VIOLETA

I tried my best not to meet with his gaze that kept lingering on me, but it was so hard and it didn't make things better that Princess Thania kept looking at me with a grin on her face. I wish she could understand that I wasn't exactly comfortable with it.

The maids started dishing our meal. I wanted to help but I knew that it would only cause more harm than good. Princess Thania would not be happy about that.

“Dig in everyone,” Princess Thania said.

I was halfway through my meal when the door opened revealing someone I had never seen before, but he had a striking resemblance with princess Thania.

“Good morning, everyone,” he greeted, a charming smile on his face. His eyes met with mine and for a second, I couldn't look away from him.

“You're late,” Princess Thania's voice snapped me out of my trance.

He chuckled softly. “Is that anyway to greet your brother?” He teased, but she only rolled her eyes at him.

Brother? I didn't know she had any siblings. No wonder, he bears a str

  • The scarred Luna    CHAPTER FIFTEEN

VIOLETA“I totally think Alpha Nathan is into you,” Princess Thania said, almost startling the shit out of me.I glared at her to let her know that she's spewing nonsense, but the next thing she does shocks me. She burst into a fit of laughter. She only had two shots, but I think she's drunk.“Alpha Nathan can't be into me,” I said, trying not to entertain any thoughts that were going to and fro in my mind. She got up from my bed and stared at me intensely. “And why would you think that? You're very beautiful. What's there not to like?” She scoffed and lay back down on the ground.I knew she was probably being honest, but it reminded me of the times I was hideous and no one wanted to be with me. It was no secret that my beauty is one of the traits people loved about me; that's probably why my stepsister tried to ruin it.“Violeta!” She yelled at the top of her lungs.I had to cover her mouth so she wouldn't wake others. The pack mansion was so quiet, and I was sure that everyone had a

  • The scarred Luna    CHAPTER FOURTEEN

VIOLETA Everyone's eyes were on me, and I was trying to hide my nervousness. Alpha Ragnar had just introduced me as his savior, and like that wasn't enough, he gave me the official title of the pack healer.Everything is so good. It's like things are starting to fall into place for me, and I'm even afraid to close my eyes, afraid that it might just end up being a dream.I sat down at my table next to Joshua and Jasmine, watching Princess Thania say her speech—she looks so ethereal. She was talking about her father but kept bringinppg me up every five minutes.I saw a few people sparing glances at me. I wasn't used to this kind of attention. I appreciate their kind attitudes towards me, but it didn't have to come with so much attention. It even got to a point that Princess Thania had to tell everyone to get up and applaud me for doing a job well done. I was grateful that she was being so appreciative, but this was going too far.Once I was certain that the attention wasn't solely on m

VIOLETAThe palace was crowded and filled with so many guests from different parts of the world. They were celebrating Alpha Ragnar's recovery and throwing a big feast. I decided to help; the last thing I wanted was to be a burden and lazy around all day.“Violeta,” Princess Thania called. “You've been helping with the decorations all day. Don't you think it's better to take a rest?”I thought about what she said, but I wasn't going to just sit around. “But, I have to help out. I don't want to be seen as lazy,” I told her.She rolled her eyes at me. “You're not lazy, Violeta. You're a guest in this house, and you deserve to rest; stop going round the house. Come with me; I want you to meet some people.”She giggled and dragged me to a private corner. The party was yet to start, but I didn't realize that there were people in the house. I didn't think much of it anyways. She led me to a private room where there were some groups of guys and girls seated alongside Joshua andd Jasmine—at l

VIOLETAI stared at the mirror, frozen. My hand slowly touched my cheek again, just to be sure it wasn’t a dream or some trick of the light. But no—it was real. The scar that had ruined my face for months... was gone.Gone.I couldn’t breathe. My lips parted slightly, but no words came out. My reflection looked like someone I hadn't seen in a long time—me. The real me. The one before the fire. The one before the pain, the fear, the hiding. The one I thought was lost forever.A small sob slipped from my throat, and then another. Before I knew it, I was crying. Not the quiet, pretty kind of crying, but the messy, shaky one that made your chest hurt. I covered my mouth with both hands, the tears pouring down my cheeks, mixing with the dampness of the towel I still held.I didn’t even know why I was crying so hard. Was it happiness? Relief? Shock? Maybe all of it. Maybe it was the weight I had been carrying for so long finally falling off my shoulders.I sank to the floor, hugging my knee

VIOLETA“Try it out, Thania. You don't know what it could turn out to be?” Jasmine— Princess Thania's cousin said.I thought about what she said. She wasn't wrong though, trying it out wasn't a bad thing, it would be a miracle if I could heal my face and the thought of it almost makes me think it's impossible.“I don't know,” I sighed. “What if it doesn't work? I'm still not perfect and new to all this healer stuff. What if I mess up and it leads to a lot of tragedy.”I was scared. My face was already scarred enough, I didn't need to make it worse, maybe it was better like this. People already hated me enough for looking like this. What if I made it worse and there was no way to fix it.Princess Thania scoffed, snapping me out of my thoughts. “I felt the same way when you told me you had something that could help my father. I didn't want to give you a trial which I would've been regretting. But I trusted you and the outcome yielded to be fruitful. You just need to believe in yourself,
