Chapter 1
Milo’s POV
The sharp ends of the silver chains continued to dig into my tender, smooth skin, enough to leave marks, but I endured it.
Just like I have been enduring for years.
I gritted my teeths in pain, but didn’t dare to let it out.... It's not like it would matter anyway,
Because today my fate was sealed already.
I sat in the middle of my father’s grand sitting room that was filled with an unspoken tension. With my back straight and my expression unreadable. my dress clung to my body like it was a second skin. And by so doing bringing out my hidden shape and stature, I always try so hard to keep hidden.
I looked just like her. My sick twin sister,
Millen.
Today is the day that I would be offered as a pet to one of the most dangerous men on earth.
My name is Milo, though it hardly matters. No one calls me that. To them, I am nothing but an abomination. A disgrace. An Omega.
I am 5,5 feet tall, barely escaping shortness, unlike my twin sister that was at a staggering 6,0 foot tall. Where I was slender and thin as a result of lack of food. My sister had a fit athletic figure, with all her shape well defined by the rigorous training she puts herself under.
Comparing me to millen was like comparing an ant to a lion.
That was my sad life. A defenseless Male omega. My sister and I had a good relationship when we were small. We were so close as twins and would do everything together.
but as times continued to pass, the disparity between the two of us created a huge tension, drifting us further away from each other. As if that was not all, my sister, the precious jewel of the family, the only female alpha, mysteriously fell sick with a serious illness.
Unfortunately, it was the time that my father, who is the alpha of my pack, owed a ridiculous amount of money to the mafian king. A notorious and feared mafia lord. Having no way to pay back such money in a short time, my whole pack was plunged in fear of what the mafian king might do to us.
but when it looked like we were going to be doomed, a message was sent by the mafia king. A loophole meant to free us from the wrath of the mafia king, but only on one condition.
my sick sister.
And without even thinking twice, I was offered in her place.
I am weak. I had a slender and small frame. With white flowing hair that reached my back, and a perfect delicate smooth skin.
I was born an omega.
An abomination.
A male Omega. Something that has never happened before. And as if that was not enough. On my 18th day, I couldn't transform into my wolf.
The memory was still fresh in my mind, the day me and my sister and I had turned 18th, even as an omega I was expected to turn, but unfortunately, I failed woefully. As if that was not all, my sister found her wolf that same night, an alpha wolf.
It was as if all gates of hatred were let open starting from that day, especially my father, who could not even look me in the face again. Without scrunching in disgust.
My mother paid deaf ears to all the maltreatment I was subjected to.
Tears stung in my eyes. I wanted to cry, but I would not dare try it, if not. My father would beat the living daylights out of me for trying to spoil the deal that was almost sealed.
It was my decision, well as if I had a choice, it wouldn't be.
“I had done this for her” I continued to assure myself. I had promised her I would do this.
But that didn’t mean I wasn’t afraid of the outcome of what I had been forced to agree to do.
But even so, I had no regrets. I would do it again if I had to, to save my sister. Wasn’t the whole point of living. being there for your family.
In my world, that is ruled by strength. The notion of being a pet was not a strange occurrence. It was like being a slave which is normal as only mafia kings rule our world.
but a male is being taken as a pet. Well, that has never been heard of.
That was why I was painted with heavy makeup and dressed in my sister's clothes after a long search, since she was way bigger than mine.
I was impersonating my sister.
I know it was a dangerous thing to do, but my parents couldn't care less as long as it was me. damning myself would keep their precious daughter safe.
My father stood near the fireplace, his hands clasped behind his back, a sheepish smile plastered on his face, as if he is not the same father that wants to hand his son over like some bargaining chip.
He was the Alpha of our pack. a man who prided himself on power, on control, but here he was, grinning like a merchant who had just closed a good deal.
In this case, it was the best deal for everyone. as his precious and Alpha daughter is safe and sound, while the disgrace and abomination of the pack are being bundled off.
My mother sat stiffly beside him, her hands curled into the fabric of her dress. She hadn’t spoken a word. Hadn’t even looked me straight in the eyes.
Coward.
I swallowed the bitter bile rising in my throat. This was necessary. I reminded myself over and over again. Millen wouldn’t survive being a pet. Not with her sickness. She wasn’t built for it.
Maybe I was.
The knock came like a gunshot. Shocking everyone in the room.
The doors swung open, and he stepped inside.
A fierce-looking man, broad and battle-worn, with the presence of someone who had killed more men than he could count, towered over the door entrance. In his hands was a small shiny revolver gun.
I shivered uncontrollably as his gaze swept across the room, in a cold scrutinizing way before it settled on me.
His brows furrowed for only a second, like he was seizing me up, checking if I was a fit pet for whoever his master is.
“This is the one?” His voice was deep, emotionless.
My father nodded. “Yes. Take her.”
I forced my expression to remain blank as the man strode toward me. I had expected him to untie my chains. He didn’t. Instead, he yanked me to my feet like I was no more than an object.
I stumbled, almost breaking my legs with how foreign it felt walking on heels, even after so much practice. The heavy dress tangled at my feet, but I caught myself just in time.
But I was not backing down.
I would protect my twin sister with my blood. Even if it means that my freedom would be at stake. I was suffering from my family.
The fierce man didn’t even glance at me. Just turned sharply and dragged me forward, away from a house I had called home throughout my life.
The comfortable seat of the car was like torns to my bottom. I couldn’t stop the loud pounding of my heart as the car pulled away from my pack, driving into an unknown land.
How did it come to this? The hatred, all the disappointments…
Everything that has happened in the last few hours was like a film to me. I closed my eyes as the memories of the last 12 hours flashed through my mind.
