PROTECTING HIM

“Captain Stone, I assume you have news.”

I had been looking at the spot where we busted Jesse Harding, a few hours ago, there had been nothing but fizz and gaps in my thoughts the second I pulled off the hoodie from the back of his head.

I spotted him first and now that I think about it, he turned around and winked at me, his teeth glistening in the dark, and he ran. The run must have been fun for him, he never gave it his all.

If he was serious about running, would I have been able to catch him?
