69. Emilia's confused about everything

Emilia's POV

We were hired to deliver our food at a restaurant for five executive days. I would have declined the work but I chose to take it because I wanted to be far away from Lucas at the moment.

I knew that I had sworn to get rid of him in seven days but I couldn't just get myself to do it and that was still something I couldn't explain.

When I came back, everything was so unusual about the house. It was unkept, the doors were widely opened and it felt like the house had been abandoned for decades. I waited for Lucas to get back the whole night but he didn't show up.

I started to panic for his sake, even though I knew that I was supposed to be happy. I paced around the room, thinking of a way to get through to him.

A thought crossed my mind, to go and check at his work place but I later decided against that because it was already too late. There was no way he could still be at his work place by such a time.

While waiting up for him, I fell asleep on the couch.
