Chapter 6 – If not here then where?

I tried my best to act dumb; do we have to speak of this in an enclosed space?

“The skirt I ruined last night. Should I give you the money to buy a new one or should I just take you shopping?”

“Sir? Can we speak about this some other time? This is not the appropriate place for this.”

He looked at me tall as he was, it looked like he would hurt his neck looking down at me.

“Is there a way to change your mind about that kiss? I really absolutely want to kiss you right now.”

‘I’d like to kiss you myself’ is what I want to say, but what I say is “Mr. Beckett, please control yourself.”

He laughs. I feel bad and greedy now, now that I am standing with this man in the elevator, my knees feeling weak as he speaks.

“You want to order something to eat as well today?” he asks nonchalantly as we enter his car. Surprisingly, he is driving his usual black SUV.

“Alright.”

The drive home is tense. I can see him looking at me in his mirror, though he is driving, his eyes are looking at me, who is sitting in the back seat.

He is aware that I can see him look at me and, for some reason, this does not faze him.

“Miss Marino, may I ask you for a favor?”

“What would this favor be, sir?”

“Well, can I stop this car and come back there and kiss you?” His seductive voice washed me away like a wave. I nodded my head without thinking.

“No… I mean…. Well.”

“Yes or no, Miss Marino? I really am trying my best to control myself like you ordered, but it seems your beauty is giving me a hard time here.

“Huh….” Open relationship. Last night, I opened the gates that I didn’t know and now I am standing in murky water that I have let in myself.

It is not like I didn’t want him to. No, after the kiss last night, he was the only man that occupied my mind.

And that scares me. It scares me about how far I will go once I open even more of the gates, keeping the flooding out.

Maybe the whole of the earth will be submerged along with myself, under the embrace of one Brian Beckett.

“Sure, I wouldn’t mind kissing you sir,” I finally say.

I can see his lips curve into a smile before turning in the direction of a mall, as he looks for a secure parking spot.

I can feel my whole body heat up. This feels scandalous but exciting, the opposite of Brian Beckett.

He parks and opens his door. As he enters where I am seated, I feel tingles of excitement in all parts of my body.

He pulls away from my lips, but he doesn’t pull away from me, his hands move to unbutton my shirt and move my bra to expose my breasts.

He continues to go back to his seat and starts driving me back home. I feel a storm brewing inside me. How dare he get me this hot just to say not here?
