*Soleil*I open the leather pouch and pour out the smooth tree slices with the carved runes. My eyes immediately go to the Thurs rune, Tjalfe’s rune, letting my finger trace over it. Gudrun had predicted a huge sacrifice was to be made to beat the dark one. Was Davina this sacrifice ? Marta had said the dark one could be a vǫlva turned dark, but then someone should have warned us. But they hadn’t warned us about Luca. Maybe Luca was also part of this sacrifice ?The last out-sitting had not told us anything. I hadn’t dared open my mind to reach for Luca, so we had given up and gone our separate ways. It was time to return to my so-called normal life and there were some loose ends that just wouldn’t let me ignore them.
