My heart stopped when I saw the name on the screen.

Damien.

I stared at it for a second, still half-asleep, body sore in places I hadn’t felt in a long time. The room was dark so i could barely see. Adrian’s arm was still heavy across my waist. His breathing was slow and even against my back.

The phone kept buzzing.

I sat up carefully, trying not to wake him, and answered in a low voice.

“Hello?”

“Where the fuck are you?” Damien’s voice was sharp. “It’s past midnight, Sophia. You don’t just disappear after what happened.”

I swallowed. My throat felt dry.

“I needed air,” I said quietly. “I went for a walk.”

“A walk? For hours?” He gave a cold laugh. “Don’t lie to me. Where are you right now?”

I opened my mouth to answer, but a warm hand slid up my stomach.

Adrian was already awake??

I froze.

His hand moved higher and cupped my breast. His thumb brushed over my nipple, slow and deliberate. I bit my lip hard to keep any sound from escaping.

“Sophia,” Damien said, voice tighter now. “I asked you a question. Where are you?”

“I… I’m still out,” I managed to speak. “I’ll be home soon.”

Adrian shifted behind me. I felt his mouth on the back of my neck, then lower. He pulled the sheet down and closed his lips around my nipple, sucking gently at first, then harder teasingly.

A soft sound almost left my throat. I pressed my free hand over my mouth.

“You’re breathing heavily,” Damien said. “What’s going on?”

“Nothing,” I whispered. “I’m just tired.”

Adrian’s hand slid down between my legs. I was still wet from earlier. His fingers found my clit and rubbed slow circles. My hips jerked before I could stop them.

“Sophia.” Damien’s voice dropped. “Answer me properly. Where the hell are you?”

I couldn’t speak. Adrian pushed two fingers inside me, curling them just right. My eyes fluttered shut. A quiet moan slipped out before I could catch it.

I quickly covered my mouth with my hand.

“Fuck.”

There was a short silence on the other end of the line.

“What was that?” Damien asked, voice suddenly sharp. “Are you with someone?”

Adrian sucked harder on my nipple and thrust his fingers deeper. The pleasure built fast. I gripped the phone so tight my hand hurt.

“No,” I forced out, voice shaking. “I….i…I’m alone.”

“You don’t sound alone.”

Adrian’s thumb pressed harder against my clit while his fingers moved in and out. My thighs started to tremble. I bit down on my own hand to stay quiet, but another soft moan still escaped.

“Sophia.” Damien’s voice was cold now. “Tell me where you are right now.”

I couldn’t answer. Adrian kept going, steady and relentless. The pressure in my stomach coiled tighter and tighter. My breathing turned uneven. I was so close I could barely think.

“I… I’ll be home soon,” I managed to whisper.

“That’s not an answer.”

Then Adrian sat up,then moved slowly to my pussy. He teased me,then slowly used his warm tongue, he curled his fingers and sucked hard at the same time.

I’m right on the edge, trembling, trying desperately to stay quiet.

“Come for me,” adrian murmurs, low enough that only I can hear. “Come on my fingers while you think about how much better this feels than anything your husband ever gave you.” The orgasm hit me without warning. My whole body locked up. A broken moan spilled out of my mouth before I could stop it.

There was dead silence on the phone for two full seconds.

Then Damien spoke, voice low and dangerous.

“Who the fuck is with you? Is someone fucking you??? Sophia, fucking answer me!!”

I couldn’t breathe. My body was still shaking. Slowly, he withdraws his fingers. I watch in horrified fascination as he brings them to his mouth and licks them clean, his eyes locked on mine the entire time.

“Delicious,” he says softly.

Then he kissed the side of my neck, completely calm, like he hadn’t just made me come while my husband was on the line.

“Sophia,” Damien said again, louder this time. “Answer me. Where are you, and who is there with you?”

My hands were trembling. I stared at the dark wall in front of me, phone pressed to my ear, heart slamming against my ribs.

Adrian’s mouth brushed my ear.

“Tell him,” he murmured, “Or I will.”

I closed my eyes.

My voice came out barely above a whisper.

“I’ll call you back.”

I ended the call before Damien could say another word.

The room went completely quiet.

My phone screen went dark.

Adrian’s arm wrapped around my waist from behind. He pulled me back against his chest. I could feel him hard against me again.

I sit there trembling, unable to move, unable to think, my mind completely blank except for one repeating thought:

What the hell just happened?

