Chapter Eight
Mykel’s POV
When Lilith agreed to challenge Benjamin, I was thrilled beyond words. Once made challenges had to happen within twenty-four hours. There was no backing out as this would leave you looking weak. I knew without a doubt she had the strength she needed to beat him; however, I didn’t want to take any chances. So tonight, when the meeting is over, we would skip dinner and I’d go back over her training with her. After getting dressed, together Lilith and I made our way back to the meeting room. It was due to reconvene in five minutes, and next on the agenda were the treaties. Elijah was sat there already waiting a knowing look on his face as he winked and smirked at Lil and me. I had forgotten he had been outside my office, so he most likely left when he realised what we were doing.
As we took our seats Benjamin walked in with a teary looking Raven. Her hair hung over half of her face as she tried to hide something. Standing from my chair Lilith grabbed my hand, her eyes were hard as she watched me while silently telling me not to do anything. Shaking her hand off I stormed over to Raven pushing her hair aside. My blood began to boil as both anger and rage formed within me. My eyes immediately shot to Benjamin who stood there looking extremely proud of himself.
“You did this?” My tone was harsh as I asked him the question, I already knew the answer to.
“Like I told you before she is mine and I will do with her what I please. That…” He says nodding to Raven as she sat down. “…is just a little reminder of what happens should she let another man touch her” I couldn’t help myself, this was a step to far. A man should never in a million years hit a woman, and those that did were cowards. Those little men that used their women as punching bags would never stand and hit a man. Why? Simple, they knew the man would not only hit back but harder. Tightening my fist, I bought it up and connected it with his jaw. Raven screamed as Benjamin fell on top of her knocking her out of her seat.
“For fuck’s sake Mykel” Lilith growled as she and Elijah helped Raven up. Elijah punching Benjamin himself when he went to grip Lilith. He was a good beta; I knew if ever I wasn’t around, he would never let harm come to her.
“Have you seen what’s he’s done to her?” I snarled at Lilith as she stood there glaring daggers at me before turning my attention back to Benjamin. “You are a fucking animal. I will kill you for what you’ve done”
“You have no rights to her. I am about to sign a treaty with her father’s pack and that makes her mine. She was what ‘sealed the deal’ so to speak” I went to hit him again when someone coughed behind me. Turning I came face to face with the other Alphas. Each one just as disgusted with what Benjamin had done as I was while looks of shock sat on the faces of the two visiting Luna’s.
“Alpha Mykel I understand she’s fated to you but if she’s been promised to him, I’m afraid there’s nothing you can do” Alpha Dante placed his hand on my shoulder. Normally he would be right only there was something that could be done. “May I suggest everyone taking their seats so we can conclude today’s meeting. I for one would like to get the treaty signings done and out of the way” Dante had remained a good friend even after taking over as Alpha to his pack. We were raised in the same way our fathers having trained us both together. Our minds worked in the same manor, so he most likely knew what I had planned on doing. Though he wouldn’t be expecting Lilith to be the one making the challenge, let alone me allowing her to.
Once we were all seated the meeting continued. My eyes kept darting to Raven who sat there nursing her swollen face. She should have healed by now being as she had Alpha blood running through her veins, which only meant one thing. He had given her silver or wolfsbane. Both could be deadly to a wolf if given in large quantities, whereas in small doses it would prevent our wolves from coming forward and healing us.
During the duration of the meeting, I had managed to successfully sign alliances with six other packs. The biggest plus for me was becoming an ally with Moonrock Pack. My father had spent years trying to negotiate an alliance with their former Alpha only for nothing to ever come of it. Luckily for me that old man was dead and gone, his brother now running the pack as he had no children to pass his title to. Alpha Toronto may be older than the rest of us but fuck me had he made his pack proud. During his short time as Alpha, he had almost quadrupled his size in pack members along with obtaining land that had been previously deemed unhabitable only to prove everyone wrong and build on it. Rumour has it that rogues no longer wanting to live that way take sanctuary there and after a probation period were welcomed to become part of the pack. It was something I admired about him; he wasn’t the kind of man to hold your title against you. He reminded me so much of my father that way. My mother was a rogue when my father found her, he always said that the moment he saw her he loved her. That even when she attacked him not wanting to be the mate of an Alpha all it did was make him want her more. He used to tell me that his own parents gave him an ultimatum, reject my mother and take over as Alpha or accept her and become rogue himself. Thank the goddess he chose the third option. He challenged his father for the title and that same day made my mother his Luna.
“Right so that only leaves you Alpha Benjamin. Do you wish to remain with the alliances you have or add to them?” I kept my voice void of emotion. He knew I didn’t like him as did several others present, however I had to remain in control, well at least until we were wrapped up here.