My father had a look of visible relief, and my mother…she hadn’t been outward like my father in showing her happiness, but I could feel her relief.
The pain came again, like a knife that was plunged deep into my heart.
Couldn't they, at least, just pretend to have cared.
But noo. Instead, they saw me as a liability they couldn't wait to get rid of.
As we continued to go further away from the familiar forest of my pack, deeper into the mafian king tuff.
I finally let the tears I have been holding throughout my house slip through my eyes. Blocking my vision.
Chapter 212: prepears to fightDamon povThe slight peaceful moment shattered."Found you," Millen's voice rang out, cold and venomous.her perfect features twisted with fury. Blood stained her pristine white outfit… something told me that it was never hers. And Behind her, more soldiers filed in, but these ones were different. Their eyes shone a darker shade than the other enhancers that were now freed. They were still under her control."Her personal guard," Selene said grimly. "She must have given them a different serum. Stronger binding than the others."Millen's gaze swept the room, taking in the freed soldiers, before her gaze finally landed on the baby in Milo's arms. Her eyes widened, and for a moment, genuine shock crossed her face. The soldiers who had sworn loyalty to my son surged forward, but Millen raised her hand. They froze mid-step, confusion crossing their faces."Did you think breaking my compulsion made you immune to me?" She laughed, cold and cruel. "I created yo
Damon's POVThe baby's cry pierced through the chaos like a blade cutting through silk.High, thin, and utterly perfect. And my world stopped…. NooEverything stopped. The soldier lunging toward me froze mid-strike, his enhanced muscles locked in place. Another, who had Selene pinned against the wall, went rigid, his hands falling away from her throat. “Fucking piece of shit” selene cursed, shoving him off, but he hardly reacted to the shove. Across the room, every single enhanced warrior stood motionless, their weapons lowering slowly to their sides, like robots.Their eyes…those cold, dead eyes that had shown nothing but blind obedience… suddenly cleared. Confusion rippled across their faces, followed by shock, then horror."What..." one of them whispered, staring down at his blood-covered hands. "What have I done?""It's a boy," Daphne's emotional voice filtered through my ears, but it sounded like she was speaking under water, I stared, not at the chaos that was about to descen
Chapter 210: the babyDamon's POV"Move!" I barked, adjusting Milo's weight in my arms as another contraction seized him. His scream echoed through the corridor, raw and agonizing. We stumbled through the temple's maze-like passages, Selene half-carrying Daphne who seemed to still be in shock, her eyes vacant, tears still streaming down her face. Behind us, lay the evidence of the sacrifice of a warrior. The sounds of battle had ceased entirely. The silence was somehow worse than the fighting had been."There!" Selene pointed to a familiar door. "The storage room where they kept us."We burst through, but I barely paused before pushing forward. "No, this would hardly do," I lamented, looking around the room."The experiment room," Daphne said quietly, her voice hollow.“Which experiment?...” I asked, but she was moving, her healer's instincts overriding her grief. "Yes. There will be supplies there. Medical equipment for milos delivery."We found it at the end of another corridor… th
Damon's POVMilo's body went limp in my arms, his head lolling against my chest. But I could still feel the contractions wracking through him, could see his face contorting with pain even in unconsciousness. His body was tearing itself apart, and there was nothing I could do to stop it."Milo," I whispered, my voice breaking. "Milo, please. Stay with me."Millen's laugh echoed through the temple, cold and triumphant. She stood at the entrance with her soldiers fanning out behind her, blocking our only escape route. The fear that had filled her eyes moments ago was gone, replaced by vindictive fury."Did you really think I would just leave?" she asked, stalking toward us with predatory grace. She stopped ten feet away, her eyes fixed on Milo's trembling form. "That power spike…it burned through him too fast. His body can't handle it. The baby can't handle it." Her smile widened. "He's dying, and there's nothing you can do about it."Rage exploded through me, so hot and violent it burne
Chapter 208 Milo pov I could now see the true extent of his injuries. His broken body lay at the base of the altar. Still and cold and lifeless. The bond was still severed and empty. Pain lanced through my chest, sharp and terrible even through the power flooding my system. "He died for nothing," Millen said, following my gaze. Some of her confidence was returning now that the initial shock had worn off. "Your mate threw away his life, let that curse consume him, and for what? You might have power now, omega, but you're still weak. Still soft." She began circling me, her movements predatory once more. "Power means nothing without the will to use it." The thought took root inside me. Together with the realization that my mate might actually be dead. I squashed that thought immediately, forcing away the tears that wanted to fall. “Can we revive him?” i asked desperately, but lior only gave a grunt and that was it. "You're thinking about him," Millen said, noticing where my divide
Milo pov Time seemed to stop for me. My shaking hands held the vial Aldrich had thrown to me. Millen's face contorted with a rage so pure and terrible that she barely looked human anymore. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" Her scream shook the very foundations of the temple. She lunged for Aldrich, her enhanced speed making her a blur. But Aldrich was ready. He met her charge with his blade raised, he managed to deflect her strike in a shower of sparks. And within the space of 5 seconds, they exchanged over a hundred blows, , a deadly dance of betrayal and fury. "What I should have done from the start!" Aldrich shouted back, his voice strained with effort as he parried another of her strikes. "Chosen the right side!" "You DARE betray me?!" Millen's fist caught him in the ribs, sending him flying backward into a pillar. Stone cracked. "After everything I've given you?! Everything I've done for you?!" "Given me?" Aldrich coughed, blood on his lips, but he pushed himself upright. "You've us
