Chapter Thirty Three

Naevia never expected such a question to come out of Zane's mouth. It left her bewildered that she wondered if Zane woke up at the wrong side of the bed.

"No, there's no need. I'm fine now. Let's proceed with the shooting," Naevia inferred.

She wanted to leave Zane's side and resume with the target practice. But she's stopped by Zane, who takes hold of her right hand gently.

"I'm serious Naevia. Tell me what happened. It felt like you saw something from your past that triggered your emotions. Do tell me, I'll listen," Zane persuaded Naevia.

Naevia didn't know if she should share it with Zane. But with the way he calmly requested to listen to her, it made Naevia feel happy.

"Okay then," she agreed. Lowering her pistol down and facing Zane.

Zane, hearing Naevia's agreement to his plea, felt on top of the world. He had feared that Naevia would reject his appeal like the way she always does, but not this time.

Zane still held on to Naevia's hand, and led the way out of the target area. T
