Xian’s POV After work, I headed home to my condo, hoping that, for once, everything would be peaceful. Instead, I arrived to find that yet another incident involving Elaine had occurred. I’m becoming increasingly uneasy and skeptical as to why something seems to happen to her every single day. I found Maxine waiting outside the condo. She told me that Elaine was inside cooking, and although she had just been in an accident, she wasn’t hurt, save for a few scratches on her hands. I decided not to go inside yet. Instead, I spoke with Maxine about what happened, especially since she is Elaine’s bodyguard and it is her mission to watch over her. "My apologies, Sir Xian, for my negligence," Maxine said, bowing her head. "I was too complacent, and I didn’t expect that she would jump in to save the child." "Let it go for now. Come with me," I said coldly. We went to the condominium’s security office and asked to view the CCTV footage of the accident where Elaine was hit by the car.
