Conan pulled a key out of his pocket and unlocked the door, slowly pushing it open. He waited for Ava to walk in before going in behind her and making a show of demonstrating the lock.

It was locked, but she could easily open it up. He was giving her the option to leave once more. She was in control, and she could end it all anytime she wanted.

But Ava didn't want this to end.

The smell of wood and vanilla assaulted her senses. It smelt like the overly expensive candles that Elaina kept gifting her even when she had no use for them.

Ava's eyes trailed the room. Besides the dimmed lighting and a few other aspects, this space was very different from the ones Camille had shown her in her earlier tour of The Blue Diamond.

This one was smaller and more intimate.
