“Here is your new alpha! Alpha Draco!”

The stands are eerily silent, not a single cheer coming from the spectators. I inwardly chuckle, feeling just as excited as they are.

I had zero intentions of ever taking over this pack, but their ex alpha just had to go and run his mouth to me and my brothers, challenging us. Naturally, we couldn’t let that stand.

So now here I am, covered in their alphas blood and in charge of a whole other pack. Lovely. Just what I need. Like my brothers and I aren’t busy enough with the hunters gathering numbers and refusing to leave us alone.

Every face in the stands looks terrified, not that I can blame them with the reputation my brothers and I have built. Most of the stories are false but we like to throw in a few truths to keep things interesting. Looks like word of our antics has followed us here.

Well… almost everyone looks scared. I narrow my eyes as I find a girl with silver hair just casually inspecting her fingernails as she yawns, looking completely bored and unbothered.

She’s a thing of beauty with her long silver hair back in twin braids, icy blue eyes looking disinterested in everything around her, and full, pink lips. Her porcelain skin and pale features are unheard of for a wolf down here in the south.

I feel a stirring in my pants and look away quickly. It’s been awhile since I had a release with someone who wasn’t my hand but lusting after a new pack member is a recipe for disaster.

I feel the transfer of alpha power flow through my veins, hundreds of mindlinks opening up to all the members I’m now in charge of. If this pack wasn’t so well known for their impressive military, I’d probably just hand over the title to someone else but warriors are too important to just give away these days.

We’ll need all the help we can get when the hunters finally come with their full forces.

I feel a prickling in my skull, a mindlink trying to sneak through my defenses. I open it, already knowing who it’s from.

“How many members are we now in charge of?” asks my brother, Hunt.

“A few hundred if I had to guess.”

I hear his sigh down the link. “Fucking lovely. That dipshit excuse of an alpha just had to run his mouth. Now we’ve got more members than we know what to do with.”

“Well, it’s a good thing there’s three of us. Plenty of alpha to go around.”

“Did you make sure to lick the asshole’s blood off your fingers? You know, so these people know how scary as fuck you are,” jokes my other brother, Ryder.

I laugh, internally rolling my eyes. “Nah. They’ll all find out the truth eventually.”

What most people don’t know is there are three of us, triplets, who are all alphas of the Bloodstone pack. We rarely show our faces so these people are going to be in for a real treat when they realize there’s two more of me.

While we all look similar, our personalities are all different. Hunt is the serious one, being the oldest. Ryder is the playful one who happens to be the youngest. And I’m somewhere in between, both literally and figuratively.

I’m also the strongest fighter which is why they elected me to fight in this shit show today. Fuck, even our five year olds just learning to throw punches could have won against the sorry excuse for an alpha I took down today.

“When are you two coming here?”

There’s a long pause on the other end before Hunt says, “We’ve got a few things to handle here. Probably within the next couple of days.”

I know neither one of them wants to leave the pack with the ongoing threat of the hunters but being here is important. We now have a pack that just lost their alpha and they’re going to be scared. We need to bring order before everything turns to chaos.

“Alright. I’ll keep shit in line until you two get here.”

“Don’t tell them about us,” says Ryder, always the trouble maker. “I love the look of surprise when people realize there’s three of us.”

I chuckle. “Deal.”

“We’ll let you know when to expect us.”

And with Hunt’s last words, the link goes out and I’m stuck with hundreds of new pack members who look like their seconds from shitting themselves.

Well.. except for frosty. She doesn’t seem to really care either way. Her auburn haired friend sitting beside her looks like she’s about to have an aneurysm while the girl talks like her world didn’t just get flipped upside down.

Something about her... intrigues me. I can’t quite put my finger on it but her fearlessness is shocking. Either she really hates her ex alpha, which would be understandable if the things I’ve heard are true, or she has zero regard for her safety.

I’m starting to think it might be a mixture of both.

The red head is looking at her like she’s horrified by what her friend is saying and curiosity wins as I extend my hearing to catch snippets of their conversation.

“How long do you think this is going to take? I really am hungry. Wanna get breakfast at the cafe after this?”

“Are you serious right now, Alanna? Shaun is dead, our leader is now the scariest alpha in the southwest, and you’re worried about food?”

So her name is Alanna. Pretty.

“I told you I forgot to eat this morning.”

“Still! Food is the last thing on my mind right now.”

“Nina, I already told you. He’s not going to kill us all. If he does, he’s a fucking idiot who deserves to be spited by the moon goddess. Things are too unsafe for alphas to go around killing off pack members right now.”

Alanna had a good point. Smart and beautiful. Deadly combination.

While Ryder is the jokester out of us three, sometimes I can’t help myself which is how I find myself opening up a mindlink to her.

“You know, most pack members would be devastated, or at least scared, if their alpha just died and their pack is now under new leadership, not worrying about where to eat breakfast.”

Her icy eyes meet mine and she raises a single pale eyebrow.

“Eavesdropping on conversations, alpha?”

The way she says alpha is like a challenge and I feel my blood heating.

“Hard not to when you’re the only one here who looks like she doesn’t give a damn.”

One side of her plump lips tilts up in a smirk. I like it way too much.

