I got home that night, grinning playfully like a kid.
Dante, as he said his name was, promised me to take me out of that shell and tell the world that I am his mate. But I have a little problem. Will he actually tell the world his mate is a weak omega? What if he is a high rank in the council or in the pack? What if his parentsdon't accept me as his mate? What, then?
"Hey, what are you thinking about?"
Standing in front of me was my sister. She stood not too far away from me, glaring at me with her arms folded.
I quickly shook my head.
She still stared at me suspiciously, "You were lost in thought."
"It's actually nothing, Veronica. I was just thinking of the stream." I knew better to come up with a lame lie, and I think she bought it.
She snickered, unfolded her arms, before muttering, "Pathetic."
She walked into the house, and I followed her behind.
"Veronica, you should get ready soon." Mom said, walking down the stairs slowly.
For what?
"Yes mom." Veronica laughed, running up the stairs happily.
"And you?" I quickly dropped the basket I was holding. "I want you to wear a very nice dress. The Alpha is back to the pack, I don't want you embarrassing us with those rags on your body."
But you made me wear them. I wanted to say, but I nodded instead.
Veronica's fiance's back? The great Alpha I heard takes over more than two packs in different countries. I heard he is a mysterious man who doesn't like to show himself as much as other Alpha does. I have heard so many rumours that he has so many connections with prestigious elites all over the world.
How lucky is my sister.
She would become the Luna of the most powerful Alpha in the world.
Well, I think I am also lucky. Though I won't get married to an Alpha, but instead, I will get mated to my one true mate, Dante. And he is not just somebody. He is handsome, kind, and romantic. I think I am the luckiest girl in the world instead.
"What are you doing standing there?!" Mom barked at me, and quickly, I ran to the place I do settle, the basement.
I quickly wore another pear of Jean and a top, styled my hair in a ponytail, and pushed my feet into a pair of slippers before running out to meet them.
Mom and sister were already heading out of the house, and quickly, I picked up their bags and luggage, walking out to meet them.
They both got into the car and left without me— well, a normal thing they do, leave me to deal with my transportation. They wouldn't like it when an Omega would be in the same car with them, a proud and prestigious family.
"Hey cab!!"
I hailed a cab, "The pack mansion, please."
"That would be four dollars." The cab driver said while igniting the engine. I guess he is saying that knowing that I am an Omega. He must have caught my scent and purposely increased the fees.
"Sure."
He didn't say anything after that. Instead, took me to the pack house.
Getting out of the cab, I stared at the magnificent view in front of me. The gate stood huge in front of me, a few soldiers standing out, their eyes on me.
They must be wondering where I am from and what I might be doing here.
Good thing I had my ID.
"Hello, sirs."
"Have you lost your way? The mansion isn't where anybody can just visit."
"I am with the family of the Gilberts."
I took the ID in my pocket, showing it to them.
One of them collected it from me and nodded at his other colleague.
I was allowed in, even with their intense stares on me. They still looked doubtful, doubting I was actually someone from the Gilberts.
The long stares didn't just stop at the guards. The people walking around the pack house wasn't left behind. They were all looking at me like I was a person who had just come out of the gutter. Their faces had an evident frown, and their eyes didn't disappoint me. They detest me.
"Ow!" I accidentally hit someone by the arm, "Sorry." I quickly apologized, but before I could leave, my wrist was being grabbed by the person. "Let go."
"I can't feel your wolf."
I took a closer look at the person in front of me. His green orbs glittered at me. it was a hunk standing in front of me, not too much of a hunk like my mate, but he was just like some other werewolves, but he, oozing a strong vibration of power.
Who is he?
I managed to get my hand off his, bowed at him before fleeing in.
"She is without a wolf, but why does she reeks of power?" I could hear his voice from a distance.
Power?
What the hell is he saying? I am powerless, and not even a little bit of muscle lives in me.
I stood in the middle of an empty hall, wondering where my parents were. Somewhere up there? In font of me was golden stairs.
Fuck! I have never come here before to know where the in-laws of the Alpha might be.
I decided to take the stairs, which I am sure would lead to nowhere.
"Alpha, I have missed you so much." Guess I never missed my way. "You had so many duties. I was worried you are gonna leave and not come back sooner."
I heard Veronica's voice down the hallway. She is somewhere in these so many rooms.
He is with the Alpha, that's nice. Turning around to leave, I caught my mate's scent.
He is also somewhere in this rooms.
Does he work here?
I quickly arranged my hair and had on my perfect smile as I walked down the hallway. I don't know what his reaction would be when he sees me.
"He might be shocked, or perhaps surprised? He might also hug me."
But what if Alpha finds out a wolfless Omega is with one of his workers. He might suspend him.
No.
I took a halt.
"But you have missed him, Ria."
Common, let's do it.
"I will be going back after the engagement."
"Please don't leave me, Alpha."
I could see her arms wrapped around a man, her head on his chest.
"Dante??"
