“What’s your connection to Sunny?” Zayne asked.

He had no intention of beating around the bush. The moment Timoty walked into his office wearing a thick coat and a wrinkled inner shirt, Zayne could already tell the man was in a terrible state. According to his profile records, Timoty used to be a handsome man who dressed neatly, his hair always slicked back.

Unfortunately, the man standing across Zayne’s desk now looked nothing like that.

He looked more like a homeless man.

Timoty glanced aroun

“How many times did we even do it last night?” Elmy grumbled as she stretched her body. Every joint felt like it was falling apart. Sore, aching—her waist felt like it might snap. And that wasn’t even the worst part. Between her thighs throbbed painfully; she even winced just trying to pee.Damn you, Zayne.Elmy had never imagined Zayne could be that wild in bed. Still, the pain she felt now somehow matched the pleasure he had given her.Without realizing it, Elmy touched her stomach, which still felt full. Her cheeks heated up as she remembered how every time she reached her peak, Zayne never once pulled away from her. After finishing in the bathroom, she picked up the clothes scattered on the floor and carefully stepped out. In the kitchen, Zayne stood with his back facing her. He looked neat and put together—the complete opposite of her, who hadn’t even showered yet. When Elmy stepped behind him, Zayne turned. “You’re awake?”

“Do you want to take a warm shower?” she asked casually, and Zayne just responded with a small nod.“I think I really need that. My body feels like a block of ice right now,” he said with a light, innocent grin.Elmy chuckled. She got up from his lap and walked toward the bathroom, preparing hot water for him. Once she was done, she returned to him and took the small bag he had brought.“The bathroom’s in the corner, and your room is—”“Our room,” Zayne corrected as he stood up from the carpet, still holding his mug. “I want to sleep with you. You’re my wife.”Elmy’s cheeks flushed. “Our room is near the kitchen. I’ll prepare your clothes. Go shower while the water’s still warm.”“Thanks,” Zayne said. Before he could leave, Elmy grabbed his arm. “Are you hungry?”A faint, almost mischievous smile curved Zayne’s lips. He nodded. “Very.”Elmy simply nodded back and left him. In the bedroom, she prepared warm clothes for him, then headed to the kitchen. Crouching in front of the fridge,

“The court summons has already been sent to Zayne,” Mr. Joo said.Elmy, sitting in front of the fireplace, gave a weak nod.“For the mediation, I hope you can both come together. It’s an important process,” Mr. Joo added. She simply listened to him over the phone. Elmy let out a quiet sigh, staring at the flames flickering in front of her with a blank expression. “Is Zayne doing okay?” she asked suddenly. The question slipped out just like that. Even though they were talking about the divorce she was about to go through, her thoughts drifted somewhere else entirely.“A few days ago, he called me asking about your whereabouts. He seemed frustrated trying to find you,” Mr. Joo explained.Warmth spread behind Elmy’s eyelids. She couldn’t hold it back—tears slipped down her cheeks. How cruel of her, leaving Zayne when he was at his lowest. She should have been there for him, comforting him. But instead… she had left him struggling on his own.“I told your husband that you’re doing fine. B

“Are you sure you want to go there? The weather’s bad,” Gion said.A few hours ago, they had just arrived at Aspen–Pitkin County Airport. “Yeah.” “This is the only thing I could get. No one wants to fly in weather like this,” he added, while Zayne just frowned. “Don’t complain. This is the best I could do.” “Whatever. As long as it can get me to Aspen.” “Who are you going to see there?” Gion asked, holding out a cigarette to Zayne, who was carrying a small bag in his hand. Zayne took one and leaned forward to light it with the lighter Gion offered. Thin smoke curled in the falling snow. Zayne took a drag from his cigarette. “My wife’s there.” “Aspen? What is she doing there?” Gion asked, surprised. “And because of that, you’re chasing after her on a private aircraft? Damn, that’s crazy.” “She ran away from me,” Zayne replied shortly. Gion exhaled smoke into the air, then chuckled. “Your relationship is really complicated.” “Hmm,” Zayne responded nonchalantly. Up ahead, a heli

Zayne felt like his world was falling apart. Was Elmy really this cruel to him? Why would she file for divorce when she hadn’t even recovered from her grief yet? Did she think he would just give up? Did she think their separation could bring Marietta back? No.Zayne stared at the copy of the divorce petition on the table, his face flushed with anger. Without thinking, he tore it into two and threw it onto the floor. For God’s sake, he was not going to give up on finding Elmy.Even though he knew her phone was off, Zayne kept calling. Over and over again, until he grew sick of waiting for an answer that never came. His chest felt tight. And now, he didn’t even know where to start.Leaning his head back against the sofa, he covered his eyes with the back of his hand. Anderson’s words from earlier in the car flashed through his mind. What if Sunny knew where his wife was?Zayne suddenly sat up straight. “But what if it’s the other way around

“At least she left before she could embarrass this family even more because of that damn agreement!” Sam snapped, gripping the railing as Zayne shoved him.“Bastard!” Zayne cursed, pushing him harder until Sam cried out for mercy. The commotion drew the rest of the family to the balcony. Tiano rushed over, trying to calm him down.“Zayne, calm down.” Tiano patted his shoulder. “Let him go. I don’t know what’s going on between you two, but this is dangerous, Zayne,” he said, stepping in as a mediator.Zayne released Sam’s shirt, and the man immediately stumbled back from the railing, clutching his chest in relief.“You’re insane, Zayne!” Sam spat before storming off.The others followed Sam, leaving Tiano behind with Zayne, who leaned against a pillar, frustration written all over his face. “That bastard…”“What’s going on with you two? Why are you so mad at him?” Tiano asked.“Elmy left the house a few days ago. Sunny… Sam… they’re blaming her for my mother’s death,” Zayne said, his j
