"I wanted to tell you about so many things," she looked at him in the eyes, "my pregnancy and..." She trailed. It wasn't as easy as she thought to spill over the fact that she was an explanation of adultery. "and how we could make us work, plans for the baby, and stuff like that."

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I didn't give you a listening ear and I promise to do so henceforth, I swear, Lou." He overflowed sincerity.

She said nothing but looked away. A cool gust of evening wind blew past her, inducing strands of red hair to slide across her face and a slight shudder.

"Let me take you home," Mason noticed. Louisa didn't negate. On their way to the car, he plucked off his suit jacket and warmed her up with it instantly feeling envious for the fabric.

"Thank you."

Their smooth journey came to an end when Mason walked her in front of her door where she thanked him again and reminded him that he didn't have to bother seeing her through thus far.
