Evelyn's POV.

He looked handsome and I watched in silence as he walked away, the flowers in hand.

Reality hit me, they were not for me. But then who was it for?

My heart shattered into a million pieces as the realization hit me like a ton of bricks - it was all for his crush.

I closed my eyes, letting the truth sink in, and couldn't help but wonder why I hadn't seen this coming.

Why was I so blind to think it was all about me? The more I thought about it, the more my face burned with embarrassment. I hit my forehead, berating myself for being so foolish.

How could I have forgotten that I wasn't that important to him? I thought I was special, but it turns out I was just a sideshow.
