Natasha stormed into her mansion, the grand entrance swallowing the sharp sound of her heels as she tossed her bag onto the marble floor.

Her mother—poised and polished—stood waiting in the foyer, her expression a perfect mask of concern and expectation.

“Natasha, darling, we need to discuss Jason’s wedding,” she said, her voice smooth but firm. “This is already a done deal.”

Natasha’s stomach twisted, a familiar knot forming deep inside her.

“I won’t marry Argun,” she replied, her voice steady, though a hint of desperation slipped through.

Her mother’s expression didn’t waver, but her eyes hardened slightly.

“It’s arranged, Natasha. Your future is set. The Jasons are a powerful family, and this alliance will secure our business interests,” she said sharply.

Natasha’s anger boiled over.

“I hate this! I won’t be a business deal! Can’t I have a say in my own life?”

Her mother’s tone turned cold, a warning edge creeping in.

“Natasha, you are being dramatic and selfish. This is about more than just you—it’s about the family. Our legacy.”

As the argument escalated, Natasha felt the walls closing in, her breath catching in her throat. She needed to escape—to get out of this suffocating mansion and breathe.

Without another word, she turned and rushed to her room, slamming the door behind her.

Tears stung her eyes as she collapsed onto her bed, her vision blurring.

“Why can’t they understand? Why do they hate me so much?” she whispered, curling into herself as if trying to hold the pieces together.

Meanwhile, Michael clocked in at his part-time job at a small, worn-down café. The smell of stale coffee and old leather greeted him like an old friend.

“Hey, bro!” the owner, Mr. Lee, called out from behind the counter. “Tuition fees are due soon, right?”

Michael nodded, tying his apron as he prepared for another long shift.

“Yeah… and I need to help my mom too,” he said quietly.

As he worked, his mind drifted to his family’s struggles—his father’s illness, the endless medical bills, and the weight of responsibility resting on his shoulders.

He pushed the thoughts aside and focused on his work, his hands moving with practiced ease as he cleaned tables and served customers.

After his shift, Michael made his way home, his backpack feeling heavier with every step.

The door barely opened before his little sister, Chloe, ran to him, her face lighting up.

“Mike! Mom made dinner!” she said excitedly, grabbing his hand.

Michael smiled softly, ruffling her hair.

“Did you do your homework?”

As they sat down to eat, Michael’s thoughts drifted back to Natasha—her sharp words, her cold eyes.

“Why does she hate me so much?” he murmured under his breath.

He shook his head, pushing the thought away, focusing instead on his family… and his art—his only escape from everything weighing him down.

Natasha’s phone buzzed, breaking the silence in her room.

Maya: Hey girl, how’s it going?

Natasha sniffed, quickly typing back.

Natasha: It’s a nightmare. Jason’s wedding.

Maya: Forget that. Let’s ditch everything and binge movies tonight.

A small smile tugged at Natasha’s lips—a spark of rebellion flickering to life.

Natasha: Deal.

As Natasha settled in for a night of mindless TV, trying to forget her reality, Michael finished his simple dinner.

His eyes drifted to his sketchbook lying nearby.

He picked it up slowly.

His art—his only escape in a chaotic world.
