Her dress perfectly tailored to her slender figure. A woman who belonged to his world.

“Mother, I’d like you to meet Eloise,” Nigel said, turning to face her. “She’s my fiancée.” Eloise bowed slightly, a charming smile on her lips. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Mrs. Harris. Nigel has told me so much about you.” Mrs. Harris offered a polite smile, but Ryse noticed the fleeting glint in the lady of the house’s eyes. An unreadable glint, perhaps even a hint of disappointment.

But none of that concerned Ryse. She was merely an observer of this scene, which had nothing to do with her.

Yet, when Nigel raised his head, his gaze swept the room and met hers. A suspended moment.

Ryse felt her heart skip a beat. Not because of any romantic infatuation—no, it wasn't that. But that look… That look that fixed on her as if she were a stranger.

As if she had never existed.

Nigel didn't react. No recognition in his eyes.

Just polite indifference.

Ryse felt a shiver run down her spine. Ten years had passed, and nothing remained of the boy who used to hold her when she cried.

She was now just another shadow in the house where she had grown up.

And tonight, more than ever, she knew it.

The silence between them lasted a fraction of a second, but it seemed to stretch on forever. Ryse wasn't one to expect anything from Nigel, not after all these years. Yet, she found herself taking a step forward, then another, until she was standing right in front of him. He was even more imposing up close, his presence overwhelming, almost intimidating. She swallowed slightly, then, in a gesture as natural as it was awkward, she extended her hand.

"Welcome back, Nigel." His voice was calm, composed, with no trace of apparent emotion. After all, she was just a maid here, nothing more. But in her memories, he had been so much more. Perhaps, deep down, a small part of her hoped to see a flicker of recognition, a glimmer in his eyes that would prove to her that those shared years hadn't been completely erased.

But there was nothing. Nigel looked down at her outstretched hand, scrutinizing it as if it were a foreign object. A heavy silence fell.

Then he simply looked away.

He didn't greet her. He didn't take her hand. He didn't even say a word.

The air around them seemed to freeze. Mrs. Harris watched the scene without a word, her lips slightly pursed, while Eloise glanced curiously at Ryse, as if trying to understand who she was to dare speak to Nigel like that.

A knot formed in Ryse's stomach. She felt her fingers tighten slightly before closing in on themselves.

But before she could pull away or say anything, Nigel abruptly brought a hand to her throat.

Her expression changed instantly. His face contorted with sudden pain, and a violent shudder ran through his entire body. He took a step back, then another, his ragged breath echoing in the room. A wave of nausea washed over him, as if an unbearable stench had assaulted him. His features twisted into a grimace of pure revulsion, and the next moment, he whirled on his heels and bolted for the front door.

"Nigel!" cried Eloise, her voice thick with worry.

"My son, what is it?!" exclaimed Mrs. Harris, rushing after him. Ryse froze, her heart pounding in her chest.

She had just witnessed something she didn't understand. Had Nigel just… rejected her with such force that her own body had reacted?

No… it couldn’t be.

And yet, the image was there, etched beneath her eyelids.

That horrified look, that retching, that hasty flight as if his presence were unbearable.

Ryse felt a strange heat rising to her face. Not shame. Not anger. Just… profound incomprehension.

The raised voices of Mrs. Harris and Eloise were already fading outside as they chased Nigel, their hurried footsteps echoing on the cobblestones.

Ryse, however, stayed back.

The chill that seeped into her had nothing to do with the ambient temperature.

Something had just broken.

And she didn’t yet know how much it would change her life. The evening air was cooler outside, but it didn't seem to calm the violent nausea that was gripping Nigel. He had barely stepped away from the house when he collapsed against one of the porch pillars, gasping for breath, his hand clutching his throat as if he were trying to expel some invisible poison. A violent coughing fit shook him before his stomach churned completely. In an uncontrollable spasm, he leaned forward and vomited.

Behind him, hurried footsteps echoed on the cobblestones.

“Nigel!” Eloise cried, running to his side.

Mrs. Harris arrived right after her, her face etched with worry. “My son, what’s wrong?!” But Nigel couldn’t answer. His body betrayed him, rejecting him with an intensity he didn’t understand. He gritted his teeth, trying to regain control, but the smell… that unbearable smell still seemed to linger in the air, clinging to him like a curse.

Eloise placed a hand on his back, stroking him gently to soothe him. But when she spoke, her voice trembled with frustration.

“He can’t stand the smell of pheromones…” She paused before turning a furious glance at Mrs. Harris. “That girl did it on purpose!” "She deliberately released her pheromones to provoke him!" Mrs. Harris froze. "What are you talking about, Eloise?" Eloise gritted her teeth, her gaze burning with barely concealed jealousy. "Ryse. She knows perfectly well what she is. And she knows what she's doing. She waited until he was here to spread her scent and make him sick. She wants to manipulate him!" Nigel, still on his knees, raised his head slightly at these words. His eyes, clouded by pain and confusion, took on a cold gleam. "Manipulation. Was it possible?" "No... Impossible. Ryse was just a maid, an insignificant omega. But then why... why was his body reacting like this?" He tried to sit up, one hand on his forehead, his breath still ragged. Eloise took the opportunity to tighten her grip on him, her presence gentle yet oppressive.

