Selene and her crew managed to escape from the shooters.

They walked for a long distance without rest, and finally got to the Glass yard Kellan had mentioned.

On the ridge above the Glass Yard, the world felt colder than it should.

Selene crouched behind a low bank of shale, her fingers flexed against the leather strap. She knows Lydia is in there somewhere inside that compound, and the thought pushed a steady thrum of panic into her chest.

Caius moved beside her, “We go in from the east,” he said. “There’s a service gate that won’t be watched as heavily.”
