Already Impressed

(Stella's POV)

“No. No means no.” I shouted looking at my mother, crossing my arms.

My mom didn’t even care my shouts. She kept cleaning utensils while saying “At 8 PM.”

“Mom! If you wish, you can go. I’m not stopping you. I don’t want to come.”

She stopped doing her work and gave me an angry look. She then shouted “Stella! They invited everyone. Zach and Charlotte are leaving the town tomorrow. Why are you so stubborn?”

“I have my college works, mom.” I said that but the actual reason was I didn’t want to go to the place where that arrogant Harry stays.

“Stella! I’m tired of forcing you. Your wish. Charlotte will definitely become sad if you won’t come there along with us. She told she wanted to see you.”

I bent my head down listening to her. I didn’t want to make aunt Charlotte disappointed.

“Mom! Tell her I fell sick.” I told my mom looking into her eyes.

“Then they all will come here to see you.” My mom said giving me a sarcastic smile.

“Then another lie.”

“I won’t lie to my friend.”

I let out a sigh and sat on the chair. I took an apple from the basket but before I ate it, Harry’s words flashed in my head.

“I love apples.”

I immediately put it back in the basket. I looked at my mom and asked “How much time we'll spend there?”

My mom grinned listening to me and asked “So you are coming with us?”

“Do I have another option?” I asked irritated.

My mom let out a little laugh and said “Not more than an hour.”

“Are you sure?” I asked raising my eyebrow.

“Yes. Believe me.”

I stood from the chair and shouted “Fine. Just one hour.”

My mom nodded as approval and continued doing her works. I strolled to my bedroom but my walk was interrupted when someone rang the doorbell. I walked to the door and opened it. I saw Anna stood in front of me.

“Anna?”

She entered in saying “Mom went out. I feel bored.” She turned on the TV and fell on the couch.

I sat beside her saying “I’m bored too.”

My mom came out shouting “Who is it?”

Stella looked at my mom and greeted “Hey aunt!”

My mom said “Hey Ann! Sit tight. I’ll make pancakes for you. Weekend special.” Mom winked at her.

“No aunt. I already had. No place to fill my little stomach more.” She said patting her belly.

My mom laughed listening to her and then strolled to kitchen again. Anna and I kept talking various things. Then we decided to roam the town. We both strolled to the cafe where we usually go. We began drinking cappuccino while gossiping about things. Our conversation was interrupted when Anna saw Roman through the glass window. He leaned to his car and was talking to Harry.

“Roman!” Anna shouted.

“What? Where?” I asked looking at her.

Anna pointed her finger and I saw them. As soon as I saw Harry, I rolled my eyes.

“Anna! Still how many days? When will you confess your love to him?”

“I can’t even dare to talk to him.”

I let out a sigh hearing her and continued drinking my coffee while Anna kept looking at Roman without even blinking.

“Anna! I’m going to Harry’s house today. They invited us for dinner.”

“Will Roman come too? If yes then please take me with you.”

Listening to Anna, my mouth dropped opened. I scoffed and said “I’m finding for excuses to not go there and here you are asking me to take you with me.”

Anna made her puppy face and I started laughing looking at her.

“Okay. I’ll let you know. If Roman is coming then I’ll take you there.”

Anna’s face lit up when she heard me. After few minutes of roaming the town, we both reached our houses.

I asked my mom whether someone else will be going there. She replied no and I informed it to Anna.

I spent the day watching Netflix, dancing and sleeping. It’s evening, I woke up hearing the knock on my bedroom door. Lazily I strolled to it and opened to see my mom’s angry face.

“Mom?” I said looking at her with my sleepy eyes.

“You are still sleeping. Did you forget that we are going somewhere?” She asked with her raised eyebrow.

“I remember mom.” I looked at the wall clock and noticed the time as 6. Then I spoke to my mom “It’s just 6.”

“It’s already 6. Go and get ready.” She literally shouted at my face.

I strolled to my bathroom and took the shower. I came out wrapping a fluffy towel around my body. I took out a white full length maxi and wore it. By the time I reached the living room, my parents were already waiting for me.

“Let’s go.” I said looking at my mom and we started to Harry’s house. It’s not that much far. It’s walkable distance from my home. We reached his house and got down of the car. It’s a big building with a great entryway which looked like aisle with grass on either side of it. Everyone there was already waiting for us. I saw Harry along with them. He looked like a gentleman in his expensive suit. Granny welcomed us and we went inside.

