Damien turned towards his subordinate with a mocking smile on his face. It could not possibly be called a smile as it was a slight tilt of his lips, but it was enough to pass across the message to his subordinate.
"If you can not find a single girl by yourself then you should probably not be working as my second in command." Damien remarked, the slight tilt wiping from his face.
"I'm so sorry boss, I'll make sure she is found in the next 48 hours and brought to you, dead or alive." His second in command apologized, bowing his head helplessly.
The boss called her just a woman but she was the sneakiest woman he had ever met in his life, she easily slipped away, hiding and causing them a whole lot of stress.
When he finally gets his hands on her, he would make sure to teach her a lesson for getting him scolded continuously for the past six months.
"You have 24 hours or else, summit your letter of resignation and prepare to go through punishment for the next three months to compensate for your lack of ability."
Kelvin sighed helplessly, how was he to find that woman in 24 hours, if he could not for the past six months. His boss was being so inconsiderate towards him.
"I want her alive." Damien added, what use was a dead girl going to be to him?
" The Russian syndicate's are waiting, don't keep them standing." Damien remarked, pulling away from the railing and walking ahead.
Kelvin who was busy lamenting about his predicament internally, quickly followed after Damien, putting his lamentations on hold, he could continue after the party.
The party was just a guise put in place by the Mafia to welcome the crime boss of the Russia syndicate to the country and city. Their presence would not be noticed in a place like this, and it would not alert the government either.
.....
Amara stood still, watching the amount of people dancing and having fun while sipping wine from their glasses. This party was far from civilized and in a few minutes it would possibly turn into something else.
Disgusted by the smell of alcohol and wine, Amara stepped back making her way back to the door. She had seen two stairs when coming into the hall, it was time to explore.
While walking, Amara was busy trying to fish before mirror out of her bag when she bumped into a broad chested man, causing her bag to fall from her hand.
Amara had not seen the man's face but she was irritated by the smell of his cologne already. Bending down to pick up her bag, Amara picked it up, stood up and glared at the man in front of her.
"Oh wow, so handsome." The chirping little imaginary devil hanging on her shoulders remarked but she chased it away with a shake of her head.
"You should watch where you are going." Damien remarked in a calm tone, jolting Amara out of her reverie with the little imaginary devil.
"What did you just say? I think you have it all missed up, it is you who should watch where you are going. This is a passageway." Amara remarked, glaring hard at him.
Like most people, Amara only knew the Don was changed and it was no longer the old Don but she didn't know the facts of the new Don nor his Identity.
Damien cocked a brow, this woman was scolding him. She had been the one to bump into him but she was scolding him?
Kelvin watched from the back with a smile, the attention of the boss was no longer on him but on the foolish girl who was blind enough not to recognize the boss.
"If that's all, I'll take my leave." Amara remarked, stepping to the side.
She could feel the intensity of Damien's gaze in her, any longer and his stare would probably burn her mask and expose her identity to the public.
Damien watched as the young lady walked away without spearing him any more glance. "Who is she?" He asked when she was out of ear shot.
Kelvin quickly opened the list of vetted invitations and easily found her name on the list given by the guard. "That should be Mara Vance, the art curator."
"An art curator?" Damien asked, staring at the stairs where Amara just disappeared.
"Yes sir."
"Are there any art pieces for show today?"
"Not for show, but there are some pieces that have been placed in strategic spots just to catch the Russian's eyes just like you asked me to earlier." Kelvin remarked.
Damien found something fishy about the art curator, he had met the art curator a number of times and she knew his identity but a moment ago, she didn't seem to recognize who he was.
He was not putting on a mask like the rest of the people at the party either.
"Sir, the Russians are here." Kelvin informed him, straightening and staring towards the group of men who were walking towards the stairs.
The guards outside had led them in through a secret door in the passage way, to avoid disrupting the crowd who would go into a frenzy from seeing men dressed in black.
"Mr. Rossi, a privilege to finally meet you." The Russian boss, Draven Serchoka muttered, stretching out his hand for a handshake.
"Mr. Serchoka, the pleasure is all mine. Welcome to New York." Damien remarked, taking his hand and giving him a handshake.
"We should take the discussion somewhere else. There are so many eyes here, I fear we might get eaves dropped on." Draven remarked, flashing a smile.
Draven was one of the under bosses who was known for his ruthless and cunningness, his smile was specially designed to deceive his enemies and make them feel they were two steps ahead.
Pulling back from her, he hoisted her up and placed her on his shoulder. His presence here was no longer needed, he didn't host the charity gala, so he didn't need to be here.Amara barely had time to react before she realized she was being carried on Damien's shoulders. Snapping back to reality, Amara hit him with her hands, demanding to be let go."What are you doing? Where are you taking me?" Amara muttered, yelling, she hoped she could free herself from his hold.Damien paid deaf ears to her words, climbing down the stairs regardless of her protests, and continued walking, going towards the secret exit to avoid drawing attention to himself."Someone help me! Let me go!" Amara screamed once again, hoping someone would see them leaving and save her.But who was she kidding? No one could stop the Mafia boss from taking whoever he liked, he was the boss for a reason. But she still had to try her luck, she knew she had to."You'd better stop yelling or you'll get yourself spanked and pu
"Hello Kitten, going somewhere?" A deep baritone voice muttered, the voice shimmering with excitement and tension. Amara felt the hair on her back stand, goosebumps forming all over her skin, chills went down her spine, keeping her rotted to the spot she was standing. That voice, that name, only one man called her that.Only one person could make the hair on her body stand and cause chills to form within her soul, she turned around, her eyes filled with horror."Didn't think you could leave without my notice right?" Damien remarked, smirking.Amara felt her throat burn, the anxiety climbing up her chest. How had she failed to pay attention to that voice? That look, the ruthless, dangerous and soul ripping look being given by him."You..." She muttered, gasping alongside talking. It felt as though all the air had been stolen from her lungs and there was nothing left for her to breathe in or out.Damien moved closer, his left hand tucked into his pants. The dim light on the rooftop ma
Draven was one of the under bosses who was known for his ruthless and cunningness, his smile was specially designed to deceive his enemies and make them feel they were two steps ahead.Damien was no fool, he could easily see through the cunning mask on Draven's face and he knew fully well not to trust the man or trust his antics. Damien gave Kelvin a signal, which Kelvin immediately understood."Mr. Draven, please this way. We tailored the lounge area to your taste as specified by your assistant." Kelvin remarked, leading the way up the stairs, he was quickly to throw the Russia boss assistant into the conversation to avoid being picked on.Kelvin unlike most Mafia subordinates was full of life, loved the little things of life, enjoyed doing menial things but was also cunning and blood thirsty. His simple and polished look, gave the impression of him being a fool but he was far from that.Everyone went up the stairs, while Damien soared a glare towards the other stairway. He could not

~ Manhattan, New York. ~"Get her! Don't let her escape."Amara ran, tears streaming down her cheeks and running as quickly as her legs could take her. The men chased after her, eager to catch her and bring her back to their boss.Amara took a deep breath, coming to a stop in front of a two way street, two way street, she didn't know which way to go from there. His men could be anywhere, he owned the city, every corner of the city."Where is she? Quickly split through the streets, let's find her." One of the men chasing after her said to the others loudly. He forged forward while the others split.Amara realized there was no escape for her, she was out of breath and could not make it far enough to escape these predators. While thinking, Amara spotted the ladies gym in front of her."Thank God." She whispered. The Mafia boss's men would be unable to enter there, although they owned the city, they barely showed themselves off to the world.Amara made her way forward, eagerly stepping in