RIAI got home before my children could. Edgar stayed back at the salon since he had a few more customers to attend to. My mind drifted to Dante. He must be in his apartment. My mind was on a swirl, I couldn't wait to meet him. 'Did you come back home for your children, or because you cannot wait to meet our mate?' My conscience is saying rubbish again. Of course I came home to prepare meals for my children. They could come back any minute or an hour... from now. I looked at the clock from the living room. They will be here in an hour and a half. And preparing their meal is just a few, close to twenty minutes...I guess. I guess my conscience was right, I came home early just because I wanted to meet Dante. I am beginning to miss him already. 'Dante?' I opened the link which connects to both of our minds. I wanted to speak to him badly. He didn't reply. "Dante?" I called again, but he still didn't reply. I guess he was busy. .After several minutes of preparing a few sliced f
RIAI wasn't able to concentrate on my work after Emily had left the salon. I couldn't stop thinking about what she told me about my parents. Are they really alive or dead? That question troubled my mind so much. And me being a hybrid, that topic sounded lame and I don't think I am liking it too. Does that explain the voice speaking in my head when I am not even thinking about it or that voice like spirit talking to me as if it was right beside me? The voice I kept thinking it could be my conscience?"Ria? Ria?" Someone tapped me from behind. I snapped out of those disturbing thoughts, and looked at the hair I was working on. The customer was staring at me in question. I guess she was wondering why I suddenly stopped with her hair, and Benny, she was also wondering what was happening to me. I guess I completely zoned out. "Ria, are you okay? You zoned out for a while, and even stopped with the customer's hair. That is so unusual of you." "I... I am so sorry." I quickly apologize
"Yes, I know your teeth was itchy. You wanted to bite into something and make sure they feel your wrath because you are also as angry as I was." Angry?"You must have also bitten someone to cease you urge to bite." Yeah, I bit Dante. But it was just a normal bite. I only assumed then that it was my jaw aching, so I had no choice but to bite on his neck. Which he assumed to be a stupid mark. "I know you know what I meant my dear." "I know what you meant, but I am still not a chosen or a hybrid. It look like you made it up." She shook her head. "I didn't, my dear. I know you are the chosen. Infact, I can feel from miles away that you are the chosen, the one who can end this dispute." Okay, this is getting crazy. I am already having a headache. "You have two spirits inside of you. One is a werewolf who speaks with you from your heart, and the other one is a witch, she works with your brain. And I am very sure she hates the werewolves as much as us witches hate them." I stood up,
"You are Ria." The old woman guessed my name correctly, but I wonder who she was. I have never seen her before. She was not too old to be actually called an old woman. She should be in her sixties. Her blonde hair was already having soke gray strands. Her face has little makeup, and judging from her dress and look like a normal American citizen here to take a cut. "Yes I am Ria, ma'am." I replied. "Yes. Can I see you, my child?" See her? I looked at Edgar and his cousin who were confused as to why she was asking me to see her when I don't even know her at all. "Okay?" "Ma'am, please she has work to do. Can you come over later?" That was Benny."No my dear. I have to see her now, it is very important." "But ma'am," Benny chose to argue with her, but I stoped her. "Ah, Benny. A few minutes with her wouldn't hurt. I will be back in a few minutes." "Yes, I won't take much of your time. Just a few talks, and you will be back to work." "Okay." Benny finally agreed."Okay, common
"I cannot do that to the Alpha." She instantly disagreed. What?! How dare she? What does she mean by she cannot do that? Is she indirectly calling me an evil person? A person who doesn't deserve to be with the Alpha? "You won't learn your lesson, will you?" I moved closer to the furnace to see the fire in front of me. "I guess those dark burns on the body of your child aren't enough yet. Don't worry my dear, I will make sure to convince that woman to make sure she cuts off your child's tongue this time, I will make sure she doesn't speak for the rest of her miserable life or perhaps..." I turned to her, "her heart. She will never again exist in this world." She screeched, fought with the shackles holding her down. She tried to reach me. "Ah, you are making so much noise. Your noise is going to kill your baby if I don't." "You are going to pay for all this, I swear! You won't get away with any of this!" "Oh! Look at me. I am already getting away with it." I walked out through the
SEAN I went into the Dome to see the Vladex. I am tired of staying around without doing anything, or not even chasing Ria. How will I become the second-in-commad if I do not do anything around here other than lazing around and messing with blood slaves?"You have stolen a lot of hearts, Vladex, I think it's time to go for the main target." That is definitely one of Vladex's best friends. I know that voice somewhere. He was right there, beside Vladex when my corpse was taken and fixed to become one of vampires'. "The Alpha has her." The Alpha? Is he talking about Ria? "What are you doing?" I gasped when I heard that voice. One of the Vladex soldiers stood behind me with a questionable gaze. "I wanted to see the Vladex." "Then why are you still standing there? Go in if you want to see the leader. You look like a thief standing out here with your head stuck behind the door." I knocked on the door, watched as the soldier stood at his post, his head rising high in attention. This
