“Come on,” Aria said, rising. “Let’s go see Jaxon.”

Zara sighed but followed. When they walked into Jaxon’s room, they found Damian already there, leaning against the wall, arms folded.

“Morning,” Aria greeted, her smile softening as she turned to Jaxon. “How are you feeling?”

Jaxon gave a curt nod. “Better. A little bit sore, but okay.”

They exchanged light conversation until Jaxon said, “I need to change the dressing.”
