The words hung heavy in the air, the finality of her decision echoing like a haunting melody. Allora had reached her breaking point, and the love that once bound them was now replaced by a desire for freedom and peace.

The room seemed to suffocate with tension as the truth of their broken marriage hung like a specter in the air. The love story that had once held so much promise was now a tangled web of lies and deceit.

Mason was shocked. He looked at her as though she was a stranger. It was the first time in three years that he was trying to understand what was on her mind.

But Allora did not care anymore.

With a heavy heart, Allora turned away from the man she once loved, the tears in her eyes a testament to the pain and sorrow she felt. The love she had once cherished was now a bittersweet memory, and as she walked away, she vowed to rebuild her life with the strength and resilience that had carried her through the darkest of times.

The room remained cloaked in silence, the aftermath of a love that had crumbled under the weight of lies and betrayal.

As Allora stumbled out of the hospital, her body felt like a fragile shell, drained of all energy. The adrenaline that had fueled her during the intense conflict with the bodyguards had now dissipated, leaving her weak and struggling to maintain her balance.

Clutching her phone tightly, Allora dialed a number she knew by heart. She needed help, someone she could trust in this moment of vulnerability.

A surge of relief washed over her when a black Lincoln pulled up in front of her. The door opened, and a handsome man in a well-tailored suit stepped out of the car.

Uncle Rowan, her trusted confidante and guardian, had come to her rescue. His strong presence was a reassuring sight amidst the chaos that had consumed her life.

But Allora's strength had reached its breaking point, and as soon as she saw him, she could no longer hold on. Her legs gave way, and she collapsed.

With swift reflexes, Uncle Rowan strode forward, his arms outstretched to catch Allora before she hit the ground. His face was a mix of concern and determination as he cradled her in his arms, her fragile form resting against his chest.

"Uncle Rowan..." Allora murmured, her voice barely audible. She felt safe and protected in his embrace.

"I am here, Allora," he said soothingly, his voice a gentle whisper. "You are safe now."

With a tenderness that only a father figure could possess, Uncle Rowan carefully lifted Allora into his arms. Her head rested against his shoulder, and she felt the steady rhythm of his heartbeat, a familiar and comforting sound that lulled her into a sense of security.

The atmosphere in the room was extremely tense.

Everyone was acutely aware of Mason's anger over what had just happened.

Even Kylie's attending doctor was trembling in fear.

Throwing the report to the floor, Mason glared at the doctor and asked coldly, "Kidney rupture? She needs a kidney transplant? What the hell is this?"

The doctor's forehead was slick with sweat. Unable to explain himself under Mason's scrutiny, he merely whimpered.

Mason gave the doctor a final warning.

"By making such a stupid mistake, you have shown me that you do not deserve to be a doctor anymore!"

The doctor shook like a leaf. He knew Mason was being serious. With just a few words, he would never be able to find work at a hospital ever again.

Trembling, the doctor finally told the truth.

"Miss Haywood ordered me to do it. I won't make the same mistake again. Please... please give me one more chance..."

"Get out!" Mason roared.

A bodyguard immediately dragged the doctor out.

Mason turned his head and studied Kylie's pale face. His eyes were full of disappointment. "You did this," he muttered coldly.

Kylie panicked and, in a quivering voice, said, "Mason, I did not mean it. It was only because Allora did not like it when you were nice to me, so I... I was angry and I wanted to teach her a lesson."

"Enough!" Mason did not want to hear it. "You wanted to teach her a lesson by making her give up a kidney? Kylie, I have been too lenient with you!"

Sensing that her situation was getting worse, Kylie began to cry.

"Mason, I was wrong! I was just so scared. After Jorge died, I had no one to rely on, and I was ill. I was afraid you'd leave me alone after you got married. Can you forgive me?"

At the sight of Kylie crying, Mason went soft.

"I promised Jorge that I would take care of you, and I would keep my word."

Kylie breathed a sigh of relief, and Mason continued, "But Allora is legally my wife. Do not play tricks on her anymore. I hope this will be the last of it."

Kylie was stunned.

"Mason, how can a poor country girl like Allora possibly deserve to be your wife? Hasn't she embarrassed you enough these past three years? Do you want to spend the rest of your life with her? Besides, she's so greedy, and she even wants to divorce you..."

"I do not want to hear about my marriage from you."

Mason's forbidding expression scared Kylie so much that she did not dare say anything more.

"Now, you just need to rest and think about what you have done."

Mason left the ward with an air of indifference, but he could not help secretly feeling annoyed about Allora's attitude earlier.

Mason's heart sank as Allora's words echoed in his mind. The thought of divorce had never crossed his mind, and he found himself grappling with a mixture of surprise and regret.

He had married Allora for all the wrong reasons, driven by a selfish need for convenience and control. His heart weighed heavily with the truth he had long denied – he had never truly loved her.

Guilt gnawed at Mason's conscience as he reflected on the three years of their marriage. Allora had been nothing but kind and compliant, willing to sacrifice her own dreams and desires to please him. He had taken advantage of her vulnerability, believing that her lack of resources and support would make her an easy pawn in his grand scheme.

As he looked back on their time together, he saw the moments when Allora's eyes sparkled with hope, her dreams just beyond her grasp. He had extinguished that light, suppressing her aspirations to mold her into the submissive wife he wanted.

The truth was, Allora's love had been genuine and selfless, while his had been hollow and selfish.

He assumed it was acceptable to maintain this sort of marriage.

If Kylie was the reason Allora wanted to divorce, he would explain the situation clearly to Allora and compensate her later.

Waving over his subordinate, Mason demanded, "Bring me my wife back, and do not let anything happen to her. Also, transfer five million to her account."

The subordinate appeared conflicted.

Mason frowned. "What's wrong?"

The subordinate looked uneasy. "After Mrs. Bryant left the hospital, she was picked up by a man in a luxury car."

"What did you say?"

Mason clenched his fists. He suddenly had a feeling that things were about to get out of his control.

In a low voice, Mason said, "Find her and the man. Then bring her back!"

Allora was frozen in place even when Elijah lay unconscious on the floor. Pain, anger, frustration and every emotion rushed through her. She did not know what would happen to her or how she would deal with the consequences of going through so much, but she could not care less. She was tired of being the damsel, with people breaking her trust. At that moment, something snapped inside her. She was so overwhelmed that she did not ice the absence of her baby kicking inside her and a gurgling ache running down her spine. She did not even not ice Daniel approaching and untying her hands. She did not hear him speaking to her quickly. All she could feel was a sudden wave of pain shooting through her back and abdomen.A heart-rending scream ripped from her mouth as her body gave in, resisting the waves of pain through her body. One, he was already injured, and two, he wanted to drain Elijah of his energy and deplete him before striking him with his blow. He quickly took two steps back creating a safe distance between them that only pissed off the latter. The normally calm Elijah was overshadowed by jealousy seeing something in Allora's eyes for Mason that he was desperately trying for himself, love and concern. He threw two consecutive punches, which Mason easily dodged, before Elijah turned to land a hook to his throat, only for him to duck in time."You can not force love on people, Elijah. Even if I was not there, you still wouldn't be able to win her heart," Mason muttered, earning a snarl from Elijah. The angrier he gets, the more he uses up his energy. Exhausting him and then attacking him was his strategy. With everything that had happened so far, he realized that Elijah was a calculating and controlled person, and now, his rage was blinding his senses."Even if I die, she will still be called Mrs. M
