Two years later  

"Is he really coming back home?" I ask Alec with a large smiling spreading across my face.  

"Not for long though," Alec tells me, "a couple weeks, a month at the most."  

"My baby boy is finally coming back home!" I squeal and hug Alec, so tight that he starts gasping for air.  

"Don't tell anyone else," he says, "I already told Dad but that is it. He wants it to be a surprise." I nod, my giddy smile never leaving my face. Octavian enlisted into the navy right out of high school. He started right at the beginning of August that year and came back home that Christmas. I haven't seen him since, it's been a long year, well a little more, it's May now.  

"Aly is going to be so excited!" I exclaim and run to the kitchen, "when is he coming home?"  

"I believe tomorrow," Alec says and I give him wide eyes, "he told me to tell you last minute. I'm following orders here." I roll my ey
