I took a place beside the God as he waited for everyone to take their seats. After that last battle I was ready to collapse, but we couldn't walk away from this until Sabbi herself was taken down, or the cycle would only find a way to repeat itself.

Tyler leaned forward in his seat. "Remind me again why you're instantly trustworthy? I've tried to do a reading on you and everything is blank or hazy."

"He's a God," I interrupted. "It makes sense you don't see him."

My newest mate openly scoffed. "I don't like to settle for such easy answers, not when it involves you. You're our mate now, and we will throw our lives down to protect you without a second thought."

Inside I turned to mush and put a hand over my heart. They didn't have to tell me that, I'd seen the evidence myself when they'd nearly died in our last battle. "I know," I agreed. "But, I want to hear what he says. I know you're wary of him, but I trust him. Please, give him a chance?"