“I would certainly like to add. Firstly, Alpha Alaric, I accept your offering and agree to aid and assist you and your pack should the need ever arise. It pleases me greatly to align my Delamere Forest Pack with you and The Blood Moon Pack”
“Fantastic, Alpha Benjamin I look forward to building a strong and sturdy relationship with you and your pack” I watched the exchange in words between both men noticing how their body languages gave a whole new story. They were aligning for a reason and given their reputations, it wouldn’t be a good reason.
“Secondly, Alpha Mykel. Would you place past grievances behind you and accept my offer of an alliance? With the contacts I hold I’m sure we can accomplish great things together.” His face held a serious expression, yet I couldn’t resist laughing. I didn’t even need to answer him for this was Lilith’s que.
“I Luna Lilith of The Mountain Forest Pack hereby reject your offer of alliance” Lilith stood proud her head high.
“How dare you show such respect. Sit down slut I was talking to your Alpha” I growled as his disrespectful outburst, my fist smacking the table startling the Lunas present.
“My Luna and I are equals when it comes to running this pack. You will not speak to her that way, especially after what you tried to do last year.”
“I did nothing, that whelp had one too many and came onto me”
“We know you are lying Alpha for we had security cameras in that room, in several rooms actually. We caught the whole ordeal” Elijah was right, Lilith wanted the footage deleted however I told her no as we would at some point need it.
“Then they have been tampered with. Its amazing what can be done with technology these days” Benjamin really was clutching at straws.
“Oh shut up. I declare Delamere Forest Pack an enemy of The Mountain Forest Pack and hereby challenge Alpha Benjamin for his title” The room broke out into chaos. This was the first time in history that a she-wolf had challenged an Alpha. Luna Ruth sat beside her husband looking worried for the fate of her new friend.
“Certainly not… I”
“What’s the matter? Scared to lose to a… what is that word you called me? Slut” Lilith was quick to cut Benjamin off, taunting him into accepting her challenge.
“May I remind you Alpha Benjamin that as I am hosting this year’s meeting, I have the power to either dissolve your pack or claim it as my own should you refuse.” The room fell silent all eyes falling on Benjamin.
“This challenge isn’t official. She isn’t of Alpha blood so by law doesn’t have a leg to stand on and neither does your little threat of absorbing my pack” You could literally see the cogs turning as he tried to think of any way possible to back out of the challenge.
“I’m afraid Alpha Mykel he is correct” Dante stood from his seat a look of regret on his face; little did anyone know Lil had Beta blood in her veins meaning she was well within her right.
“Actually, my fellow alphas, Lilith is the daughter to the late Beta Andy of the dissolved Crystal Lake Pack” Everyone present was shocked, except it wasn’t shock on Alpha Alaric’s face. No, it was recognition.
“Then I accept your challenge”

We had been training for three hours and I was running low on energy.“Enough… I’m done. I get I need to beat him tomorrow. I know what’s at stake if he wins but I’m ready”“No, when you knock me on my ass we are done. Get back here Lil” I groaned as I turned back to face him. Only I was no longer looking at Mykel but his silver wolf. His wolf stalked towards me, yet I just stood there. I was worn out and didn’t want to train anymore. As I went to turn away his wolf knocked into me, sending me flying against the wall. Growling my own wolf took control shifting in record time.My wolf was beautiful, her fur a light chestnut colour and her eyes blue. Most wolves had black eyes yet for some reason mine didn’t. We had tried to find out why but always came up empty handed. Snarling at Mykel’s wolf w
Mykel’s POVWhen Lilith fell asleep, I made sure to leave a guard posted outside the door before going to my office. With everything that happened replaying in my mind I just couldn’t switch off. I would have hunted him down and tortured him for his actions had Lilith not needed me. Sitting at my desk I opened the new bottle of scotch and downed half the bottle. I had become accustomed with the burning sensation it left in your throat, so it no longer bothered me. I needed a distraction, and this seemed the better option. When the bottle was empty, I went for a walk only to end up outside Ravens room. Using my heightened hearing I listened for movement, for a sign she was either asleep or awake. Her heartbeat was calm and steady symbolising she was in fact asleep. Taking the master key from my pocket I carefully inserted it into the lock making sure to stop the others from jingling. Walking in I closed the door behind me before sitting on the edge of her bed. She slept with the lamp o