"I warned you, Nigel… Omegas can be dangerous if they know how to use their pheromones. It's their only weapon."

She turned toward the window, watching the sunbeams filter through the curtains. There was something calm, almost serene, about the soft light that bathed the room. But within her, nothing was serene. There was no calm, no peace. There was only uncertainty, frustration, and above all, a profound sadness. She wasn't preparing for a happy moment, a family moment. No, she was preparing for yet another ordeal. An ordeal with this man who, deep down, was perhaps never truly there for her. And that thought stabbed her like a cold blade. The next morning arrived faster than she had imagined. At the appointed time, she dressed hurriedly, trying to conceal her emotions behind a mask of calm. The morning sun bathed the courtyard in soft light, a stark contrast to the invisible tensions hanging in the air. The black car pulled up in front of the house. Ryse, who had been sitting in the living room since dawn, could already feel her heart racing. She knew this day was important: the three-month u

Nigel froze, surprised, and stepped back slightly, a look of confusion creeping across his face. He wasn't used to her reacting like this. She was always affectionate, always ready to support him, even after their arguments. But now, something was different. The air between them was becoming colder, more tense."Eloise... what's wrong?" he asked, his voice betraying the beginnings of anxiety. "Why are you acting like this?"Eloise stood up slowly, crossing her arms over her chest in a defensive gesture. She looked him up and down, her eyes shining with frustration."You don't understand, do you? I know what you're doing, Nigel. I know how you feel about her, that... omega. You haven't stopped avoiding me since you brought her into this house." And don't tell me it's not true, that you're not attracted to her, because I can see perfectly well how you're acting.Nigel's heart raced at these words. Eloise knew. She knew everything. He had thought he could hide his emotions, keep it all t

“It’s easy for you, isn’t it? To control everything? To decide what’s right and what’s wrong? But do you really think I’m going to just sit here and shut up and accept everything you tell me? The truth is, you’re manipulating me just like you manipulate everyone else. And I’m not going to be your plaything, Nigel,” she said, her voice growing increasingly firm.He straightened slowly, and for a moment, he seemed to hesitate. But his anger quickly took over, and he moved even closer to her, almost facing her like a predator.“Don’t talk like that. You don’t know anything about me, Ryse. Not a thing. And I don’t have to justify myself to you,” he added, lowering his eyes, his voice becoming harsher. The words he spoke were sharp, like well-honed knives. Ryse felt a sharp pain, but she pushed it away. She knew all he wanted was to dominate her, humiliate her, make her feel inferior. But she wouldn't let him."You don't have to speak to me like that, Nigel. And I'm not going to stand here

The housekeeper, ever so devoted, looked up from her work when he entered. She seemed to have been expecting his return.“Mr. Harris, are you all right?” she asked, her gaze scrutinizing his tense features, as if she could sense his state of mind.He nodded, though his expression was far from convincing. He had no desire to talk about what had just happened. No desire to share his discomfort with anyone else. He wasn’t even sure he could look at himself in a mirror at that moment.“Yes, everything’s fine,” he replied in an almost monotone voice, before sitting down on one of the gray velvet sofas. He exhaled deeply, trying to collect his thoughts. This was no time to let guilt or confusion overwhelm him. He was a man of action. An alpha, a leader. He had made his decisions, and whatever happened, he had to face the consequences. And Ryse… She would eventually accept her place. It was only a matter of time. He had resigned himself to it. He had never chosen this situation, but he had t

A wave of vaginal fluid gushed from Ryse's vagina, spreading across Nigel's satisfied face as he reaped his reward. When he finished, he sat up, towering over her. He watched her, awestruck by the sheer pleasure he alone was responsible for. Ryse saw pride and satisfaction in his eyes. Silently, she ran her limp hand over his chest, slowly tracing his abs before stopping at the hem of his black boxer shorts, where she could easily admire a huge bulge hardened by desire and arousal.A few moments later, he moved away from her, got out of bed, and pulled off his underwear. His erect penis sprang free. Propped up on her elbows, she gazed at him hungryly, running her impatient tongue over her lower lip."What do you want now?" “I want you. Nigel. Only you,” she said, her eyes clouded with desire. With his large, strong hands, he then brought his pelvis closer to his erect penis, which he held firmly in his hand. Gently, he began to insert it into her opening, but her breath caught in her

She placed the camera back on the table and got up to go into her garden. She wanted to enjoy this little corner of paradise, even though, deep down, she knew it was just a gilded cage. The sun was slowly setting, painting the sky a golden hue, as Nigel finally arrived home. The morning air had given way to a heavy heat, but it was the coolness of the garden, seemingly cut off from the rest of the world, that welcomed Ryse, sitting quietly on the bench under the cherry tree. Her eyes were closed, absorbed by the sweet fragrance of the blossoms that filled the air, but it only took her a moment to sense the car approaching. The driver parked near the entrance, and Nigel got out without a word, observing the garden, his eyes briefly resting on Ryse before looking away. He had never really liked this place, but he was forced to admit that the transformation was almost perfect. The garden seemed to offer Ryse a freedom she would never have had in the main house. He wasn't free, but he did
