Blood Thirsty Luna

“So… what do we think?” Giving my friends a little twirl, showing off my new hair. I’ve always had dark brown hair, but today I decided to change it up. 

“Holy shit! That looks amazing!” Nora, my bestfriend and hopefully sister-in-law one day ran up to me. She towered over me with her skinny long legs and perky boobs. 

“That purple looks good!” Chase, my boyfriend and future alpha, was the sexiest man I knew. Unfortunatly, the entire pack thought so as well. Standing at 6’4”, his dirty blonde hair matched Nora’s alost identically. The only difference was Nora’s almost went to her waist. 

Chase slipped one hand under my neck, pulling on my hair. The other wrapped around my waist as he pulled me tightly against him. “I take it you like it?” I asked, wiggingly my eyes at him. 

“Um… gross!” Nora made a gagging sound behind us. 

“Agreed, dude.” Aaron was another one of our best friends. He was the beta’s son and Chase’s beta someday. His brown hair hung over his chocolate eyes, but it was the dimples that really made the girls get excited. At 6’ 3”, he was solid muscle, broad and completely free of tattoos. Unlike Chase, who was peppered in them from head to his toes. 

“You guys need to leave. We have to get ready.” Nora shrugged Aaron’s arm off her and shoved him towards the door. 

Chase sighed and let me go. “Just a stupid fucking party.” His mood instantly turned sour. Although his dad, Dylan, was the alpha, his mother was previously with another man. He was the alpha in another pack. However, she had a son before she met Dylan. Luca was somewhat of a black sheep to his family. His birth-right was to his dad’s pack where he would be Alpha. Since Chase was the only son of Alpha Dylan, he got this pack. 

“Play nice. This is important to our mother.” Nora gave Chase a look. 

We all knew why Chase didn’t like Luca. Well, I heard the rumors. Luca was a few years older and apparently was everything Chase was not. I think it was more of a dick measuring thing, but I never did get the whole story. 

“Whatever.” Chase walked out, slamming the door behind him. 

“Be lucky you only joined our pack a few years ago.” Nora gave me a look before walking to the bathroom. 

“Come on. Tell me what happened.” I begged for the hundreth time. Following her into the bathroom, she sighed at me. 

“I promised Chase I wouldn’t. You are the only person who wasn’t around to see him like that. He loves you because you don’t judge him on his past. Everyone will still hold it over his head.” 

Nora got naked and got into the shower. “What would you possibly say that will make me stop loving him? We have been dating for three years now.” 

“Fine, I’ll tell you, but you can’t tell anyone else or that I even told you.” Nora popped her head out of the shower and glared at me. 

Holding my hand over my heart, I stood up straight. “I promise.” 

Nora rolled her eyes, but couldn’t help the smirk on her face. “Growing up, everyone knew Luca wasn’t dad’s son. Dad favored Chase, sure, but he still trained Luca. We didn’t know who Luca’s dad even was. It wasn’t until Alpha Hunter came knocking that we finally found out. He wanted his son that he just learned he had. Luca did everything to make Chase’s life hell. Well, in Chase’s eyes, anyway. Stole girls he liked, constantly beat him at everything, but the final straw came one night. It had gotten to the point that Luca made Chase feel like a failure. However, Chase, myself, Aaron, and a girl named Betty were out swimming. We were only like 14 years old. Luca was 18. Him and his buddies came out to the pond. Betty jumped on Luca and Chase saw red. One thing led to another and Betty drowned. The next day, Luca moved in with his dad.”

“Damn.” I whispered. 

“That was four years ago. Chase is now 18 and has been dating you for three years. I think he is worried that you will throw yourself at Luca, too. You don’t turn 18 until tomorrow. I think Chase will relax when tomorrow comes and you guys are mates. However, tonight, I would suggest maybe staying away from Luca.” Nora turned the shower off. 

“He sounds like an asshole.” It was my turn to shower. 

“I mean, he was back then. To me, he was always sweet and loving big brother.” Nora shrugged. “Either way, they haven’t talked since that night. Tonight is going to be interesting.” 

“Who is all coming?” Tonight was a massive party Alpha Dylan puts on every year. The Full Moon Festival was to mark the end of the summer and the change of seasons. Personally, I think it was just an excuse for everyone together and drink. However, there would be an extra hundred people around. 

“The usual crowd. Since Luca decided to come this year, he is bringing his beta and maybe a warrior or two. I’m not sure why he is coming, though. He has avoided this place for four years. Why now?” 

By the time I was done, Nora was already working on her makeup. Since I wasn’t going to be wearing anything under my dress, I just kept my towel around me and stood next to her as I applied mine as well.

“That purple is really a good look on you. Matches your personality perfectly.” Nora looked at me and smiled. 

“Well, if life hasn’t tought me a think or two about being edgy…”
