I felt at a loss and relieved at the same time at the sudden loss of his warmth and the sparks.

I opened my eyes to see him nowhere in the room, just me lying naked, cuffed and flushed on the bed.

I slowly sat up, my heart wrecking under my rib cage.

The door opened again and he walked in, I quickly scrambled back to the headboard, curling into a ball.

He slowly stalked towards me, his eyes fixed on my cowering form.

"Put this on," He said, throwing some clothes on the bed before leaving the room again.

It was a dress, a girl's dress, Reilly growled at the thought of whose dress it was.

But that's none of my business, so I quickly threw it on, happy at finally having some coverage after so long,

The dress was white with frills and deep blue flower patterns, so pretty, much prettier than the grey uniform of the orphanage.

I wiped my tears off and sat there waiting in silence not knowing what would happen next.

The bindings were too tight for my liking, keeping me in place.

I waited and waited and waited for the whole day but Aiden didn't come back.

Is this how he wanted to torture me? By starving me?

Aiden didn't come back till the next day, holding a tray of food in his hand.

He placed the tray on the bed before disappearing into the bathroom.

My stomach growled at the mouth-watering scent of the food after starving the whole day but I didn't dare to touch it, fearing what he would do if he found me eating the food.

I hugged myself tightly, waiting for what he was to do.

Aiden returned in a grey t-shirt and black pants, looking so damn good in it.

He sat on the armchair next to the bed and lit a cigarette, taking a big whiff of it, his hard eyes trained on me.

"Eat" He ordered, I looked at him for confirmation but ducked when I saw his intense gaze on me, making me feel uncomfortable.

I didn't wait anymore.

I quickly stuffed my mouth with the delicious French toast and bacon, melting into my mouth, tasted much better than the oatmeal we were provided in the orphanage.

It tasted far better than what I thought it would be while watching the alpha family eating it.

"Slow down Mate, It's all yours," He said in a deep voice, My cheeks burned in embarrassment.

He took another whiff of the cigarette, releasing the smoke from his mouth.

My eyes and lungs burned at the smell, making me cough up, and choke on a bread piece.

I gulped down the water to soothe it, but the smoke was too strong.

"Cigarettes bother you?" He asked in a challenge.

I shook my head no, and finished my plate.

His eyes hardened, glaring daggers at me, he yanked the tray from my hands and left the room.

Leaving me alone for another whole day.

The same thing repeated for the next whole week.

He would come, feed me once a day, bring me a change of clothes and leave me all alone for the rest of the day in the cold.

By now, my back aches from sitting alone in the room, the restraints are too tight for my liking, digging into my skin and paining like hell.

Sigh, I hugged my knees closer.

I miss my orphanage, at least there, we weren't chained like animals like this, We were free to go anywhere inside the building, and I was able to talk with everyone there but here.

Even though the place is this huge, I couldn't even walk around this room or talk with someone.

A tear slipped down my eyes, a whimper left my lips at how lonely it was here when the door slammed open with a loud thud.

Three girls around my age peeked in and gasped when they saw me.

"Oh my god!" A girl with brown hair gasped, her eyes wide, and hands on her mouth in shock.

"I knew it! I knew he was doing something creepy, I told you! " A girl with dark hair just like Aiden's exclaimed, her legs jumping up and down.

"This isn't the time to brag about your knowledge of his Avery! Shut the fuck up!" A girl who looked exactly like the Avery girl snapped, her eyes looking at me in sympathy.

"What do we do now Ariel? If Aiden knows we found her, he will be pissed at us" The brown-haired girl shivered, looking at me horrified.

"His anger can be damned for all I care, This is unacceptable by any means" She hissed and stride towards me, I shrank back in fear.

"Hey, hey, it's alright, you are safe OK?" She cooed as if consoling a baby, She slowly stepped towards me while I struggled to get away.

"Quick, search for the key," Ariel said, The two girls nodded before hurrying around for the key, After searching all around.

"Here, I found it," Avery said, holding up the key from the cupboard.

Ariel opened my locks, freeing me from the restraints.