“Well, alpha-” there’s that tone again “-as long as you don’t act like a complete moron, there should be nothing to worry about, right?”

She cuts off the mindlink and I’m left wondering if I’ve just lost the first battle in this war between us.

The second I feel my brothers enter the packhouse after the rogue attack I release the breath I’ve been holding since they walked out those doors. I normally don’t mind being left behind, knowing the two of them are more than capable, but this time, it took a lot for me to stay behind.Don’t ask me why because I’m trying not to think about it too closely. It only takes a few minutes before they’re entering the alpha office where I’ve been sitting and waiting for them to come back. I scan them from head to toe, both injury free but there’s a heaviness settling on their shoulders I’m not used to.“What happened,” are the first words out of my mouth.Draco grimaces and the tension that just left me is back. They both take a seat across from the desk I’m sitting behind, practically collapsing into the chairs. Thank the goddess they’re sturdy and able to handle the weight of two large men who are all muscle.Ryder is the first to speak. “There were only twelve and most were taken care of b

Allowing myself to get distracted was stupid but I couldn’t help myself.Alanna in wolf form is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, second to seeing her as a human in all her pale skin and silver hair glory. While I’m surprised by how much I love the way she looks, it's her attitude that just gets me. She’s pure fire and seeing her in battle just reinforces that. She's fast, lethal, and shows no mercy. The dead rogues at her feet are proof of that. The fight was quick and mainly painless. We didn’t lose any warriors but not all came out unscathed. I see wounds healing as fast as they can. I look over at Alanna, who is currently speaking with Kace, and notice she’s clear of any marks. The oversized shirt she’s wearing is very distracting. The rogues that so stupidly attacked are now all dead, piled into a mountain of flesh and bone ready to be set ablaze. A warrior is counting, making sure all twelve bodies are accounted for. The wrinkle between his brow has me worried.“Is there

Ryder and I race out of the packhouse, leaving Hunt behind. I could tell he really wanted to come, which is unlike him, but we decided one of us had to stay back in case something happened. If Ryder and I were hurt or killed, at least one of us would still be around to run the pack.Hunt is always our obvious choice since he’s the brains behind pack operations so I’m pretty surprised by how badly he wanted to come with us today. He’s a good fighter but his brain is more important than his brawn. That’s what Ryder and I are for. We’re the fighters.Kace made sure to alert Alanna that rogues were coming in her direction. After watching her fight Derrick, the giant warrior, I know not to worry about her but for some odd reason, I still am. What if they get far enough and ambush her while she’s all alone?I don’t like the thought of that so I shift into my wolf form and push harder.A mindlink from Kace comes through. “Nina is also at Alanna’s house but Alanna left her locked in and told

My brothers and I have spent the past few days in either meetings about the pack or looking for the book Emmett told us about. So far, the meetings have gone well. As for the book? No luck. This coming full moon in a week's time, all three of us plan to travel back to Bloodstone for the celebration then next month, we’ll combine the two packs and celebrate together and hopefully members from both will find mates. If it weren’t for inviting Alpha Keene from the Nightshade pack and his members to have a party and see if any of our people were mates, I’d stay here.I’m a little sad to be leaving for this full moon. I’ve been ready for a mate for a while now and am really looking forward to meeting her but I keep reminding myself that if she really is here, then I can wait one more month. What’s a month in the face of our whole lives?I’ve met most of the women in the pack but I haven’t really felt much of a connection to any of them and that worries me. I know the mate bond doesn’t click

  • Their Ice Luna   Chapter 14 - Alanna

“Mates?” I croak, then clear my throat. “I uh… guess that’ll be good for some people.”She cocks her head, eyeing me warily. “You don’t sound too excited about that.”I scoff. “Why should I be? Even if I did find a mate, they’d just reject me on the spot anyway.” I level her with a look as I cross my arms across my chest. “We’ve talked about this before. You know a mate just isn’t for me.”I’ve been dreading the idea of a mate since I learned what they are and I realized how my pack looked at me. I know whoever is unlucky enough to be tied to me will reject me without a second thought to our bond. I’ve been lucky so far, remaining mateless, but I know it’s only a matter of time before I’m faced with the heart breaking pain of a mate bond breaking.Nina’s face falls and I hate the look of pity on it. “Alanna,” she says softly. “You don’t know that. They say the mate bond is really strong. I’m sure your mate will at least give you a chance.”I shake my head. “I don’t want someone to onl

  • Their Ice Luna   Chapter 13 - Alanna

It’s been three days since the tournament and I’ve managed to avoid everyone, even the triplet alphas, and it feels like nothing short of a miracle. I’ve had a few mindlinks from Kace regarding pack business and my new training level but that’s about it.Top tier level. Color me shocked.I already knew I’d be placed on the highest team with my performance against Derrick. I’ve always been a good fighter, taking to it naturally the moment I was finally allowed to begin training. I’ll never be the strongest but my smaller human stature and speed make me a tough opponent. Then there’s my wolf which the triplets haven’t even seen yet. She’s a bloodthirsty girl who refuses to quit. We may have ice shooting from us without permission but we’ve got fiery personalities. As for the pack business, training is set to begin tomorrow and I’m dreading it. While I’ve been feeling better since my little explosion in the forest, I’m still on edge just endlessly worrying about what to expect when I set
