I paced back and forth inside my room as I felt a bit shaken.

“I shouldn't have said that to Damien. What would he even think of me?”

I know, of course, he would assume that I want to go back to Aiden.

“I can't. I can't. I can't even think about something like that. Aiden would never accept me. What's wrong with you, Sophia? Why exactly are you thinking about that treacherous being? After everything he did to you, you think you still have a chance with him?”

I questioned myself as I tried to calm my nerves. Thank God I was able to stop Damien from coming, or else he would say everything he had in mind. And of course, he would say some hurtful words to me.

“For me ever daring to talk about Aiden and thinking I would ever have a chance with him, it was all out of stupidity, out of imagination. How could I ever go and investigate his new wife? Even going as far as getting her name and information, trying to confirm if he had any children with her. Only then would I lose hope.