*** TRIGGER WARNING CONTENT CONTAINS SEXUAL ABUSE ***Ravens POVThe last thing I would have expected was for Mykel to enter my room in the early hours of the morning. To kiss me even though I slept. As the sparks touched my lips it shocked me awake. Not because it scared me, but because it was the first time in forever that I was woken pleasantly. When we fucked it felt so surreal. It was nothing like I experienced with Benjamin. With him I blocked everything out, feeling disgusting and ashamed when my body would become aroused and orgasm. Yet with Mykel it felt like something else entirely. He awoke nerves within me I hadn’t known existed. With each thrust he bought me new heights of pleasure that left me seeing stars. In that moment I wished more than anything he had claimed me entirely. I wished he would mark me, but I found myself unable to ask. Call it fear or stupidity, but I feared the consequences of what not only Benjamin but what my father would have done. My father is a bu
Mykel’s POV“What did he just say?” I asked not knowing if I’d heard correctly.“That he knew who attacked us three years ago. That…” My snarl cut Elijah off. Anger swirled within me knowing he had the information I’d spent the last few years searching for and only now he was about to die felt the need to disclose it. The sky drew darker the closer I got to Benjamin, rain beginning to fall. I needed to get my emotions in check and quick which proved impossible at this time.“Tell me” Picking Benjamin up by what little hair he had I snarled in his face.“Oh Mykel I have plenty I can tell you” his eyes shifted to Raven who was sat beside her father. Nodding to Lilith’s wolf she went behind the barrier and shifted back. Returning in a white robe she stood beside me.“For what you tried to do to me, for what I know you’ve done to Raven and for losing this fight you are going to die. That isn’t up for discussion” Lilith’s words were nothing more than a whisper so no one other that the thre
Lilith’s POVOpening my eyes, I found myself back in my room. I didn’t know how I got here, the last thing I remembered was ripping Benjamin’s heart from his chest. I could Mykel’s shock and fear as I ended his life without a second thought, to be honest I scared myself to. Never in my lifetime did I think I would be strong enough to end someone’s life like that. Everything after that moment however was a blank. To learn of the reason my father died made me feel sick, it was my fault. Had it meant my father lived I would have gone with Alaric. Even as a child I would have given my life over if it meant I would be able to save someone I loved. Thinking back on it now, everything I did when I was younger was similar to what a Luna may have done. Getting out of bed I opened the curtains to find it pitch black outside, flashes of lightening brightening it up for seconds at a time. Had the clock told me it was evening I wouldn’t have thought anything of it, however it was lunchtime. That a
Ravens POVI thought he was different; he had been so kind to me. And like a fool I believed him. I believed every word he said. I should have known better. I get he’s hurt finding out that my father was responsible for the death of his parents, hell I was hurt when he drove my mother to suicide. But I’m not him. I could never hurt anyone, especially knowing how it feels to be hurt myself. My entire family thought I was weak and their probably right, but no matter how bad things got for me I wouldn’t even think about reciting the same behaviour towards somebody else. When Mykel had me locked up, I didn’t know what to do. I screamed for him to let me leave, to not lock me away. He wouldn’t even look at me. He had two huge men cuff me and throw me in that grotty cell. One of them copped a feel of my breast as Mykel walked away where the other just made comments about how I could have the nerve to traitor their Alpha, that I should count myself lucky as had I been anyone else, I’d be dea
Mykel’s POVHow could I have been so stupid as to involve myself with that lying, backstabbing whelp without knowing who she really was? I’d spent the entire night locked in my office, or so I’d thought. It was after the third bottle of scotch I knew I couldn’t go back to my room. I wasn’t scared to face Lilith and her mood, rather what I’d do to her. I’m no saint, I never claimed to be. But I was no woman beater either. That being said, there had been moments when rage blinded me. Rage so aggressive it controlled my entire being that I never had any recognition of what happened afterwards. I’d see Lilith with a bruise or a bite mark, then the way she would flinch from me told me all I needed to know. Whenever I had asked if I was responsible all I’d get was ‘don’t worry about it’. It became clear to me that when I was like this, I hurt her. I knew the alcohol didn’t help, and I’m by no means an alcoholic but it did keep me my gift from spiraling out of control and causing a storm so
Lilith’s POVIt was only a matter of time before Mykel would find Raven. He was on the war path and wanted blood. I understood one hundred percent why he was this way because that day still haunts us all. Except Mykel suffered most of all. When the mortuary cleaned his parents, they discovered his mother had been raped multiple times. A fate no woman should ever have to endure. I meant every word I told him. I would lay down my life if it meant he got the revenge and justice he longed for. I wouldn’t however aid him with extracting that revenge on Raven. She hadn’t played a single part in that day I could swear it. Not that it would do much good at the moment. Throwing on my hoodie and shorts I grabbed the keys off the dresser and ran down to the car which I left out front. I tried to mind link Elijah, but he had his block up. He never did that which told me one thing. Mykel had ordered him to put it up and now knew of Ravens location. The drive through our small town was quiet except
