LOGINDeven's Point Of View
"I am so going to kill her! Oh my goodness! What am I going to do?" I screamed as I walked out of the bathroom for the umpteenth time.
"Urgh!" I groaned as I laid flat on my face on my bed."What the heck did she give me?" I questioned myself against my bed.
"Was I poisoned? She dare not!" I yelled as I got up immediately in shock.
"What if she really poisoned me? What if she was sent by my rivals?" I said perambulating.
"No!!!" I yelled.
"Sir! Is everything okay?" Someone asked me amidst my stress. I don't need this now.
"Who is that?" I struggled to ask as I turned to face whoever it was.
"Sir, Felix!" He answered.
"Ohh… you… how can… can I help you?" I groaned as I walked back to the bed."I heard you scream so I came to check upon you, sir! Is all well?" He asked fidgeting on his spot. What's wrong with him?
"Are you the new guy?" I asked as I held my stomach, the movement was terrible.
The loud low dull continuous noise and turning in every direction produced a stinging pain, very painful, below my belly button.
"Yes sir, I came in last week. It will be one week from tomorrow. I can't…" he was explaining when I had to rush to the toilet in a bolt. A hot sensation ran down my stomach to my bowel and I felt the urge to release.
"Sir? Sir?!" I heard him call, as I slammed the door.
"Sir? Sir! Sir?" He yelled. Was he close to the toilet now or he is still in his spot? Because I don't understand why his voice sounds closer. Oh, no! Since I met her I haven't been normal, what did she give me? I am not okay!
"What… do… you… want? What is… it?" I groaned as I struggled on the toilet.
"Are you okay?" He asked again, getting on my nerves was natural for this guy.
"Dude! You're irritating me! Get the freak out of my privacy!" I yelled at the door where I knew he was possibly standing.
"Oh!" Was the only response that came from him before I heard the door slam shut.
"Oh… oh… oh! Ughs!" When will this end? When!
************
"Hey, Felix! Come here!" I yelled into the intercom before slamming it back into its case. I walked back to my bed, I had no strength anymore, everything had gone down the toilet.
"Oh my goodness! I'm so dead! So freak dead! Is this how freaking dying is?" I said to myself. I haven't accomplished anything, I haven't done that one thing I want to do so badly. Why do I have to be in this condition now?
Slowing a lukewarm liquid ran down my face. Geez! Was that a tear? Why will I be tearing up just because I can't stop purging? Freaking nonsense!
There was a knock on the door and I just stared at the door communicating through my mind but that's impossible because the person at the other side of the door isn't connected. The knock started again.
"Come in!" I yelled, startling myself. The door opened slowly and I saw a head with messed up black hair, Jordan. Boy! This isn't the time to play silly games."What do you want?" I yelled again, startling him. Ouch! My throat hurts and I think I was too harsh on myself.
"Sorry sir, I just came to remind you of your eight o'clock meeting with the executives. You know you can't afford to miss it, not again," he stated with a sly smile before looking me over from head to toe where I laid on the bed with my hands gripping the duvet.
"What…" I said with a raised voice, "do you mean 'again'?" I asked with a much lower voice while trying to hide my pain from my face.
"We have missed this meeting so many times that we can't afford to miss it this time, sir," he explained.
Whatever!
"Where were you when I was screaming?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Were you? I didn't notice anything like that," he said with a frown.
"Then how did the new boy, Felix or what is he called, hear me? Aren't you supposed to be after me? Making sure I am super fine," I complained. What am I? A baby? Geez! Was I just seeking for attention now? Ugh!
"He was patrolling this floor and I was in the kitchen. Making sure your food is prepared and not tampered with. I'm still doing my duties because everything I do is just for you," he said confidently.
"Whatever! Don't talk to me like I am your girlfriend or sort!" I said nonchalantly.
"Where is this freaking boy?" I yelled. It's been more than five minutes since I called for this boy.
"Who?" Jordan asked as he walked to my desk to drop some files he was holding initially.
"Felix of course!" I yelled and just in time there was a knock on the door and without my permission it opened.
"Sir?" He said, looking like he didn't do anything.
"Where have you been?" I asked much calmer than I expected.
"I was in the toilet taking a pee," he explained, avoiding my eyes. He wasn't lying though and he still smelled of his urine.
"A pee? For how long?" I asked.
"I take a lot of water so naturally I'd stay longer in the toilet than usual," he explained smiling.
Jordan and I shared a look and he started laughing slowly, his hand to his mouth.
"Wow, isn't that nice?" I said smiling. "I think I need to pick up your habit," I said but this brat, Jordan, won't stop chuckling.
"Hey, Jordan, leave this minute! No! This second!" I ordered. Why won't he stop laughing? Does he find it weird? But it isn't bad.
Oh no! Not again! The vibration from inward was turning into its usual loud low continuous noise.
"Hmm! Boy! Quickly call Miss Donna for me," I said but gave it a second thought before he left the room. "Hey, boy! Just tell her to prepare me soup, chicken soup to be preferable," I told him before he jolted out again.