The building looked so rich and classy. My mouth agape looking at it’s interior. We all sat on couches and I could feel Harry’s gaze on me. Ignoring him, I tuned my face to other side. My mom and dad was behaving like they were at home but I felt so nervous. I saw granny, who sat beside me, smiling at me. I gave a small smile looking at her.

“You look nervous.” Granny said looking at me.

“No. No. I just...” When I was about to lie she held my hand and said “I can understand. Feel like home.”

Her way of speaking reminded me of my grandma who died few years before.

“Thank you.” I said looking at her.

She then kept talking the things about her life in the city, her hobbies and a lot while my parents were involved in their talk with Harry’s parents. I enjoyed granny’s talk. I loved her presence. We both started laughing by cracking jokes. I held her hand saying “You are so similar to my grandma.”

“I always wanted a daughter. But I was not blessed with a daughter. I hoped for granddaughter but it didn’t happen. It would be cool right? Talking and fighting with daughter over a silly topic.” Her eyes gleamed a bit of sadness.

“Who said you don’t have granddaughter? Consider me as the one.”

She laughed happily listening to me. She then hugged me suddenly and said “My granddaughter.”

“Granny!”

We both kept talking and were interrupted by Aunt Charlotte’s voice. We all went to dining room and started eating while talking. After finishing our dinner, everyone began talking about their college days leaving Harry and I. I was looking around the house and wanted to roam the whole building. Granny noticed my wish and she offered me to show the building. She began showing me the rooms. I loved it. They look so perfect. While we were coming out from a room, Harry interrupted our way.

“Come on gramophone! You are a patient. You shouldn’t strain your body.”

“That is the reason I always shout you to study well. Walking is good for the health.” She said pinching his cheek.

“Whatever! I’ll show her the house.” He said looking at me.

I narrowed my eyebrows listening to him and crossed my arms over my chest. “No.” I shouted.

Granny looked at me with a questioning face as my expression changed from normal to weird seeing Harry.

“Stella! What’s wrong?” Granny asked.

“I... um... nothing. I mean it’s fine. He doesn’t needs to show me.”

“So you want to strain my grandma?” He asked with his raised eyebrow.

“No. I... I don’t mean that.”

“Then I’ll show you.”

“He never listens.” Granny said laughing.

“I don’t want to see anything. Granny! Let’s go to living room.” I said looking at her.

“So if it’s granny, you are okay but if it’s me, you are not okay. You are insulting me. After all, I’m not a typical bad boy.”

Haha! Nice joke. But I didn’t get laugh. You are the perfect example of the bad boy yet you are saying you are not. Thinking that, I rolled my eyes.

Harry kept blabbering “You are insulting me. You are insulting Zach and Charlotte’s son. You are insulting Abi's grandson. You...”

“Stop!” I shouted. I let out a sigh frustratingly and said

“Fine! Granny you take rest. Harry will accompany me.”

Harry smirked looking at me and started showing me the building.

“Why did you create a scene?” I asked angrily.

“Not me. You should’ve accepted in the first place.”

We climbed upstairs and stood in front of a room. He opened the door saying “It’s my bedroom.”

Without entering in, I looked at it. I saw a huge bed and his picture frame that occupied most of the wall hung behind the bed. I even glanced at a swimming pool behind a glass door. Damn! The room looked ecstatic.

“You can enter in.” He said smirking.

“Thanks. But no.” I said and strolled away.

He ran after me and caught my wrist that made me stop from walking. I turned to look at him. I kept switching my deadly glare to his face and to his hand that caught my wrist. He left my hand and said “Don’t look at me like I’ve done a very big crime. I just touched your hand.”

“Oh yeah! I hate being touched by you.” I said gritting my teeth. I didn’t mean to say that but in annoyance, it came out unexpectedly.

He furrowed his brow but his expression changed to smirk again. He stepped towards me which made me gulp in fear. He stood in front of me and leaned in without touching me. He whispered in his husky voice “I love doing the things that you hate.”

He stood straight and said “You look beautiful today.”

He started walking away but before he walked far, he turned to me and said “You don’t need to make yourself look beautiful to impress me. I’m already impressed.” Saying that, he strolled away.

“I don’t get ready to impress a douchebag.” I shouted but he didn’t listen.

I stomped my foot angrily and went to living room. I sat silently beside granny and I was so irritated. After many minutes, we left the place.
