to get along with Aiden. Not just for himself but for Aiden as well. I may not like Aiden right now but I feel like they need each other. I’m
Luther While Lexi was in the shower I made a long over due to my family. When they pick up I say “ Hey dad,” I said. “ Luther, where have you been? You have had us worried. We even tried linking you but all you said was you were doing something and would get back to us. That was hours ago.” dad said. “ I know dad. I’m sorry. It took longer than I thought. And it is too much to explain over link. Is mom around? I want to tell you at the same time.” I explained. He asked me to hold on while he got her.“ Sweetheart, are you alright?” mom asked. “ I’m fine, mom. Better than fine.” I said. I told them everything. From finding my glowing mate. To the wolves jumping us and everything the Elders said. “ I won’t say I’m not worried about you being attacked but I’m happy you are ok.” mom said. I explained it wasn’t me the wolves were after but Lexi. I told them about the prophecy and how the Elders think Lexi is that girl. “ Wait back up. Are you telling me your mate is the Goddess Prophecy
Aiden I felt Lexi last night. I don’t think she did it on purpose. I know she didn’t. I spoke to the Elders after Lexi left. They said that Lexi would have no control over her glowing and projecting as she got closer to her birthday. That is unless she is trained. I talked to Patsy and she told me that Lexi will be twenty in three weeks. So Lexi is losing what little control she had as she gets her news gifts. I walked around the back to see if she was affecting anyone else. I didn’t want my pack getting hurt or passing out again. I saw that a few were affected but it seemed to be only mated couples. What is Lexi projecting, you ask? She is turned on. We can feel her pleasure, her excitement and if I’m not wrong nervousness. I can feel it more than the others. Razor said it is because of the mate bond. I can feel everything on a deeper level. I thought Razor would be going nuts or at least pissed that someone was touching Lexi that wasn’t us. “ I am upset it isn’t us but I’m not go
Lexi I had a great lunch with Aiden the other day. He isn’t so bad when he isn’t being an ass. And the book was the sweetest thing. I have been reading it everyday trying to get a grasp on my new world. I think Aiden wrote it himself and that makes it even sweeter. And the way he broke everything down makes learning all this so much easier. Which is great since I am meeting Luther’s pack today. I’m nervous as hell. Thankfully Luther is driving me there. I doubt I would find the place on my own. It is hidden deep in the woods. Closer to Iron Mountain than Gwinn. It also gives me some time to study more. Yes, I brought the book with me. There are even empty pages in the back for me to take more notes if I need. I will probably just remember everyone’s names. Luther said it was just a small get together so hopefully there won’t be too many people here. And there is what if they don’t like me. Or think I’m weird. Or don’t think I’m good enough for Luther even though we are paired by the
Luther When I saw all the Elders and my parents bowing to Lexi I was just as confused as she was. My parents don’t bow to anyone but the Elders and the Elders never bow to anyone. I keep Lexi close to my chest and ask “ Mom, dad? What are you doing? What is going on?” My dad stands and comes over to us. Well to Lexi. He gently places his hands on Lexi’s shoulders causing her to look up at him. Dad keeps his eyes on Lexi as he answers. “ We are paying our respects to my future daughter,” he said. “ Alpha. I don’t understand. From what I learned I should bow to you.” Lexi said. She is right. There is no reason for my dad and them to be bowing to Lexi. My mom gets up next. “ Son not only were you blessed with a beautiful and sweet mate. We are blessed with the Prophecy child. The child of the Goddess herself. We bow to her because we should.” mom said. She looks at Lexi,” Sweetheart, I know you are learning so I will put this simple. As far as rankings go, you out rank all of us. You
Aiden I was having dinner at the packhouse with Jesse, Jackson, and Melissa. Lexi had told Jesse that she was going to Luther’s today so my crew weren’t needed for guard duty. Jesse was barely speaking to me. He is still upset that I wanted to reject Lexi. The key word here is wanted. I don’t want to do it now. Lunch hadn’t given me much headway so I’m having to come up with a different plan. Razor suggested I get a little more assertive and tell Lexi that I want another chance. He said I was being too subtle. That at lunch Lexi just thought I was being friendly. I think he is right. I will have to be blunt with Lexi. I have already played too many games with her even though she didn’t know it. I just finished eating and was going to let Razor out for a run when I got a link from dad asking for me and my crew to join him in his office. I turned around from the back door and headed straight there. Jesse, Melissa, and Jackson are hot on my heels. I open the door after knocking. “ You