"You shouldn't do this, he will be mad at you," I said, rubbing my sore neck, my wrists were bleeding.

"You don't have to worry about him, you are his mate, right?" She asked, Stella brought a first-aid kit to the room.

I nod my head, remembering how much he hates me now.

"But, he hates me now," I said, wincing in pain as she dabbed the antiseptic cream on the wound.

"Why?" Avery questioned loudly.

"It doesn't matter now, Come on, let's take her to Mom and Dad," Stella said, wrapping a cloth around the wound.

They helped me off the bed, and Avery and Ariel both wrapped my hands around their neck and walked me out of the room and down the corridor Aiden brought me the other day.

They tugged me down the stairs to the floor below and down another corridor.

Stella opened the door and a man, a woman and two boys were sitting around the dining table came into view.

Everyone stopped their movement when they saw me, everyone's mouth went agape The woman and the man ran to me, and the boys looked stunned, dropping their spoons on their plates in shock.

"What's happening here?" The woman gasped, coming closer to me.

"Mom, this is Aiden's mate, he had her chained in his room," Avery said, The room went silent, as the mother placed both her hands on her mouth in shock.

"What? Why would he do that to his own mate?" The man asked, pulling out a chair for me to sit in, The mom brought me a glass of water to drink.

"Are you alright honey? Can you speak?" She asked patting my back softly, her face filled with concern.

I nod my head, feeling so light-headed being away from the room suddenly.

"I have to go back to the room, Aiden will be mad and punish me" I groaned, my head paining like hell.

"It's alright, don't worry about it, ok?" The mom said, her words filled with concern.

I frowned in indecision, unsure if I could trust her to protect me from Aiden.

My head span more, I felt nauseated and laid my head on the table.

"Here, take this," she said giving me a pill and some water.

"Take it slow ok? " Ariel said, rubbing my back.

Slowly, my head cleared up, and I sat up.

"Alright now?" The mother asked, I nodded in return.

The two boys, not more than 15 I think, peeked at me curiously.

"What is your name dear?" The mom asked.

"45...Rose," I said. And corrected quickly.

"Rose or 45?" One of the boys asked, annoyed.

"Ace!" Avery glared.

"Rose," I said.

"That's a nice very name dear," The mom said smiling at me.

"I'm Angela, I'm Aiden's mother and this is Andrew, his father" Angela introduced.

"I'm Avery, this is Ariel, Stella, and these two pieces of shit are our younger brothers Ace and Micky" Avery introduced, everyone smiled at me while Ace and Micky glared at their sister who stuck out her tongue in return.

"You all are Aiden's family?" I asked in shock that a man like him has a family this big, Aren't alphas usually living alone, they would throw their family out of the pack once they take the throne.

Angela nods her head, patting my head lovingly.

Her strange concern made me feel weird, like, I am a stranger to her, How could she care about me?

"Can I have her?" The boy named Micky asked, his mouth drooling.

"Micky! She is your brother's Mate!" Angela hissed, Andrew placed a knock on his head.

"Ouch, come on! Can't you all see he didn't want her? " He exclaimed, rubbing his head.

"At least can we have her after he rejects her?" Ace asked, looking at my chest weirdly making me squirm.

"For god sake, she is your sister-in-law, show some respect!" Andrew growled, The boys groaned going back to their seats.

"Are you hungry dear?" Angela asked.

"No ma'am," I said shaking my head.

"Oh, come on we are a family, just call me Angela," She said in a sweet tone.

"Yeah, just call us by our names, it would be weird to have you call us ma'am and sir", Andrew said.

"I wouldn't mind being called sir" Ace shouted from his place.

"She isn't going to call you at all shit" Ariel rolled her eyes.

I looked at their bickering in fascination, everything was weird here.

They both are disrespectful but neither seems to mind it, they are so cool about it Instead of fighting, they only know me for an hour but they were defending me from their own family, why?

Then this man and woman, looking at me so weirdly, their eyes are shiny and amused.

I watched everyone in confusion when the door slammed open, and a loud growl rang around the air, startling me in my seat.
