"…Yes sir, the doctor is right in here," the young secretary behind the desk said, her voice slightly flustered. Her heart thudded wildly in her chest. She couldn't believe who was standing just a few feet away.

Kieran freaking Blackwood.

She screamed the words in her head, but outwardly tried to keep it cool. Tried. The blush spreading across her cheeks, though? That she couldn’t hide.

"Thank you," Kieran offered her a small, polite smile.

She just about melted into a goofy puddle right there behind the desk.

Right beside him—more like glued to his side—Genesis glanced up at her husband, then to the blushing secretary. A strange tug pulled at her chest, sharp and confusing. Without realizing it, she tightened her hold around Kieran’s arm.

Mine. Mine. Mine.

Her heart thudded to that silent chant as she narrowed her eyes at the girl behind the desk.

Nicole felt the intensity of a stare and instinctively turned her head. Her breath caught at the look Genesis was giving her—fierce, unrea

Genesis sat curled up on the oversized couch Kieran had delivered to the office just yesterday — specifically for her. Plush, ridiculously comfy, and absurdly big, it could’ve swallowed her whole if she let it. But she didn’t. She clung to the edge like it was the only thing grounding her.The moment they’d stepped into the office, Rachel had pounced on Kieran with a flood of updates and tasks waiting for his attention — he’d been away, after all. But before he could deal with any of that, he’d had to do one important thing first: get his wife to detach herself from him. That alone had taken thirty minutes. She only agreed to sit on the couch under one condition — he had to stay where she could see him. No leaving the room. So instead of attending his scheduled meeting, he brought the meeting to his office. Now, a small group of key department heads — Strategy, Operations, and Finance — filled the room, seated across from Kieran.Genesis barely noticed them. Her focus was locked on hi

“Baby, please sit down. I’m just going to be a few feet away, right there,” Kieran murmured softly, pointing toward the driver’s seat. But Genesis didn’t move. She clung tightly to his chest, refusing to let go.Kieran sighed, then gently closed the passenger door. He turned and leaned against it, his gaze shifting to the side—and that’s when he noticed a group of giggling girls nearby, phones out, snapping pictures of them.He stepped sideways, using his body to block their view of Genesis’s face. With a quiet breath, he pulled out his phone and typed out a quick message to Damon.“Leave your post and come here.”Damon, already nearby with his men a few blocks away, saw the message instantly. They hadn’t followed Kieran to the hospital—drawing attention was the last thing they wanted.Just as Kieran was about to speak again, his phone began to ring. He glanced at the caller ID.The hospital. He picked up. “Kieran Blackwood.”“Hello, Mr. Blackwood,” came Dr. Aiden’s voice, shaky and l

Kieran didn’t wait for Nicole to finish whatever she was trying to say. He rushed out of the office, nearly trampling her in his haste. He didn’t even get a chance to look around—because suddenly, a flurry of arms and legs wrapped tightly around him.It was his wife.Genesis clung to him like he was the only solid thing in a world spinning out of control, her limbs locking around him as if trying to climb him like a tree. He looked down to find tears streaking her cheeks. She was trembling violently, her skin covered in goosebumps. Her nails dug into his skin as she clutched at him, desperate. Without hesitation, he picked her up properly, letting her hook her legs more securely around his waist. She buried her face into the crook of his neck.Kieran closed his eyes, trying to steady his own heart. This scared him—badly. He glanced at his watch.Only five minutes had passed. Just five.He turned back toward the office—and saw Dr. Philip already standing at the door, a thoughtful look

  • The Womanizer's Mute Wife    A Knife in the Dark

Kieran was worried. He looked at his wife as she sat beside Daisy, who was busy talking her ear off. Genesis was smiling—she looked happy, even free—but Kieran knew better. It wasn’t real.He glanced down at her plate. She’d barely touched her food—just two slices of toast and a cup of juice. One crust was nibbled off, and the juice had only been sipped. His stomach twisted. He wasn’t usually around for breakfast, and seeing this up close made something in him ache.“Genesis,” he said gently. She turned to him right away. That quick response should’ve meant something good—but it didn’t feel like it.“Eat more,” he said softly, nodding toward her plate. The moment the words left his mouth, her smile vanished. She looked down at her food and shook her head.Oddly enough, he took that as a sign of progress. She was saying no. That was more than she used to do.He remembered the charity event a few weeks ago—he’d told her to eat, and she had. A steak. Even though she was vegetarian. She h

  • The Womanizer's Mute Wife    If I Wasn’t Yours

Kieran stood from the bed and grabbed her hand, spinning her around to face him.“Where is your collar?”She didn’t react. But he saw it—tears shimmering in her eyes. And just like that, confusion washed over him.He knew she’d be upset. He hadn’t come home in over a day. He expected anger. Silence. Maybe even tears. But not… this. Not the emptiness in her eyes. Not the way her body felt cold even in his hands.Something was wrong. Deeply wrong. He let go of her hand and turned toward the bedside drawer. Pulling it open, he fumbled past notepads and sticky notes—the ones he had bought just for her. He grabbed the latest one she’d been using, along with her pencil.Hurrying back to her, he pressed them gently into her hands.“Talk to me, baby,” he pleaded. “What did I do? Why are you crying?”She didn’t move. Didn’t reach for the book. And in that moment, he couldn’t care less about the missing collar—even if it was worth millions. It was just a thing. She was priceless. He took her ha