"Hey boy! Boy! Felix! Fe…" what is wrong with this lad? Why does he like half information?
I looked at the clock on the wall on my way to the toilet and it said thirty minutes past seven. Geez! I have thirty minutes left before the meeting.
"I'm so going to kill her!"
Amora and the group ventured further into the woods, noticing an unusual calmness that had fallen over the usually noisy forest. The atmosphere was dense, filled with stress and an unknown, ominous presence that eluded identification by all involved. Each movement seemed to lead them away from security and towards the hidden threat waiting nearby. Amora walked in front, her senses heightened. She was overwhelmed, her thoughts racing as she tried to comprehend the magnitude of the situation. The Alpha King's power was growing, and if Kael and the others were correct, there were traitorous wolves within their own group trying to undermine them. The thought of an unseen foe caused a shiver to run down her spine, particularly one that could be hiding nearby. However, the true burden weighing on her was not solely the fear of being betrayed. She had taken on the responsibility with reluctancy. Although she had agreed to assist, she understood that merely helping wouldn't suffice. Not at t
The following day arrived silently, like a shadow encroaching on the outskirts of a dream. Amora awoke before sunrise, the sky remaining dark, her thoughts from the night before already consuming her mind. Kael's words had a weight that stayed with you, like dense smoke that couldn't be brushed away. Reclining quietly, she focused on the consistent pattern of her breath, attempting to collect her thoughts before confronting the impending truth. She wasn't prepared to confront the group once more. And she absolutely wasn't prepared to confront what was hiding in the darkness, biding its time to attack. However, whether prepared or not, the world kept moving forward for everyone, especially for her.The clearing mentioned by Kael was located several miles beyond the city, concealed deep in the woods. It had been years since she last visited, since she departed from the group and everything unraveled. The memories of that location were intertwined with her own sorrow, too agonizing to g
The forest was draped with silence as heavy as a blanket in the night. Amora's every breath was calculated, fearing that breathing too deeply could expose her innermost thoughts. Meeting Nikolai had made her feel uneasy, although she would never acknowledge it openly. His words of caution reverberated in her thoughts. A war is on the horizon. She couldn't refute the plain truth in his statement, despite her desire to do so.She experienced the heaviness, as though the sky was on the verge of bursting open and unleashing chaos on her world.Moving forward cautiously, she scanned the horizon once more. There were only trees and shadows around, but she couldn't rid herself of the sensation that eyes were observing her from all directions. Her usual instincts were correct, and tonight they were loudly alerting her.Conflict. The sound echoed like a far-off drumming, tugging at the innermost core of her existence. While she walked back to the edge of the woods, her mind wandered to Deven.
Amora felt the ground underneath her change drastically. Not only did a storm rage in the skies, but also in her heart. Each day seemed like a struggle to maintain her composure as everything surrounding her loomed to tear her apart. She stood on the outskirts of the forest, feeling the blend of moisture and pine scent in the air, combined with the stress that had been lingering with her for days. The silence became too thick and too still, reminiscent of a familiar feeling, as if the world was anticipating something dreadful to occur. Her blue eyes scanned the trees as she tucked a stray lock of her black hair behind her ear. There was something present outside. She sensed it under her skin, like a second heartbeat, pulsing quietly and consistently. Since her altercation with Deven, she couldn't shake the sense of impending danger. His gray eyes had penetrated her defenses, and his words lingered in her mind like a haunting presence. However, this was no longer concerning him. This c
Amora’s POVStepping out of the boathouse, the cold night air felt like a sudden slap, making me wrap my jacket tighter around me. I was frantically trying to connect the dots between all that had occurred and what was yet to come.Nikolai. Kaida. A werewolf turning on their own species. It seemed as though I was trapped in a never-ending nightmare. However, I needed to remain concentrated. If there was one lesson I had learned from my previous experiences, it was that displaying vulnerability could lead to death. I wasn't going to allow that to happen once more.I had accepted Deven's plan because, in my heart, I understood it was the sole choice. However, that didn't make things less difficult. Returning to the group was the final thing I desired to avoid. They left me, ignored me when I needed them the most. Was I expected to return casually and act as if I was there for assistance?I was uncertain if I could achieve it.However, if it involved halting Nikolai, if it involved safeg
Deven’s POVAmora’s eyes never left mine as the weight of the situation began to sink in. We were in this together now, whether we liked it or not. And the thought of facing Nikolai, vampires, and whatever else came our way was daunting. But the moment she agreed to fight alongside me, something inside me shifted—an unspoken bond that couldn’t be broken, no matter how much I tried to deny it before.“I’ll contact the pack,” she said, her voice more confident, even though I could see the hesitation in her eyes. “But we’ll need a plan. They won’t just listen to me after everything that’s happened.”“I’ll figure out the details,” I replied, pacing the small room as I thought it through. “We need leverage, something that’ll convince them this is in their best interest too.”“Leverage?” she questioned, raising an eyebrow. “They’re werewolves, Deven. They don’t respond well to threats.”“Not threats,” I corrected, pausing mid-stride. “Incentives. They’ll want something in return for helping
