Chapter 25

Arthur tossed and turned on his comfortable bed, which now felt unbearable. His heart ached and his eyes burned. He sat up while his hands squeezed his hair. He was sad, besides guilt wouldn't let him sleep.

“I was very cruel to you, sweetie,” he wiped his tears and sighed.

He stood up and walked in a circle, he hugged himself from the icy sensation. It wasn't just the cold his skin suffered from being uncovered. -Since he had only put on baggy pants after his bath. Rather it was the lack of hugging and kissing her, of seeing her smile and talking about her patients animatedly.

He sat on the edge of the bed and looked at the roof, again the annoying tears were wetting his face. He should have talked to her and set the record straight, how dare he call her a delinquent?

'I'm stupid!' he thought as he dipped his fingers over his temples.