“Who were you with?”He asked in a very calm tone. That made it worse. He stood in the middle of the guest room and looked at me like he already knew and only wanted to watch me lie.I closed the door. My bag was still in my hand. My legs still felt like they were outside, in that car, with Adrian Vale telling me last night was not over.“I needed air,” I said.He scoffed. “That’s the same sentence you used last night. Then you came home with no panties and another man’s smell on your skin.”“Don’t start.”“I already started.” He walked toward me. “You left after dinner. You used the back door. You were gone long enough to meet him.”“I walked.”“In those shoes? After I told you to stay in this room?”I didn’t answer. He stopped close enough that I could see the muscle jump in his jaw.“Was it the same man?”“There is no man.”“Sophia.” He said my name like a warning. “I heard you on that call. I heard you break. Don’t stand here and tell me you went outside to look at the garden.”My

I got in.Not because I had an answer but because the other choice was worse. If Adrian Vale knocked on that front door, Damien would see him, same as Bella. The whole house would know I had been with the one man in this city whose name could ruin me.The door shut. The car was quiet. It smelled like leather and his cologne. The same scent from last night. He didn’t look at me at first. He just drove. We only went a few streets away. Not far enough to disappear but far enough that the mansion lights were behind us.He parked under a tree and turned off the engine. Then he held out my ID.I took it. My fingers brushed his and immediately i felt my heart beating rapidly. I pulled my hand back fast.“There,” I said. “I have it. Now take me back.”He stared for a moment before speaking.“That’s all you came for?”“Yes.”“Then why are your hands shaking?”I looked down. “Fuck.” He was right. “Because this is dangerous,” I said. “Because you’re you. Because if anyone sees me in this car, t

  • The best friend i trusted   Chapter 8 – Family Table

I stared at the last message until my fingers went numb.I still have your panties, Sophia. There was only one person who could send that.Adrian Vale.I locked the phone and put it face down on the bed. It didn’t help at all. The words stayed in my head. The phone buzzed again.Don’t ignore me.I was about to type back when I heard footsteps in the hall.“Sophia.” Damien’s voice. “Downstairs. Now.”I shoved the phone into my bag, fixed my dress, and opened the door.He was already walking toward the stairs, like he didn’t need to check if I would follow. The dining room suddenly felt too tight to me. Bella sat on Damien’s right, in the chair that used to be mine. She had changed into a white dress. Her cheek was still a little red, but she looked pleased. There was a third plate across from her.It was for me.“Sit,” Damien said.I sat.A maid brought soup. Nobody spoke at first. Everyone started eating. Bella smiled at me. “You look better. A little.”I didn’t utter a word.Damien

  • The best friend i trusted   Chapter 7 – The Guest Wing

I stayed in the hallway longer than I should have, trying to process everything that just happened.Damien’s footsteps faded upstairs. The house went quiet again, but it didn’t feel empty. It felt like it was waiting for the next hit.I pulled my dress down properly and walked to the downstairs bathroom. I locked the door, turned on the tap, and cleaned myself with shaking hands. The water was cold. My thighs were sticky. My neck still burned where Damien had pulled my hair.I looked at myself in the mirror.Mascara under my eyes. Marks on my skin. A woman who left one man’s bed and walked straight into another man’s punishment.I washed my face and went upstairs. The master bedroom door was already open.Bella was inside. Two boxes sat on the bed. My clothes were in a pile on the floor, like someone had swept them out of the way. She was hanging a cream dress in my closet. Her perfume was already in the room. She looked up when she saw me and smiled.“Oh. You’re back.”I didn’t answer

  • The best friend i trusted   Chapter 6 – You Have a Lot of Explaining to Do

Damien stood on the last step and looked at me like I was some shit.“You have a lot of explaining to do.”I closed the door behind me. My bag felt heavy in my hand. My dress was wrinkled. My hair was a mess. I could still feel Adrian on my skin, and I hated that Damien could see all of it.“I told you I needed air,” I said.“Air??” He asked sarcastically while he came down the rest of the stairs slowly. “You needed air for the whole night? You needed air so bad you couldn’t answer your phone properly?”I stayed by the door. “I was upset.”“No,Sophia. You were with someone.”My throat tightened. “I just went to a bar.”“And then?”“And then I drank, that’s all.” I replied, trying so hard to keep my face calm.He stopped in front of me. Close enough that I could smell his cologne and I could see the anger sitting behind his calm face.“You came home smelling like another man.”I forced myself to look at him. “You were inside my best friend yesterday. In our matrimonial bed. Don’t stand t

  • The best friend i trusted   Chapter 5 – The Morning After

I sat on the edge of the bed with the sheet wrapped tightly around me.Morning light slipped through the thin curtains. My head ached and my body felt sore. The room still smelled like sex and his cologne. Everything about last night felt too real now that the alcohol was gone.Adrian was still in the bed behind me. He hadn’t said much since the call ended. He just watched me with that calm, unreadable expression, like he was waiting to see what I would do.I couldn’t look at him properly.Last night felt like it belonged to someone else. The drinks. The way he touched me. The way I let him. The way I came while my husband was on the phone. And his name.“Adrian Vale…..wait ADRIAN VALE!!”I pressed both hands against my face and let out a shaky breath as I remembered who he was. What the hell have I done?I stood up slowly, still holding the bed sheet, and started searching for my clothes. My dress was on the floor near the bed. I couldn’t find my panties, maybe because Adrian ripped i
